Lilly knew it was their way of saying goodbye, when they thought no one was watching. She had been watching, but she loved James even more than the blood that had been pumping through her by her broken heart. She had said nothing then except an exchange of vows, and was then kissed passionately by her husband. And she said nothing now as she sipped her drink, surrounded by a room full of well-wishers who had no idea that James never kissed her the way he had Sirius.

The party was a hit. There were glittering streamers thrown around people who laughed. James was told what a lucky bastard he was for holding on to Lilly. Lilly was asked how she survived being Mrs. James Potter for an entire year. There were warm hugs thrown about freely and sweet smells filled the room. Everyone had cake and other unearthly delights, but all Sirius could taste was the bitter tang of his Jamie belonging to someone else. A certain red headed someone that everyone adored. She was good for him, and Sirius was sickeningly happy
for them. Really, he was.

This is my first time posting in this community. Here is a little drabble I wrote, Lily/James, Rated G, Titled "Sweet Nothings".

Sweet Nothings

He was kissing her. And she was enjoying it.

After six years of her apparent loathing of him, he had succumbed her to this pleasant feeling of something that she couldn't name. She disliked his rudeness, his boyish charms that worked on everyone, and his comrade in crime, Sirius, however, though she couldn't admit it yet, she liked, no loved him.

When his perfect lips quit working hers, and she opened her eyes, he smiled and she said yes to the date.

When he surprised her after not even a year of dating by asking her to marry him she accepted, knowing that she had finally found something that fit, and that no one could ever take away from her. She said her "I do's" on that day and kissed him, danced with him, loved the presence of him and his friends. She had learned to adore Remus and Sirius, and quite possibly loved those two as much as James. Lily adored Remus for his sensibility and sweetness and Sirius because he made her laugh and was the perfect godfather to Harry.

When it was all said and done, she had said yes to James Potter and never looked back, not once. She had no clue why she did it either. However, she knew that she loved him, and even when she saw the flash of light, saying her husband had gone on she kept going for him. Meaning that she knew she had said yes for a reason, and with kissing her baby good-bye, she said yes to death for what she loved, her creation, between her and James, Harry Potter, the boy in a prophecy, who was human and would save the world.

So tell me what you thought. This is my first fic that was released to the public, bear that in mind. This fic may be an outline for a fic that will be longer.
