I haven't posted here in ages, mostly because my hair hasn't changed in ages.

I got a couple of shots in different lighting. I couldn't really capture just how painfully bright it is in person.

Tried to dye my hair blonde at a salon cost 50 bucks just for a root touch up and now my hair is fucked. its an ugly color and its dead!

I think i might shave my hair into a chelsea and start again. I've had one before many years ago (like 5 years now i think) and it looked like this...

pictures from now.. )

I finally did it. [03 Mar 2009|04:39pm]

So I finally decided to give myself a Chelsea yesterday morning. I'm glad I did it, I can't stop rubbing my head. I was going to go shorter but I think this length looks good on me. :)

So long Chelsea, I loved you so.

After 2 years or so of having a Chelsea, I've decided to grow it out. Not for any reason other than I need a change. I haven't shaved it since December...it's bugging the SHIT out of me. But...I have to be strong.

in case you haven't gotten to looking at my comment on my previous post, I shall inform y'all how my cut came out. BAD. just bad. i asked the hairdresser for a chelsea, she said WHA?! i had to explain it to her and she said "no no, get used to this first" and she cut my hair all one length... my boyfriend and friends and family like it, but i'm not too sure...my mom rescheduled my appointment so i can get my chelsea over spring break though :p

here's what it looks like!!!!!! )

Hi :) I'm Trisha!
I've been really into doing crazy shit with my hair since I was about twelve. It started with just bleaching and dying random colors, then eventually it turned into cutting once my hair got super fried from the bleaching that happened every saturday. The first time I shaved my hair was into a devils lock, and I just couldn't stay away from the bleach. It went from color to color every month. Eventually, I got out of the bleaching and cutting phase and let my hair grow out. It reached the middle of my back before I decided I wanted to dip my hand in the bleaching department again. I did that for a few months and then cut my hair to just a few centimeters below my chin. I hated how the lady cut it (very layered with a fringe. not what I had asked for.) and now that it's grown out a little, I'm ready for yet another change. My friend suggested to me shaving my head (all as a joke) and I decided I wanted a chelsea hawk (or a pussy chelsea hawk, as i call it!).

This is where I need a bit of help.
I have naturally curly, frizzy hair (I straighten my hair all the time) and I don't want to go completely shaved on the sides. I want maybe an inch of hair left on the sides (I want it like this but the hawk part would be longer). Would anyone happen to know if it would look like an afro after I get out of the shower and stuff? And if so, does anyone know if the relaxing treatments that salons offer would work?

Thank you:D

Thank you guys so much for encouraging me. I really, really love it and am excited as hell to dye it wacky colors. I've been dying what with having boring hair due to work, and finally giving in and getting a wig for work is a breath of fresh air, and I wouldn't have gone through with it without some encouragement, me being the generally anxious and indecisive type that I am. You guys rock my world.

...Okay, I know that this sort of post has been made again and again, but I can't think of a better group to ask, to be honest.

Should I do it? )

MY HAIRDRESSER IS A CUNT

I'm now left with a choppy,messed up un-even shorter a-line type thing.
It's nothing like what i asked for at all. I told them down to a t what i wanted. It wasnt my usual stylist so thats maybe why. Oh and it's alot shorter at the back than it looks, its about an inch at most. It's also been cut wavy and chunky, you cant quite see in the picture.

My mum used to have a chelsea when she was younger so shes gonna save it for me =]

It's been years since I've sported a Chelsea or a feather cut and sometimes I do actually miss it. I've had all lengths, from sholder skimming to the shorter side. Here's a couple of pictures of the styles I had over the years.

What about you guys? I know this may sound like a silly question but do most of you have Chelseas currently or now have retired the haircut? I'd like to see before and after pictures. :]

Fresh New Chelsea! [04 Sep 2008|09:39am]

I tried out my new clippers last night and attempted the Chelsea solo. It looks great from the side but the back will need to grow in a bit to even out. I love it!

Helloooooo! [03 Sep 2008|04:22pm]

squeegeeash
Hi everyone!  I'm new to the community, though not new to the chelsea!  I've had a longer version of it since high school (except for that odd period when I shaved my head completely bald...lol.)  you know, kinda longer in the back with the spikes, and slicked down in the front.  mostly for working purposes.  I'm a hairstylist and master colorist, licensed and everything!  lol.  I'm also an artist, dealing mostly in photography and abstract/contemporary painting.  I found this community while looking for chelsea haircuts last night on the web, and when i found this community, I instantly joined!  I'm 22, married, gay, and I was recently discharged from the Navy (not for being gay, but for a back injury.)  I got bored last night and decided to go back to my beloved chelsea haircut.  So, i grabbed my clippers, slappped on the number 8 guard, and buzzed the back and sides, leaving my longer (and very damaged due to color) bangs and sideburns.  my naturally curly hair was starting to give me issues as it got longer, and i began to look like a q-tip!  or as my friend would call it, "the white-fro"....i'll post pics later when i actually have some time to take them, but for now, i thought i would introduce myself and if anyone had any hair related questions, or if anyone else here is a hairdresser that wanted to chat, just drop me a line, or something and i'll be glad to chat with you! :D
peace!
Squee
