| About: | Put Yourself on the Couch! And now a welcoming note...
***new idea: try tagging your entries with your name/name you want to go by so that people can keep up on your story, in order to better support you. Also adding tags about the general topic may make it easier to look up others going through the same thing you are going through...this is not required, but it might be a good idea...***
Dear Members,
Recently, the couch has undergone some changes for the better with many more to come! As the mods, Brittany and I want to ensure the success of this community! The couch is intended to be a safe place to share your experience with therapy and all that is behind it. What I mean is, let this be a source of therapy as well. What someone is going through is equally important as the content/outcome of their sessions. With that said, we ask that you are respectful and supportive as possible of each other. To make make members feel safe at all times, we also ask that you make an effort to make entries friends-only. Commenting is encouraged because even though we are not professionals, we are part of everyone's support system - acknowledgment often gives a person some sense of value!
Please remember that no person is better than your therapist when dealing with a complex issue such as suicide! (for this specific topic, this website is highly recommended) It also helps if you are currently involved in some type of therapy like counseling, but it is not required to be a member! This is your community - if you have any suggestions or concerns, please let us know!
Welcome! Brittany and I invite you to have a seat on the couch:)
