How did you discover them?: I heard a few of their songs a couple of months back and liked them, but didn't really went out of my way to get their albums. Then I saw them open for Kamelot in August -- despite technical issues, they were really good. I picked up Lovelorn at the gig, got Vinland Saga for Christmas (most gorgeous booklet art EVER), and have been hooked ever since.

How did you discover them?: I think it was here in Livejournal. I came across them in some community. I'm into female fronted metal and I adore Liv Kristine, so I was quite sure that I would also like Leaves' Eyes. So I went to a record store and bought Vinland Saga. ♥

Leaves' Eyes and Atrocity last night was awesome :)

Was disappointed with the size of the crowd (I'm sure there wouldn't have been more than 100 people there), but it meant I could get up close and personal to Liv. How up close? How about front and centre of the stage, so close that I high-fived Alex (lead singer of Atrocity) and sang into his mike. And so close that Liv Kristine held my hand (on three seperate occasions!!), looked into my eyes and smiled and sang to me. *siiiighs*

Alex was funny - they had to move the fan off the front of the stage because his hair kept getting caught in it.

Both bands sounded fantastic! And so nice and friendly. Lots of chat with the crowd between songs, high-fiving, etc.

Atrocity closing with a cover of Shout by Tears for Fears was great fun :D

And Liv lead a chant of "Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!" which was too adorable.

Whole thing ended up finishing after midnight with two songs as encore from Leaves' (Norwegian Lovesong and Elegy).

A magical, magical evening - I wish I didn't have to be at work today otherwise I would have hung around to have a few beers with the band .

How did you discover them?: I had heard of them by one of my lj friends, but I had kinda forgotten about the mentioning of them. My boyfriend was looking to download songs from Lacuna Coil's new album [KarmaCode] when he in fact dowloaded the song, "Elegy" instead. [Mistaking the song for a Lacuna Coil one. Obviously a file misprint.] He played the song for me, and I liked it. I knew it wasn't Lacuna Coil, but I couldn't place the name. So finally, tonight, as we were at the mall, we found "Vinland Saga" and previewed it, realizing that it was Leaves' Eyes the whole time. [Yes, thats semi-long-winded, but c'est la vie.]

LEAVES' EYES and ATROCITY - September Australian tour

So yesterday I bought the non-autographed edition of Legend Land, and it had a sticker on it reading "Liv Kristine's Leaves' Eyes + Atrocity Australian Tour Sept 2006"

After a bit of hunting around the internet, I've been able to find information on one date so far. The only date I have found so far is for the Corner Hotel in Melbourne:

Hey folks,

Here's a question for ya: What's your favourite song on "Legend Land"? Just thought I'd ask and see what other people thought.

Personally my fave has to be "Skraelings". I just think the chorus is amazing and I love all the Native American sounds in the song. Plus there's also Alex's Native American 'rapping' which is so funny to listen to.

What are your plans for the summer?

2006 is a busy year! I will perform at around twenty festivals, with Leaves’ Eyes or with my solo project. Afterwards, we will play a lot of shows in Australia and America. When I am not on the road, my favourite waste of time involves my family and my wonderful garden. Also, I love the forest, no matter what season we have. My son Leon is a great “discoverer”, he always loves to learn more about animals and plants. That was one of the cornerstones in my own education and I am deeply thankful
for that!
