| About: | Welcome to ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) _these_words_! This is a place where people can share their own original writing with others. We are here to learn and grow. You may also post prompts to help spur up some creativity.
These are the rules for this community:
1. It's advised that you make your posts set to the Friends-Only mode. However, this is entirely up to you. If you don't know how to do this, click here. Take into consideration that since this community is on the internet, anyone could stumble upon this place and take someone's writing. Making your post friends-only will ensure that your work is safe and viewable only to members- however, it is optional.
2. Obviously, no stealing other peoples' work. You will be immediately banned and reported if you decide to sink that low.
3. No promoting communities unless they pertain to writing. All other, off-topic promotion will be deleted.
4. No fan fiction, please. There are tons of communities out there that support that type of writing.
5. Be nice to everyone in the community. If you want to state your opinion on someone's writing or review, state it. But be as nice as possible about it. Constructive criticism should always be constructive, hence the term. "Your ______ sucks" is not acceptable. "I think you could work on ______" is acceptable.
6. When critiqueing someone's work, you must always have at least one constructive comment and one positive comment. A constructive comment is a mistake you found or something the writer needs to work on. A positive comment is something that you really liked about their writing or something you thought they did really well. The old saying goes, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"- and with that, also try to help and improve, we're here to share and learn!
7. If you want to share something you have written and it has mature content in it, please put a warning up and put your work behind an lj-cut. If you don't know how to do an lj-cut, click here.
8. Be active! A sleepy community isn't fun.
9. Please, no unnecessary posts. If you'd like to share a little about yourself because you're new then that's fine, but also include something that you wrote. Every post should contain writing.
10. The most important rule of all: have fun!
