Granted, it's only really active 1 month of the year but it strives to have good stuff going on for that month. Come Lose Yourself ...  TOMBSTONE....  The name evokes images and thoughts of the raw and real old West, the savagery and splendor of gunslingers and horses, fast guns and those who failed the draw, savvy ladies of the saloon and fatal cheats at the card table ...there's no cars here, no cell phones, no electricity ... this is 1881, forever. The modern world has no power here, though outside it still goes on.  Time has moved on, and left this little town of infamy caught in a limbo of sorts, bringing in those who have lived or perished by violence, or were merely kissed by its darkness at some point. There are killers here, some of the greatest the world has ever seen. There are heroes, victims, hapless bystanders, dragged to this dusty place of tumbleweeds, rattlesnakes and gunsmoke. Is it real ...is this a mirage, some lunatic lapse of a mad God? Once you get here, you'll find it doesn't matter, because death changes those too slow on the draw.  And the Watchers... Something wicked this way comes...and you might join them, if you fail the draw down. All you'll care about is staying alive, and that isn't easy. Outside the town, after dark, from dusk till dawn, they start to roam, and cry. The creatures come, wailing, screaming, unseen. But they always take someone away, to join their hellish fate. Tombstone ...where the monster under the bed just might be you. It is a time in history like no other. There are those who feel that they are standing on the dawn of a golden age while others feel that the threat of nuclear war will tear the nation apart. The fire of the Civil Rights Movement is beginning to blaze with men and women standing up against oppression at home, as costumed superheroes and criminals begin to make their presence known. Against this backdrop of conflict and change, a man named Charles Xavier is searching for others of his kind. Xavier sees the turmoil ahead. He believes that a war against mutants may soon be coming--he sees it in the reaction of Americans to the threat of the bomb and the fear of mutation. His friend, Erik Lehnsherr, argues that violence should be met with violence, that mutants should strike first and enslave those who would harm them. But Xavier is not a man quick to anger and instead, he is preparing a sanctuary for those who would band together for protection. About a month back, livejournal automatically switched this for most communities to 'must be approved'. If you've been noticing a lack of posts to your communities, this is why. I just spent 20 minutes going through all of my communities , it had effected over ½ of them, and switching them back to open posting for all members.
