negroclash and being jealous that such a community was around, I decided to make one that I would be able to identify more with. Thus, _latinoclash is born.
I want this to be a place for latino "scene" kids, but not just latino, not just scene kids. Think of this as a place for discussion, cos that is exactly what it is. We are here because we have more than one thing in common. Too bad we can't see each other as the same. I hear too many times, "Ah, Puerto Ricans, I have nothing to do with them I am Mexican," or "Ecuadorians, they aren't like me." When I was very young I thought that we Latinos, Cubanos, Puerto Ricans, Chicanos, south americans, central, north etc etc., were vulnerable because we chose to seperate ourselves. We made ourselves smaller, weaker, by seperation.
This is where it stops.
We are not weekend Latino Studies Activists.
We are the greatest growing "minority" in the US.
We are here.
