5/13/09 01:35 pm - [info]bug_says_meep - Lost video...

Hey gang! I know this is a long shot, but I figured if anyone would have this they'd be here. Does anyone here happen to have the video of the 2005 Revival cast's Gypsy of the Year skit, where they parodied "You Can Drive a Person Crazy"? I thought it was hillarious but I can't remember all of the words anymore. I feel like I've spent the last 2 years trying to find this video and now I'm starting to question it's existence in the first place.

If anyone has it, or knows where it might be found, I would be incredibly greatful! Thanks so much!

Chloe

4/19/09 12:09 am - [info]de_yaten - mrs. lovett poster for sale

Hi guys! I'm making room on my walls, so some posters have to go. I'm selling my big (40 x 24 inches) Mrs. Lovett/Helena Bonham Carter Sweeney Todd poster.

4/3/09 01:27 am - [info]oopsgirlatsea - Hi, I'm new.

Hey guys,
I'm new here and a relatively new Sweeney Todd fan.

To be honest, I hated the show before I saw my college put on an amazing production in the fall. (I hated it because I saw the '82 DVD when I was much younger and it scared me.) Now I've seen the concert version, the film, and I have every English recording I've been able to find. I'm still not too keen on the Original Broadway production. I like Hearn and Lansbury just fine, but something about the production doesn't work for me. Don't hate me for that though.

I loved my college's production that I saw it three times.

Loved the concert...I thought it was excellent...great singing. The movie was visually perfect and excellently cast...except for the singing. It did turn me into a big Helena Bonham Carter fan, even though I'm not keen on her singing. The revival is my favorite recording though. My college still gave the best production of them all, I believe. It kept in all of the humor, heart, and had excellent singing, acting, and a great set and costumes. I'm sure I can't convince you that it was the best, but that's okay.

Anyway, I'm posting here because I plan to write this epic paper for my theatre history class. I've found A String of Pearls, but I would like to read Christopher Bond's play. I was reading here and I saw that someone did a high school production of it...it looked very cool. Does anyone know where I can find a script online or to purchase?

ALSO, I saw this post and I find it very intriguing. http://community.livejournal.com/_sweeneytodd/296942.html
I'm interested in this fic "Asylum" by Victoria. Can someone direct me to this fic? Thank you.

3/16/09 10:04 am - [info]mineowyn - Pointy Hair

Hey guys I don't know if any of you noticed, but I was watching the 82' recording of the Sweeney Todd National Tour and I noticed that Sweeney's (George Hearn's) hairtips got progressively pointier and pointier at the back of his head. I don't know what his hairstyle is called, but the back of the head's hairtip edges are definitely getting pointier and taking the shape of horns (styled with hairgel I think?) as Sweeney killed more and more people.

Also, notice Mrs Lovett's two redhaired buns got progressively pointier and pointier, I think it evolved from looking like cat ears to horns. And her makeup esp her white foundation and mascara got thicker...

I think the change is v. subtle but if you compare the final scene and the first scene when they enter (Worst Pies in London & No Place Like London), you will see the difference.

Possible stage symbolism in this? I think it's definitely deliberate.

2/3/09 07:50 pm - [info]matt_writer - Drabble :: Portraiture with Todd and Lovett

Hi! I made some drawings of Sweeney and Mrs. Lovett not long ago. But as they were a bit odd, I thought I should explain them -- and I did so through a 300-word drabble.

Title: Portraiture with Todd and Lovett
Characters: Todd and Lovett
Genre: Humour
Rating: G
Summary: Sweeney and Mrs. Lovett go get photographs of themselves taken. In normal circumstances (and more importantly, with normal people), this plan would definitely have worked out.

12/13/08 08:17 pm - [info]koreofmyth - Fic: Lies

Hello! Awhile back, I wrote and posted a Sweeney Todd fic. It leans slightly towards the musical, but it's vauge enough that if you'd rather picture movie-versions, it should be alright. I'd love it if I got some feedback, and it being 'aired out' a bit more.

Title/Chapter Title: Lies
Genre: Angst/Drama
Rating: T
Warnings: Adult insinuations - insinuated femmeslash
Fandom: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Pairing/Character: Lucy Barker, Lucy/Mrs.Lovett, Lucy/Benjamin
Summary: Lucy likes to tell lies...or does she?
Author's Note: This piece might be confusing, but I'd like to just suggest an open mind reading it. And - I don't think anyone has written the Lucy/Lovett pairing before...though it's rather light here (if Sweeney Todd can ever be light).
