Конструкторы корабля хотели бы сделать эти двигатели еще шире, но не могли. ПОЧЕМУ? Дело в том, что различные части корабля нужно было перевезти по железной дороге на место сборки. Эта линия железной дороги проходит через довольно узкий туннель в горе. Расстояние между рельсами стандартное: 4 фута 8.5 дюйма. Поэтому конструкторы могли сделать двигатели шириной только 5 футов, иначе их было бы невозможно провезти по этой дороге. Возникает вопрос: почему стандартное расстояние между рельсами: 4 фута 8.5 дюйма? Откуда взялась эта цифра? Оказывается, железную дорогу в Штатах, как и в Англии, проектировали по принципу трамвайных путей, а стандартное расстояние между рельсами трамвайной дороги.... угадайте!!! Правильно, 4 фута 8.5 дюйма. HО ПОЧЕМУ????? Потому что первые трамваи в Англии производились на том же заводе, на котором делали конки. А длина оси конки составляла 4 фута 8.5 дюйма!!!!! Почему же длина оси конки 4 фута 8.5 дюйма??????? Потому что конки делали с таким расчетом, чтобы их колеса попадали в колеи на английских дорогах (таким образом колеса меньше изнашиваются). А расстояние между колеями по всей Англии ЧЕТЫРЕ ФУТА ВОСЕМЬ С ПОЛОВИHОЙ ДЮЙМОВ!!!!!!! Почему же так получилось? Потому что первые дороги в Великобритании прокладывали римляне, а точнее, их боевые колесницы. И длина оси стандартной римской колесницы равняется..... совершенно верно, 4 футам 8.5 дюймам! Hу вот мы и докопались до того, откуда взялся этот размер! Одно непонятно: ни в одной известной системе мер эта длина (4 фута 8.5 дюйма) не является числом целым! Почему же римлянам вздумалось делать оси своих колесниц именно такой длины??? А вот почему: в такую колесницу обычно запрягали двух лошадей. А 4 фута 8.5 дюйма - это был как раз размер двух лошадиных задниц! Делать ось колесницы длиннее было бы неудобно, так как это бы нарушало равновесие. Следовательно, вот и ответ на самый первый вопрос: даже теперь, когда человек вышел в космос, его наивысшие технические достижения напрямую зависят от РАЗМЕРА ЛОШАДИHОЙ ЗАДHИЦЫ ДВЕ ТЫСЯЧИ ЛЕТ HАЗАД!!!! post comment
