 | 09:08 am - Farewell And Good Luck I wish you all well.

Here is my brother. He is 100 percent Aleutian. We adopted him when he was two weeks old. My family all was from alaska, and he had fetal alcohol syndrome so he was a special needs and was going to need a lot of care. We now live in VA so there is not a lot of resources here for him to learn - he also has learning disabilities, so I try to learn for him and pass it down to him.
I am on the right. My grandmother as I understand was blackfeet. She died when I was two so I never able to talk to her about her heritage, which breaks my heart. My grandfather passed not too long after. My biological father is a drunken bast*rd who will not speak to us after my mother left him because he was phsyically abusive so I have not really been able to be too ask more infomration so I am kind of on my own here as he was the only child and seems to be the end of the line.
This is why my spirit guide led me to this group. But, as it was pointed out, my ignorance and posts were making some people uncomfortable, so I am moving on. I am sorry for the trouble. I am gratefule for little I did learn.
Peace to all of you.

 | 07:20 am - Black Stag? We are on a deer run so we see herds of deer every day. Recently, though, my husband and I have noticed an all black deeer. I have never seen this before. I can see little nubs starting to come in, so it looks like we have an all black stag coming through our area. He is going to be beautiful full grown. I want to get pictures as he grows. but this one is skittish. Thank goodness. I want to keep him that way to keep him away from the hunters. I wish I had the money to invest in a long distance lense camera with a night lense, etc. to really capture some pictures.
Anyone know anything about black stags in general? I do not know too much about them - in fact I had not heard about them. I had only heard about the white stag when I lived in England so this really surprised me.

 | 06:29 am - Tarot Card - The Tower - The only one that scares me in a reading I had a dream about doing a tarot reading and them badger came across and sat on the cards. The tower card was the only card I could see in the reading. This is a very significant dream because I have been very stressed over an issue at work. My work has refused my ADA case to make some simple changes for my migraines as well as disallowing me to telecommute even though they have two people in my division working from home who have NO medical need at all already. Also, I only wanted to do so occasionally if I was having problems, along with having some changes in light fixtures and higher walls or putting up a beach umbrella to cover up the flourescent lighting. They denied my case and I am in processs of an appeal. I will only say I work for one of the biggest companies in America so they can afford a few small changes.
I know the tower card should not make me panic, but so many times in the past after I have gotten this card in one of my readings, I have had my life turned upside down. Ok, so if you ask me later - months, or sometimes years later, if they change was for the better, I would have to say yes. It is just going through the chagne itself can be so hard.
Like now. This change of migraine and adjusting to this new life of never going outside in day. Having all the windows covered and never watching TV. This change has been hard, but so many good things on a peronal level are coming out of it.
ON a work level, it still sucks. I get so ill I am still blind in my left eye by the time I get get home. It am no longer recovering by sunday from the Flourescent ligthing by staying in the dark when I get home. I honestly do not believe they believe how painful my condition is or understand what I am going to. They are moving my desk to a brighter location, instead of a darker one. I think I am going to have to get a lawyer.
I am not sure what the lesson here is yet. Is the lesson of the badger? To fight until things are right? Force them to do the right thing for all employees in my position, when all others are too afraid?
Is my lesson to give up and find another career? I live in a rural area so this would be hard to supporrt my family to the same level.
I think that badger is telling me to fight the good fight because it is the right thing to do.
Thanks, badger, for giving me courage to stand up. I need pictures and statues, etc for my desk for my moments of frustration and weaknesss for you have already brought me strength. I love you, badger.

 | 09:32 am - Message From Badger Last Night I did a guided meditation "Meet Your Power Animal A Drumming Journey"
This was my firt meditation CD with drumming. I cannot say enough how WONDERFUL and how much the drumming helped!
First let me say, I always just assumeed my totem was either Frog - because I was born on leapy year- everyone always gave me frogs, so I have stone frogs and frogs all over - or Crow - because they are so common in my area and frequently speak to me and bring me feathers and messages - or moths - for the same reason.
I also realize that you can have lifetime totems and you can have totem guides that come to you in momements of need, so I thought it was time for me to do some further investigation.
My first thought as I was starting was "watch it be something I never suspected, like a badger" I used to draw badgers when I lived in England. Badger was a character in Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe and in the Beatrice Potter Books I used to read when I was small. We grew up in the area the latter books were based on, so the characters were a large part of my childhoold.
Through the meditation, I met up with Badger several times. I then fell asleep.
I learned two an important lesson.
1- never do a medition CD with a migraine after taking migraine meditation 2- I need to learn to control my inner badger.
So, I don't know what badger means to me. I can tell you when my husband read the description, he laughed his ass off and said it described my nature to a T in a way that none of the other totems I have investigated ever have. He says I need to learn to control my inner badger.
BADGER
Cunning badger of the forest, Guide me to wisdom, truth and light. All injustices against me, Wipe clean the slate and set them right.
The power of the Badger totem is its aggressiveness and the willingness to fight for what it wants. This aggression can also be turned to healing - for Badger is the keeper of Earth's healing herbs.
I am having problems with LJ cuts again, so you can get more info on badge on my journal

 | 09:22 am - upcoming predictions. I keep feeling them along with the earht unrest, so I still think something biggre is coming - bigger than has already happened. Something that will be more shocking than we have seen in 40-50 years.
Tuesday 18th August Major military action – bigger deaths more countries involved?
Between full moon(today) and about two weeks, closer to a week august I feel another earthquake/volcano
Big storm - maybe this is what is going on but I doubt it. I feel it deep in the earth, not in the air or on the earth's surface.
Every night I burn a candle to protect as many people I can and to minimize the pain. Mother earth needs to correct an imbalance. What we see as cruel is actually healing to gai and needs to be done - over thousands of years, man will be better off and healthier perhaps if mother earth is healther. So for this, I can only light candles to help those in the path to listen to their guides and leave the area or to go to safe places, etc.
As far as the war - I have no idea what to do. I see the pendulum of violence oscillating back towards WW3. I have no idea what to do hear, other than the same I am doing above, lighting candles for those civilians in the way to get out of the way. I am lighting candles to bring wisdom to leaders, but I think they do not want to listen to wisdom. If they did, we would not be in the state we are to begin with.
Maybe it is just the violence and unrest that I feel, but I do feel a lot of unrest going on in the fields of the earths fields.

 | 06:59 pm - need a source for frames I am in need of some assistance. A friend of mine, an Unangan (Aluet), asked me to make a drum for her, like those of her People.
I have looked at pictures of the drums, they are quite different from the frame drums that I was taught to make, but I am quite sure I think I know how they are made.
My main stumbling block is where to get the frames. I make my own frames...but I make "sided" frames from Red Cedar...the Unanga use thin round frames made of thin plies (of Birch?). The only places I can find to buy frames from sell them 2 1/2" thick...the typical depth of a frame drum from the "lower 48". The Unanga drums are about 1/2 as thin. I would just get one of those 2 1/2" deep frames and run it through a ban saw and cut it in half (and then have two frames to make 2 drums). But, I am not sure if the integrity of the frame would still be there.
Also, I am not sure of to how to do this online...I know how I would do this in person. So, to any Unanga or member of another People of that area...I would like to [virtually] offer tobacco wrapped in red cloth...
yes, this is a picture of the actual bundle of tobacco that I am offering
so that I might ask if someone would share with me some stories and traditions of the drum from your/their culture. This is not an empty gesture, I will indeed send you tobacco...which was hand harvested (but not by me) in South Dakota, wrapped in red cloth- once I have an address to send it to. But, unfortunately in this format, I could not place the tobacco in your hand before asking...I apologize for that.
My private email is Michael.RedTurtle@gmail.com, if you want to communicate privately.
EDIT- as a response Noyeh (because I cannot figure out how to post pics in a reply)...The first pic is the kind of frame that I make. The other is a frame made in thin ply...which I do not have the tools/equipment/ability/skills to make.

EDIT #2-FYI to drum makers who've yet to learn to make their own drums, or need frames now and do not have time to make their frames....http://drumframes.com/default.aspx
This guy uses Cedar to make circular hand drum frames. He makes the typical frames most of us see in drums at Pow Wows.
When I asked him about the thinner frames he said he's willing to make them, but they are the same price. His price for Cedar round hand drum frames is the same as the ones I usually get that are made from Maple. mvto, Michael Redturtle

 | 02:08 pm - Owl Dream This Seems VERY Important
I was outside in my yard with my four dogs at dusk playing. Suddenly, two HUGE brown owls starting swooping down at me. They had large horned over their eyes. Their eyes were golden and piercing, looking and golden looked at me and said The message was so important they both had to come.
My black lab’s instinct, of course, being a bird dog, was to chase the owls. The owls had to swoop to avoid the lab and to try to face me at the same time to look into my mind to give me the message. The female said to me “Remember, this message was important enough for us to die to give to. Never forget this.”
I looked over and saw the male, feathers strewn all over the lawn, and I started to cry.
I have never really dreamt of owls before, so I am unsure what to make of this. The message they were carrying seemed very important for me to get, though, so I neeed to figure this out.

 | 09:55 am - WALK FOR THE WATER Many Horses Foundation Presents
Walk for the Water -------------------------------------- JOIN NATIVE AMERICAN ELDERS AND INDIGENOUS PEOPLE FROM AROUND THE WORLD http://walkforthewater.org/images/italywalkemail.png
MAY 30th 2008 - JUNE 10th 2008 WALK FOR THE WATER
WE WALK FOR LIFE, FOR THE WATER AND FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS
May, 2008 WOODSTOCK, GA.
Georgia is not the only state that has suffered in the recent drought. The concern for water and who has the rights to what water is being fought over everywhere. The difference in the state of Georgia is that there are concerned people doing something about it.
The Many Horses Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to honoring and teaching Native American values and tradition that concern the earth and the natural world. Located in Woodstock Ga, this organization has made a bold decision to change this situation by organizing a 10-DAY WALK FOR THE WATER.
The Walk will start at the headwaters of the Chattahoochee River on May 30, 2008 and end on June 10, 2008 in a traditional Native American Ceremony in Atlanta, Ga. "Our mission is to increase awareness of our responsibility to the natural world and to water, which sustains all of life. We will bring focus to the need for water, water conservation and water purity," said Gary FourStar, founder of Many Horses Foundation.
Native American Elders from across the nation are coming to support The Walk. Everyone, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background is asked to walk. The people will walk for life, for the water and for future generations.
Dr. Masaru Emoto, best-selling author of "The Hidden Messages In Water," is planning to come to Atlanta. His photographic studies have illustrated how water responds to words and thoughts and how we can influence the healing of the water through our words and songs. At the walk's conclusion, the public is invited to share an evening with world renowned author Dr. Masaru Emoto and Native Americans spiritual elders, artists and environmentalists as they merge ancient teachings and modern science at 7:00 pm, June 10, 2008 at the World Congress Center, Atlanta, Ga. Buy your tickets for June 10th online at www.walkforthewater.org <http://www.walkforthewater.org/> .
