I'm a writer looking for other writers, or at least someone who can write a good letter, to write to. I love the idea of allowing a friendship to unfold over time, letter by letter. My ideal penpal is someone who would be interested in sharing thoughts, opinions, and the details of our evolving lives long-term, over a period of years. I realise that this kind of friendship isn't something you can engineer, but I hope that by stating my intentions up-front I'll at least be giving it a good try!

A little about me: I write fiction and poetry, and I'm also a naturopath (i.e. a practitioner of natural medicine). I live with my partner and our two cats, who I'm very fond of. I love young adult fiction, herbal tea, napping outdoors, picnics, the beach, hatha yoga, dancing (though I'm very bad at it), chocolate and cats. I'm dedicated to personal growth and I'm a very introspective person. I'm also a classic introvert.

I don't see much use in listing my favourite books, films or foods, because I personally don't find it all that useful in forming my idea of a person, but if you'd like to know those things, please let me know.

I love to receive long letters, handmade envelopes, mix CDs, stationary and art. I would like snail mail pen pals from any country. Nothing is as exciting as mail love. My only tattoo is an envelope with a heart on my left wrist. I've been writing to pen pals since I was 15, and I can't imagine it not being a part of my life. While I'm in school, it may sometimes take me months to respond to letters (although it’s often less), but I will always get back to you. I'd love to hear from you! My mailbox has been rather empty lately.

03:49 am - Looking for pen pals with things in common or similarities to myself
If anyone knows someone who'd make a good friend or pen pal for me, please let me know or give them my info

Name: Victoria
Sex: Female
Age: 30
Birthday: January 31st, 1983
Zodiac Sign: Aquarius

Interests: I am highly interested in ghosts, ghost hunting, and weird or unexplained things. That includes aliens, Bigfoot, chupacabra, black-eyed kids, orbs etc. I am also into mythological creatures and being Pagan I half belief in them being real... such as faeries, elves, elemental/nature spirits, mermaids, etc. I am kind of into "new age" things, though in reality some are old age. I am into herbs and herbalism, crystals, tarot, and reading books on anything "new age" things. I love incense, candles, thunderstorms, the moon. I love playing games, video games (I adore Nintendo) and online games, FB games even. I love watching ghost shows (so many of them, too many to name), cartoons (The Amazing World of Gumball, Adult Swim cartoons, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy, etc), and other things sometimes like LOLPets. I adore animals and actually kind of like them more than people. I love nature. I am also into abandoned buildings, want to get into urban exploring but have no one to do so with. I own a metal detector and love to find lost treasures and just things in general. I love finding interesting things lying on the ground. There are some people out there into finding lost letters and pictures on the ground etc, I am one of them. These are treasures to me. I am in a way, like a child... my child spirit is definitely within me. I love rainbows, feathers, and rocks! I own a rock tumbler but don't know where to find interesting rocks to tumble. I adore bubbles, sidewalk chalk, glow in the dark and UV things! Currently my hair is blue with my bangs being green but I used UV dye, so it'll glow under blacklight... I am not a raver either! I am into the raver look, with everything being brightly colored and UV! I am also into the gypsy/bohemian look and into gypsy magick. I adore vampires, blood, gore, and horror movies. Horror art, or well, horror photography is something I'd love to do or get into! I love the "goth" look as well, as all the others I like.

Described as: I am insightful, described as cerebral, and I am very quiet (people ALWAYS comment on that)

Tattoos/Piercings: Ears and septum, had a navel piercing but well, it's no longer... and plan on a lot more, my lip at least 3x and I want to eventually see if my body can handle dermal anchors and corset piercings... I read they can last for up to a year, and I think that'd be alright with me! I love piercings! Tattoos, I am unsure of but have some ideas I've been contemplating over the years!

Who are your favorite bands/singers/music?: Tapping the Vein, Brainwave/Binaural Beats music (I have a station for it on Pandora but discovered them before that), Within Temptation, FlyLeaf, Staind, Disturbed, Counting Crows, OTEP, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Ellie Goulding, LIGHTS,

Favorite Books: Dangerous Angels, Violet and Claire... anything by Francesca Lia Block, Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife, A Certain Slant of Light -- currently reading Mysteries of the Unexplained and I love these sorts of books and it's getting me back into reading when I haven't for a few years now it seems-- yes, pretty sad

Favorite Movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, What Dreams May Come, The Fountain, Silent Hill, Nightmare Before Christmas, Pan's Labyrinth, MirrorMask, Labyrinth, Legend, Interview with The Vampire, The Neverending Story, Ultraviolet, The Fifth Element, Underworld

Favorite T.V. Show(s): Ghost Adventures, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Stories and The Amazing World of Gumball (sometimes)... I watch nothing consistently except the ghost shows but sometimes I also watch (and love) Criminal Minds

Pen pals: I would like 2-3 pen pals from the US (one from outside the US is acceptable) and would love someone who would write first

08:33 pm - Hi there...
i there,

I'm on the lookout for a few e-mail pals who can put up with my long ramblings (aka long e-mails) & who can send me some long e-mails in return;-).

I did try trolling the e-pals posting, but it seems as if folks are mostly interested in exchanging long snail mails. When it comes to e-mail, they seem to be taking the shorter option. Well, I guess, I should have known... after all we e-mailers prefer emoticons to real words, right???

I spend a lot of time reading fiction-mysteries/thrillers (oh yeah, I love my cheap thrills), but isn't limited to any specific authors. I dig around the internet (especially amazon) and if something catches my fancy, I end up reading it & if happen to like the stuff, I will just get the authors entire collection. I also love travelling to new places. Sounds interesting, huh???

What else? Oh yeah - why am I looking for an e-mail pals? Once upon time, in the distant past, I used to be in this business but then got pulled into life and then somewhere along the line it stopped. Life still continue to be hectic & monotonous, but I think it would be interesting to reach out to new people and getting their perspectives. Besides, I miss the excitement and suspense of waiting to read the next long e-mail from the other side!!!

I'm not sure if I can write e-mails daily - heck, if I could write, I would have done my office memos on time. I do try and keep-up, but a reasonable expectation would be twice or thrice a week. I don't expect you to write more then 1 page & won't hold you to send out a 1 pager every time.

Gotta sign off now, if you still want to brave it out exchanging e-mails with me, you know what to do

Thanks for making it till this far.
Aj

03:44 am - Dream on dreamboat.
Yo. Yo. Yo.
You can call me Kirpet.

Before you even start reading let me forewarn you that I’m only on the market for e-mail pals at this time. I have a bad habit of not making it to the mailbox, shit happens right? Now, back to my ever so boooooring “about me” speech.

I’m 24, female, and a full time student at Edison State “University,” it’s still a community college to me, lol. I’m addicted to Skyrim and go to the 24hr Starbucks at 1am to write. In fact that’s where I am right now and it’s 7am (been here since a lil’ past midnight). Part of me wants to go home but I know if I do I’ll go to sleep and that just seems cruel seeing as I have my therapy appointment in four hours and I live a lil’ under an hour away. Although with traffic it’s probably a good hours drive right now.

I’m getting of topic.

Therapy. Yes. I go to it. Have for three years.

I suffer from the dreaded PTSD due to a shit childhood and I do talk about it. It being my therapy, my past, my PTSD and all the lovely side effects it comes with. i.e. self-injury, anxiety, depression, troubles with alcohol, etc. If that’s not your cup-o-tea then we’re just not meant to be. Please keep scrolling.

Things I enjoy…. Hmmmm. I suppose Paul McCartney is definitely up there. During a “get to know you” survey in my Drawing 1 course last semester we were asked to pick one thing that made us happy and I answered with Paul McCartney; so yes he should undoubtedly be up there.

I’m not super huge in to any fandom; in fact I find it rare that my conversations deal primarily with anything in the entertainment field. What I enjoy are philosophical conversations. There really isn’t much I adore more than the sharing of ideas, the only thing that can compare is sharing stories about each other’s experiences. Not just facts either, more emotional. Stating facts of what you’ve been through or accomplished in life is boring. I want to know what you thought/think about it. What, if anything, did it change about you? I like my conversations like I like my bowls of cereal, deep.

I don’t mean to be rude but I’m not particularly interested being e-mail pals with mother’s/father’s. It’s not that I have anything against people who have started down that path of life. That’s just something that is very far away for me so it’s hard for me to relate, and from my experience people with children tend to find it quite difficult to talk about anything else for any length of time. This doesn’t mean I will out right refuse to talk with you, I’m up to giving just about anyone a shot. Just realize that I don’t want to hear about every “amazing” thing your child did. Also, you sports fanatics, we wouldn’t have much to talk about. Rarely do I follow any sporting event/team.

When it comes to what college degree I’m seeking I can’t seem to make a decision and stick with it. I continuously jump between, psychology, art, or computer sciences. I wouldn’t mind talking with someone who dabbled in the arts; it’d be fun to share art via scans/pictures. (I’ll be taking Drawing 2 this fall so I’ll have plenty to share.)

Politics, I don’t want to talk about politics. No one ever is able to civilly discuss them. There are just too many emotions tied to a lot of it. But if it matters to you I am basically anti-conservative and I follow no religion and am a gazillion times pro LGBT rights.

When it comes to e-mail length I want someone who is intellectual, goofy and caring; that’s all that really matters to me. Now if I wind up writing you some 2k word e-mail (which is very likely to happen) and I only get a 20 word in response, well honey that ain’t gonna fly.

Age is of no serious matter to me and gender… well I have issues trusting men but I’m willing to give it a shot. NO RELATIONSHIPS. If I start to get a whiff of potential crushing I will fall of the edge of the solar system. Preferably I would like a female around my age and someone from Britain would be like the sprinkles on top of my strawberry e-mail sundae. AKA, wicked.

The coffee has taken its toll on this entry and I apologize. I can’t say my e-mails will never be this random and ramblicious, if I did I would be lying.

I leave you with basically my all-time favorite Elton John song and a picture of me:

under the cut.Collapse )
