So here was my day yesterday in its entirety, with almost every boring detail. I woke up at 10:30am, went to Fry’s for hair moose to do my hair all messy and stringy like John 5, then went to WAL-MART to get black and white makeup. Then I got dressed for the show, put on my boots, and left for the greyhound bus station behind the Rialto Theater (may it rest in peace) at around 12:40pm. I got there, met Krista, and waited around until like 2:00pm.Then we boarded the bus bound for Phoenix and settled in. Krista fell asleep but I couldn’t sleep because I couldn’t lean back in my chair since it was broke. Anyway, we got there around 4:30pm and we both went to the bathroom, so I could put on my makeup and do my hair and so she could change into her black vinyl dress (hotness). So yeah- it took me probably 20 or 30 minutes to put on my hair and makeup, and throughout the time I was in there, maybe 30 people came in and used the bathroom but only 5 washed their hands, but it was probably because they saw some freak (me) putting on Halloween makeup a little early at a bus station ant they probably thought I was a terrorist putting on a disguise or something. I figured out how I was going to do my makeup- I had already decided on a white face, but I couldn’t decide on what to do with the black until I got all the white on. I decided to match my hair and duplicate John 5’s makeup when they played the love song live in Germany, which was all white with a huge “X” across your whole face and smeared red lipstick.  Once I finished and went out to the lobby area to lock our backpacks in a locker, everybody kept looking at me and giving me weird looks, but sometimes I just LOVE negative attention, so I just enjoyed every nasty little face everybody gave me. Anyway, we made sure we had everything we needed, locked our stuff in the locker, and went outside to have a cigarette and got a taxi. This dude totally fucked us over on the fare. He wanted 15 bucks to take us 4.2 miles from the Station to the Dodge Theater, and we didn’t want to throw a fuss over trying to get a cheaper taxi driver, so we said fuck it and got in and headed to the Theater. We got to where we were right at the theater, and then Krista (goddamned her for this) says,”Oh, shit; my ticket- I left it in the locker”, so we had no choice but to go back, and then the driver said it’ll be another 15 to go back. WHAT THE FUCK!!?!?!?!?!! What other choice do we have? So we do it and figure on walking to the theater after, but he gave us our first “break” and said he’ll wait for us and take us back to the theater for 30 total, so we did. We went in got the ticket and left, but then he picked up a couple more people and eventually got us there at like 6:00, and doors didn’t open until like 6:45- 7:00pm. So I hid the straps to my pants, stuffed the 4 spare batteries in my boots, looped the wristband for the camera around by belt and then hid the camera in my pants. They patted me down, let me in, and asked for my ticket, so I looked in my wallet where I always keep my ticket, and it wasn’t there. My adrenaline started pumping as well as my heart, and then I found it in my back pocket. (Dumb ass, I know) Anyway, I got in, and started looking for people w/ General Admission wristbands and asking them if I could borrow their ticket, and got turned down or brushed off several times before succeeding. Once I got a ticket, I just went up to the club level and chilled with Krista for a while until I got to thinking. What if they don’t just ask to see your wristband and they also ask to see your ticket? So I went on looking for another ticket so Krista could get in too, because she worships Manson, so that would’ve been fucked up if I didn’t help her out on such a night. After once again being turned down and brushed off, persistence eventually paid off and I got another ticket. So now we could go anywhere except the GA (only until we got our wristbands), so we got as close as we could and watched the first band for about 3 songs and then decided to go and execute the MASTER PLAN to get into GA before Manson. I went over to the table where they issue the wristbands and told them this verbatim: “I was just in the mosh pit and I got knocked down and my wristband got torn off”. Confident in the dirty little scheme, I waited for them to answer. They asked for my ticket, so I gave it to them and they handed it right back and told me that I was out of luck, because the ticket was already X’ed out to void it so it couldn’t be used more than once. Usually it doesn’t even matter if it has an X on it or not- if you tell them it got torn off in the pit, 10 times out of 10 they’ll issue you a new wristband. I had no idea what to do now because that trick NEVER failed me before- this was a first, but I was determined and persistent. I wouldn’t let up until I got in. So I went back and asked them what I could do, they said nothing, I asked more security, no help, so I finally said fuck it- I’m going down to the 2^nd main entrance to General Admission and told Krista to do the same thing on the other side’s entrance. I told the security the same thing I told the wristband dudes, and there was a little confusion, and they slapped a candy apple red wristband on me and let me in. I got ½-way across to the center of GA and saw Krista, she had gotten in too, but they didn’t give her a wristband- they just looked at her ticket and let her in. We were both in, and the opening band was still playing. I decided to get a couple pictures of the opening band just for the hell of it,

and those came out ok, and we basically just waited around for them to finish their set and have Manson take the stage. Once the opening band finished, we waited probably an hour (or more) before Manson came on.

O.K. At Ozzfest 2 years ago, Marilyn Manson played for only 1/2 an hour, leaving much to be desired. But last night was a different story. The pre-show song that they play to let everybody know that the show is minutes away (like Slipknot’s “742617000027”) was a really weird piano-playing, 50’s horror movie music like out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie. Then the curtain fell down and  they started off with track one on the Portrait album,

then they went into The Love Song (thankyou), then another song which I didn’t know, followed by mOBSCENE. Everything went just as I had planned, for the most part- I moshed a little and didn’t get tired, which is good, I crowdsurfed once during Get Your Gunn, and got pictures during Prelude (The Family Trip) , The Love Song, mOBSCENE, Disposable Teens, The Dope Show, Tourniquet, The Nobodies, Personal Jesus, Sweet Dreams and The Beautiful People. One of the people we borrowed a GA  ticket from bumped into us earlier and wanted the ticket back, so we were down to one GA ticket for two people. Then, during Lunchbox, I went up to the club level to get a picture of the stage from far away with the whole crowd in the frame as well, and when I got back down, The Beautiful People was playing and I couldn’t find Krista anywhere in GA. Then this dude said she got kicked out, so I went and found her and she told me she got kicked out because she didn’t have a wristband or a ticket, so I went and got her another ticket from somebody else (the first person I asked)

and gave it to her, and so far ad the wristband goes, (you’re never going to believe this coincidence ) During one of the songs, they shot out long streamers that were the same exact candy apple red color and width as the wristbands, so I picked one up off the ground and tied it around her wrist and she got in no problem just as The Beautiful People finished. Then, long awaited, he played antichrist superstar last, and then abruptly walked off stage. By the time the concert was over, for the first time at a concert lately, I was craving more- alot more- I just had alot of energy that night, and not smoking has definitely helped too.

Then, at around 11:20, aching and sore and still wearing uncomfortable huge ass Nazi- stomper boots, we started walking back to the bus station, stopping everywhere we could to get directions, then we stopped at a circleK to get some food (we only had 5 bucks) and so we go inside, her still wearing the black vinyl dress and

me still painted like Halloween, get our food, and then after searching for a minute or two, I realize I must have lost the 5 bucks at some point, so we leave empty handed and broke as a bum and continued walking until we arrived at our destination, after probably 7 miles of walking, total. It was 12:33am when we got inside the station, and we immediately went to the locker and try to open it, but there is a 2 dollar charge to open it back up, so we do the only thing we could- I went to the bathroom and washed off my makeup while Krista begged for change, and when I came out of the bathroom, she already had like 3 bucks, so we got our stuff, and waited for the bus to come and take us back to Tucson. We waited for what didn’t seem too long, but by the time we got on the bus, it was 2:10am and 2:20 by the time we left. I don’t think I fell asleep on the bus, because I didn’t dream at all, and I could hear my CD player playing, and once it shut off, I could hear the bus all the way until we got into Tucson at 4:21am, but I was only listening for like 20 minutes. It was weird. Anyway, I spent the night at Krista’s, smoked a bowl, talked about Manson for a while, and then passed out at around 5:00 am, just as the sun was rising. Then I woke up at 10:20 this morning (I was supposed to go to my writing class at Pima Northwest at 8:10, but I slept right through it)

I tried and tried and tried and tried, but try as I might, I couldnt get a half decent picture of the drummer,

nor could I identify him. Can anybody help me out here?

Who the FUCK is that? I'm almost certain it's not John 5 for several reasons- it doesnt look like John 5, his hair is way too long, he wasnt playing with John 5's signature Fender Telecaster guitar at any time- the only guitars he used was a variety of Gibson Les Pauls. Anybody have any idea who this might be?

This is of when he first came on stage and the curtain was dropped, they started off playing  the Prelude (The Family Trip) from Portrait, and he came out holding a chandelier; you can see it in the pic.

After the Prelude, they went right into The Love Song

One thing that all rockers love is to get the audience singing with them. Manson thought that if you got a guy with no head onstage with a 15 foot long boom arm and a mic and have him hang it over the crowd, that would get people into it more than if he just held his own mic out to the crowd, and guess what? He was absoultely right- Jesus those people were loud! So yeah he got everybody to help him sing mOBSCENE.

One thing that I thought was really cool about the stage's setup was the net lighting backdrop capable of showing patterns and all kinds of stuff, such as "DRUGS" in the pic above during The Dope Show.

During Sweet Dreams he had his usuall droplight. I loved hearing Sweet Dreams, as well as every single motherfucker in there. Loved it.

During the second to the last song, The Beautiful People, they made use of the net lighting backdrop and displayed a spinning Antichrist Superstar logo, and then he finished off with Antichrist Superstar.
