| Gambling; to stake or risk money, or anything of value, on the outcome of something involving chance: to gamble on a toss of the dice. Las Vegas. The city where the rich thrive in their greed, and the poor are treated like shit on the bottom of one’s shoe. The city where by day, the preachers stand on the street, claiming that God will forgive all of our sins and Jesus will, once more, return to walk the Earth and bring salvation. And by night, the unforgiven roam those exact same streets, feeding off of the crime that occurs on every corner. Vegas, the city where last night's beauty may actually be your boss's assistant, but the lights, makeup, thousand-dollar outfits and glamorous costumes hide all hints of reality. For a night, the poorest could be just like the richest, taking advantages of the perks before returning to a dead-end job during the day. In Las Vegas, everything revolves around money. Without it, everything is unattainable. Without it, you’re nothing; just another face in the crowd. To win money, you must lose some. To get a good fuck, you must pay the fees. To get the high you seek, you must walk among the shadiest drug dealers. Money can, in fact, buy you happiness. It can buy you the things that you want, and the things that you need. The things to feed those cravings and addictions. El Cortez, one of the biggest casinos in Las Vegas and one of the most addicting places on Earth. If you have money. And if you have money, then Brian Haner and Frank Iero are your best friends. It’s people like you who keep them in business. Keep them parading around in their highly expensive clothes, and bragging about how many zeros they have on the end of their bank balance. Which, let me tell you now, is more than you can ever imagine. These two men are loaded. They own one of, if not the biggest casino in Las Vegas. But they’re still looking for people to come and work for them. Do you think you’re up for it? El Cortez is a very friendly and welcoming role playing community. It’s based around a casino with a hotel and bar, meaning that there’s more jobs, so a lot more players are welcome. That doesn’t mean to say that your character has to work in one of those three places. Because they don’t. They can work outside of the casino, but if that’s the case, then they still need to have some connection to El Cortez. Maybe they’re a regular at the bar after work? Or maybe they suffer with an addiction for gambling? Who’s to say that their addiction for gambling is what brings them to El Cortez? Brian Haner is a very well known drug dealer around Las Vegas. So maybe that is what brings your character to the casino. These are just a few examples, though. As interesting as it would be, we don’t want a role playing community full of drug addicts and gambling addicts. This community is an OOC drama-free zone. We want you to enjoy this game, because it’s only going to be as interesting as you make it. The rules and guidelines are there for a reason. If you stick to them, then this community will be a success, it will grow, but most of all, it will be a fun and friendly environment for you as a player to be in. |
