Aboutletter-writing is a lost art. this community is an effort to hang on to and perhaps reinvent this art. here is the concept:
- you join (membership is moderated. you must have a demonstrable ability to string words together in complete sentences and a basic grasp of grammar and syntax.)
- you introduce yourself (suggestions below).
- you find someone or multiple someones you want to write to and exchange mailing information (publicly or privately, your choice.)
- bingo! good ol' snail mail.
suggested introduction topics:
- your name
- your favourite author
- what you like to do in your spare time
- gut-wrenching emotional outpourings
- life, the universe and everything
- puppies and kittens and fluffy bunnies
- a bit about your writing style
- why you joined this community in the first place
- why writing letters appeals to you
rules:
- no spam
- no abuse, or you will promptly be escorted off the premises
- no stalking
- respect of others, as always, is expected
