this is for all the sensitive souls who've been hurt and disappointed by the ones they've loved and need to let go.
Caroline LaVelle - Farther Than The Sun
Strung in the wind I called you, but you did not hear;
you're a plant that needs poor soil
and I have treated you too well to give up flowers
Oh I have been too rich for you.
Farther than the sun from me,
farther than I'd have you be,
And I go north, I get so cold.
My heart is lava under stone;
You are not worthy, you are not worthy.
With your calculating eyes spinning figures,
You cannot see me,
And if I tell myself enough I'll believe it
you are not worthy.
The sea it freezes over to trap the light,
And I'm in love with being in love
and you were never quite the one;
in Gerda's eyes, fragments of what you've become.
And all the moths that fly at night believe
electric light is bright
you are not worthy, you are not worthy.
With your calculating eyes spinning figures
you cannot see me, and if I tell myself enough
I'll believe it.

You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist.

Each person we welcome into our lives blesses us in ways that only the passage of time can validate. To invite someone in, however, takes an honest extension of the self, an open-armed posture which implies that we will risk being open.
How short and bland life seems when we cut ourselves off from the myriad experiences and acquaintances that present themselves to us. When we back away from the persons who have curiously crossed our paths, we back away from the lessons for which earlier experiences and persons have prepares us. Our progess and our success in life is both measured and nurtured by the number of genuine contacts we make with the men and women who are sharing our space in time.
*Excerpt from The Promise of a New Day*
Tell me a secret.
I want to know
Of wounds and deceit
And terror and woe.
Of love and strength
And passion and joy.
Do you want children?
A girl or a boy?
How far can you count?
How far can you run?
How much do you do
Before the day is done?
Who do you love?
How close do you feel?
Do you think a future
Could ever be real?
Tell me a secret.
I want to know
Just who you are
Because I love you so.
my aromatherapy teacher shared this healing mantra, which is said to work wonders when used often.
go quiet, centre yourself and say:
"may any disease, disorder or discomfort in my body which is not for my highest and best purpose, be transmuted by love and sent back from whence it came..."
repeat x 3.
Music swims around my head, ignoring all the wrath and dread,
Feelings produced, none announced, all are somewhat more pronounced,
Where is this feeling from? Why do I feel this way?
What does this feeling mean? What is this I cannot say?
The heart feels pain, the heart feels joy,
The heart feels something beyond me.
Beyond anyone--reality omitted--and all becomes as a dream.
