DVD Caps

YAY! This community is back up. Maybe now I can find people who appreciate the long hours I spent making DVD caps! Hehe. I didn't have room to store them all though, but I'm thinking of rotating them (if there's enough interest).

Check out what I have here: http://photobucket.com/albums/v477/ferrret/

Let me know if you like them. There's also some random Robert pics that I posted on a messageboard. Speaking of which, I have a link for that too! It's all about Grind House, his upcoming project with Quentin Tarantino. Come check it out!

Glad to be back! YAY ROBERT! Hehe.

P.S. I just got this real-life reader biography of him today...OMG there are pics of him when he was little and a teenager and stuff. SO cute! My scanner wasn't working today, but as soon as I figure it out, I'm totally scanning them.

Woot! Great pics! Where did you read the bio? Is it available online?

Thanks for posting that! I need to go back when I have some time and grab the captures! :)

Will you let us know when you are about to switch out, or is there a time limit?

Thanks so much! (has LJ icon ideas working already...)

Oh, now you're going to have to share your details!

First off, where'd you get the caps of the Mexico and Mariachis album? Because I'm definitely never seen that before.

And what's this about a real-life reader bio of him? Where'd you get it? *g* We want to know!

Cool pics. :)

You could fit a lot more pictures on if you uploaded them as .jpg instead of .bmp.

.jpg, for those size images, would be about 30-50kb as opposed to the 200+kb size of the .bmp-s.

Ex: This jpeg is 32 kb; it's larger sizewize than this bitmap, but the bitmap is a lot larger in terms of data szie; it's 225kb.

The smaller bitmap is 7 times larger datawise for a smaller pixelwise image.

So if you convert all those over you'd be able to have more pictures in you gallery. :)

Cool pics though, thanks for sharing. :)

Whoa! So many comments already. :)! My internet likes to quit working if I do too many things, so I will just have one big response that hopefully answers all your questions.

The Real-Life Reader Biography: Robert Rodriguez (full and official title! hehe) is like a fifth-grade reading level book, hehe. It's the same basic story you read pretty much everywhere (it's awfully close to his IMDB profile...this book is probably where it came from). It's only twenty-some pages and the text is really big, so it's not that long. I found it on Amazon for like $2.99 used (s+h is $3.49 for books, so the total was $6 something). I think it's worth buying just for the cute pictures, but since I'm going to post them online,....... hehe.

Mexico and Mariachis is a compilation cd of a bunch of music that inspired the Mariachi trilogy, and also some music taken directly from it (or different versions of music from it). It came with a bonus dvd, showing the making of the music, and live performances of Tito and Tarantula (featuring Robert on guitar) and Del Castillo, and also interviews with Robert, of course.

And yeah, I will give fair warning to when I am about to switch them out. I capped everything off Once Upon a Time in Mexico (all six featurettes), From Dusk Till Dawn (not Full Tilt Boogie, though, cuz someone already did that), Sin City, and Spy Kids 3D and Mexico and Mariachis (more than what's already up there). I didn't do Kill Bill 2, cuz that had been done too, and I guess I didn't have time to do Spy Kids 2. (I did all these on my dad's computer at home, and I'm at school now and I don't think I can make caps with my computer.) There wasn't anything to cap on El Mariachi, Desperado, or Four Rooms. I don't have Spy Kids or the Faculty (but I will when the special editions come out!). Am I forgetting anything?

As for saving them as jpegs...I guess I didn't think about that. Or maybe I was afraid the picture would get messed up like it does when I try to convert bitmap icons to jpeg. It's worth a shot, though. Thanks for the tip!

Whoa, sorry that was so long. Hehe. I didn't want to leave anything out. Glad you like the caps!

just a quick update...

I've started converting all the dvd caps to jpegs. No picture quality loss at all! Just time consuming, hehe. I'll let you know before I start switching them out though.
