As most of you know, Lauren's official website disappeared a few years ago. In fact, the site was gone before I even started watching Mutant X, so I never got a chance to see it. Happily, I was able to find a web archive of the site here, with some great pictures and Lauren's biography, written by Lauren herself. :) I actually hadn't known that she had been nominated for a Gemini in 2002 for her role as Evil Emma in Mutant X's "Double Vision."


Lauren Lee Smith's Biography

I was Born in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1980. I am the stepdaughter of a documentary filmmaker and as a consequence, I became well acquainted with a public lifestyle at a young age. It was my exposure to filmmaking that ignited my desire to act. I traveled the world with my family as a child. When I was 14, my stepfather moved the family to Los Angeles, California. There I was approached by a fashion scout and quickly began a professional modeling career. At 19 I went back to Vancouver after several international fashion shoots.

In August 1999 I signed with an agent. Shortly thereafter, I was cast for my first professional acting job-a featured role in "Get Carter" starring Sylvester Stallone. Since then I have appeared on shows such as MTV's boy band parody "2Gether" and James Cameron's new series "Dark Angel" for FOX.

In 2000 I was busy shooting the three part mini-series "Christy" in which I play the lead charactor. I am pleased with the final products and I am sure those who enjoyed the first film will love the final conclusion!

lara's back in the L word! I hope she stays, I think she is great. Does anyone know if Lauren is straight or gay or Bi or what?! She's so good at acting I can't tell the difference!

hehe.. I guess any answer to that question would suit me as long as it's not that's she straight up straight!

I would love for Lauren to stay in the L word but I don't feel like they've given her character enough to work with. Even with Dana's death- I don't think they really gave the poor girl a chance.

I know what you mean. As hard as I was rooting for Lara and Dana up until Dana's death, I was hoping that her new relationship with Alice would keep her character going for at least another season.

By the by, I've done a little research, and I'm hate to be the bearer of bad news, but...

Here's a LLS interview from the Neil and Christy site (done around 2001), where Lauren talks about having dated men in the past.

I also found this excerpt of a Vancouver Sun interview from January of 2004, which was posted by one of the members of Lauren's official forum--back in the days when that forum was still running. The article states that both Lauren and Erin Daniels are heterosexual:
