Hello, everyone! New poster here and a Nightwish fan since 2002 ^^

As some of you probably know, Nightwish had a gig last Thursday in Helsinki, Finland. I went there and had a good time. I also wanted to share this with you, so I left my post about the concert open. It's not a review; it's just like any other personal journal entry about what one did and saw :) But this time I can be pretty proud of the pics I took and that's the main reason I want to share my entry with you :P

I was going to post the after-concert review, involving our dinner with the NW lads at the Tournament of Kings in Vegas. But I'm lazy, so here are the portraits I gave to the guys themselves. However, I was a dumbass and forgot to scan the finished products of Jukka's, Emppu's (Little kissa is hard to draw!!) and Tuomas'. Tuomas called his "very beautiful" though, which still makes me cry tears of squee.

Jukka's had a very neutral color scheme, consisting mostly of earth tones and black, with an owl spread across the full moon. :3

Because I am unoriginal and play on Emppu's last name.

Why yes, I am an art fangirl. Deal.

I was at Manchester airport a a couple of months ago waiting for a flight to Paris. This was a tiny, tiny aircraft (it looked like 40 seats or something) which my friend and I had booked online a few days in advance because it was cheap, and I was waiting in line to get my boarding pass when I happened to glance around and there in front of me was ANETTE! She was sitting there casually reading Elle, while I was standing less than two meters away trying to act calm whilst completely hyperventilating!

Working up the courage, I went up and spoke to her a while (she was on her own - the boys had taken the tour bus - to do some sightseeing before the concert), and asked for a picture. She is absolutely gorgeous! And looked stunning - she was wearing the same clothes and makeup as in the concert I went to on the 25th of March, and there was me in my shabby plane clothes looking absolutely terrible no doubt! At least under my jacket I was wearing one of my multiple NW shirts (yeah, like I wear anything else...ever! XD) which was something though. :)

Thought you all might like to see some photos of the concert & signing session under the cut, too (mostly of Tuomas and Emppu).

I'd previously thought about giving the gang a a portrait each, but had always shrugged the idea off because I figured I'd be too embarrassed, but literally a few days before the concert I decided I'd just go for it - slightly problematic considering I was touring Europe with a friend and had to work on them in my spare time whilst trying to make the most of London! - but I managed to get them done, despite not being 100% happy with the ones for Tuomas and Emppu. (You can see the pictures HERE if you want)
I gave them to the band, who (according to my aunt, who was watching) seemed delighted with them. I'm not sure; I was kinda passing out at that moment from excitement and nerves. XD
Anyway, Jukka flashed a gorgeous grin and Anette called me back and held out her hand for me to shake, which I did. :)

All in all a memorable week!

It's been a while since I saw Nightwish... over a month ago in Quebec City but I just remember I hadn't posted this here. Hehe.

I got there like 30 min before the show started but since I'm short nobody really cared and I managed to make it to first row. I love Canada. In Mexico, since everybody else is short, there's no way in hell I would've made it that far. Haha.

Hmm.. The setlist was, in no particular order:

I have tons of pictures but I'm too lazy to crop and upload them. XD They're all in my Facebook, though. So this was the third time I've seen them. First time with Anette, and first time outside of Mexico. :O Anette was, of course, wonderful. I only missed Tarja when they played Wishmaster and Wish I had an Angel (only the opera bit) since they both have different singing styles. Nevertheless, she was absolutely amazing! They all were.

This was also the first time I didn't cry at their concert. This is either because they didn't play my favorite songs (Ever Dream and Deep Silent Complete), or because I've seen them before and I'm slowly getting over the fangirl-ness. I've been a fan for 5 years so... yeah. Although, honestly, that's not even that long. I wish I had known about them before but being 15 and living in a small mexican city makes exposure to awesome bands a bit hard.

I can't wait to see them again. I might convince my boyfriend to take me to Toronto in September. I doubt it though.. but I can always dream!

The meet & greet was kind of shite. It took place right before the show, and security was pracictically tossing people through the line, and being fat bastards at that. Just before it was my turn to go up to the boys, I thought I'd lost my show ticket. I don't deal well with anxiety, so when I finally got up to the guys, I was having a panic attack, and only managed to get my booklet signed and Emppu's sig on my poster. I gave my paintings to the lads and lady, plus a gift from merisielu and me to Anette's son, and a stuffed poodle for Anette herself. I totally spaced giving a stuffed puppy to Jukka for his son, though I did have a security guy give to him after, but I totally forgot to give my rainbow teddy for Tuomas.

My HOME SLICES, merisielu and lenyberry came bearing gifts as well. Meri had made some gorgeous necklaces for the band and their family, along with letters filled with love. Leny brought syn arts, and it was no surprise that Tuomas could understand them.

I did preserve enough sanity to ask Tuomas if he would give my letter to his BFFB, Tony Kakko, which he smiled and said, "Of course." 8D

The show itself was BEAUTIFUL. Tuomas played passionately, making sweet sweet love with his keyboard. Emppu was super cute and laden with energy like ice cream with fudge. Jukka's drumming was powerful. Marco was sexy. And Anette sang like an angel who looked like she'd lost a fight to a roll of gift wrap.

Right before the show, some dicks were planning on booing Anette, so we built up our own foot stomping Amaranth Army, and you can bet the guys finally got the hint and shut up before they lost the ability to breed as well. That's no bueno, y'all.

I cried through about half the songs, sobbing like a little bitch at the first notes of Poet. That song is thirteen minutes of pure psychological agony.

There was a little girl in the audience, probably no more than twelve years old. Anette sang to her. Tuomas waved like a tard. And Emppu made sure to hand her one of his picks. It was the sweetest thing I've ever seen a band do, but the adorableness doesn't end there.

The next day, we met up with our friend, John Finburg, the tour agent for Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, and some other people. He'd sent Meri a text, "Come to the roulette table" She responded "We can't come on the gaming floor" so he wrote back with "Just come say hi and leave. I've got the gay drummer any gay keybard player" inviting us down to the casino floor (which we were not allowed in the first place.)We scuffled on down, where the frst thing we saw was Tuomas and Jukka sitting at the roulette table. We waved and said hi, and Tuomas grinned and waved to us in return. Jukka pretended we weren't there, in fear of the three retards in the Nightwish t-shirts. We said our goodbyes, and went on our merry way.

Once we got to the top of the stairs, after my sick and starstruck self nearly toppled down the stairs in a fit of delirium, John sent another message, saying, "They'll be at the Tournament of Kings tonight. They say it's fine if you want to be there and later too. We have rough plans of meeting somewhere after eight tonight."

Anywho, in honor of Mother's Day, I drew a little portrait of everybody's favorite MILF, which I'm hoping to give to her when I meet the lads and lass on the 24th.

'Tis far from finished, and needs to be assaulted with watercolor and colored pencils, but I hope it'll be worthy of giftage by the time of the concert.

I'm doing a portrait of each member, so prepare for updates. :)
