[Sunday, October 5th 2008] angelkutty [ mood | dorky ] [ music | Lifehouse - We'll Never Know ] So the deadline for a lot of states is Monday to register to vote, but it is not necessarily the deadline for every state. If you are not registered and do not know how to register or what you need to do, don't fret! It can be a confusing process. My suggestion is Yahoo's election page. It lists the registration deadline for every state on the main page and you can check out the qualifications needed for each state individually. For example, you can register to vote in Wisconsin basically up until election day [and even on election day]. And you don't necessarily need a WI drivers license to show proof of residence, quite a few different forms of identification work including university IDs. And there are special rules for first time voters and the such. So this is basically my way of trying to get as many people as possible registered. I really don't care who you vote for as long as you vote! If you haven't realized in these past 2 presidential elections that every vote matters then you really have not been paying attention. FEED ME [Sunday, October 5th 2008] pinkneonchick Clothes room, done! Curtains, hung! Photos sometime soon. I am so hungry. A guy  I used to semi-date used to get on my case about not eating enough A LOT. He'd say I had shrunken my stomach to the point where my appetite was non existant. I believe he was right and I believe the opposite has now happened and I have stretched my stomach so much I AM INSATIABLE! Did I mention I found my beloved Wild Cherry M&Ms recently and bought 4 huge bags of them?  Three are still in tact and I shared a lot of them at work so I didnt demolish them on my own... however the remaining M&Ms are now taunting me from my bag which I put them in to bring more to work. Taunting me! EAT US! EAT US! Damn you M&Ms. I will gladly eat you! Just not before bed! By the way - I am loving Project Runway. While I think Kinley makes pretty clothes her attitude SUCKS and I'm glad Heidi and the judges gave her a verbal bitch slap about her attitude. I am also now addicted to Gossip Girl and the Rachel Zoe project (I love her now, she may not dress that fabulous but she can choose great clothes for others). Argh.   Oh and Weeds season 4 was great. Well the first half was hysterical and the second half was ok.  Oh AND Girls NExt Door just came on again. And Top Chef starts next month. I am a TV Addict!! Fortunately with the new work I do at my job I have the opportunity to watch approximately 10-15 hours of TV A week at work so I get it all out of the way there and then I get to do other things at home. Also... [Sunday, October 5th 2008] pinkneonchick It has been suggested that I take my money out of Wachovia and go to another bank. I don't know much about economy/politics/etc. I had considered switching when I first heard that they were being sold but my boyfriend told me it shouldn't be a huge deal because I don't have excessive amounts of money in the bank so I should be covered by insurance should anything happen.. But now all the Wachovia's near us are closing and I'm thinking of changing to another bank but am not sure where to go. I Was thinking Commerce because if you lose your ATM Card they will print you one right there AND they're open on Sundays but then I heard their online bill pay isn't that great (and I do all my bills online!). Anyone have any bank suggestions?  Oh and NOT M&T Bank because they suck. Gotta Get Summore 3 Crank The Baseline

House progress photos [Saturday, October 4th 2008] pinkneonchick I am so far from where I want to be with the house. My things need to be organized big time. Part of the issue is that I went from having a ginormous desk to a small desk which is actually a kitchen table from ikea (see photo below). I have a high desk so I can stand at it when I get home from work instead of sitting at the computer after I have sat all day long. I also have a smaller table so I don't have a place to put things all the time which leads to me having to put things away more often rather than let them pile up. My goal for this weekend is organize the clothes room and try to hang up all our pictures/photos/etc. If I have more time I'd like to get the "Office/hangout room" finished but I am going to do what I can and not overwhelm myself. Some photos are below... I am noticing they are more blurry than they seemed on my camera... perhaps it is more damaged than it appears to be :(... may also be because I resized them and then LJ resized them again for me and I can't figure out how to (quickly) fix it so I am leaving them.   ( As promised some progress photos below the cut... )   We have a lot of work to do on the house still bu it will come together. In other news our washer broke with my clothes in it two days ago. It overflowed and flooded but fortunately there is a drain in the basement floor so there wasn't too much damage (thank god bc I had JUST moved all of my books down there the day before). Our landlord came to replace the washer today while I wasn't home and I made sure to remind them to take my clothes out (I didn't know they were coming or I'd have done it myself). Our roommate Jason called me around 8pm to tell me that they had forgotten and my clothes were taken to the dump with the old washer. This includes the clothes I wear most of the time: including the only jeans I have left that fit me, MOST of my work clothes, etc. I was having an anxiety attack and started to cry while trying to call him back to get them to get in touch with someone to GET MY DAMN CLOTHES. Turns out it was a practical joke which I really didn't appreciate or find funny. Also JAson is dating my friend Michelle who was here and texted me to warn me of said joke like a wonderful friend but I unfortunately didnt get her message until AFTER I spoke to him. Roommate has apologized immensely but it's still upsetting. But at least my clothes are ok, phew. Crank The Baseline

debaters [Saturday, October 4th 2008] legal_tender I hate political debates. Not the ones on TV, the ones between people. I hate them almost as much as I hate religious debates. I understand the need to talk about your viewpoint/opinion and to get all the facts out there that maybe the other party didn't know about, etc. etc. But that rarely seems to happen in my experience. It's just some overblown emotional explosion that doesn't tend to have much backing. I rarely speak up during anything like that. I just soak it all in, look up anything I didn't previously know about, and form my own opinion. But every once in awhile someone will have some completely irrational argument that I just have to point out. I don't even care which side it's on. If it's irrational, I will say, THAT my friend, is irrational and this is why. Heehee Religious debates are useless to me. One side is factual, scientific. One side is faith-based. I think it's personal. I think both political and religious choices are personal. I guess that's why people get so fired up about them. It's like music. People choose to like a certain type of music, a certain song, a certain artist, because it has some personal meaning or emotion. When somebody walks up and bashes your choice in music, it feels like a personal attack. I would like to hear more debates where people ask questions and talk about them. There's too much finger-pointing or bending of quotes and actions. Gotta Get Summore 4 Crank The Baseline
