oh, hey wanna know what's great?
my best friend, the one i was talking about in a previous entry, yeah he got admitted to a psychiactric hospital today for cutting.

what i need to know is...

are any of you under 18 and on or ever been on paxil?
and if you are/were, do/did you have suicidal thoughts or tendancies?
did you talk to your doctor about it?
and if so, did he tell you "just wait it out"?

him being gone for the next 2 weeks+, makes me very...very...

suicidal.

to say the least.

i need someone to talk to.

aim: cuuntxxbby.

Even though you feel lost without your friend right now, know it's only temporary. I know it makes you feel lonely and worried. If you commit suicide, she's left without you permanently. Just food for thought. I hope that you can make it through this. We all need moral support. Is there a crisis phone line in your area?

no, there's not.

his brother is keeping me sane, giving me updates on him because he calls home once a day for 10 mins (that's all he's allowed to have). he's not even allowed to receive or write letters. or pictures. i know he's in there and it's for the better, so he can get help. i just wish i could see him one time to know that he is alive and isn't dead right now.

thanks though<3

Paxil has been shown to cause suicidal thoughts in both people under 18 and also young adults (18-25ish) I was on it when i was around 18 and nearly ended up in a cemetary. If the thoughts are more pronounced now, then before you started the paxil, i would recomend decreasing dosage and eventually stopping if you cannot get into see your doc in the mean time, that's what i did anyway. Can't say it's helped much with the cutting, but atleast im not constantly thinking about suicide anymore. There are many other options besides paxil, such as mood stabilizers and differant anti-depressants, maybe those would help you more, without the side affects of paxil. Anyway, i hope this helped atleast a little bit.

well he was never EVER thinking about suicide before he started paxil. he was on it for anxiety disorder, and he was on the lowest dosage (10mg). he told his doctor plenty of times that he was feeling suicidal and his doctor constantly told him to "wait it out, you'll be fine"
and then he tried to kill himself.

If it is for anxiety disorders, there are MUCH better options then paxil, and i'm suprised that the doc used it in the first place. I take Xanax XR and Xanax instant release tabs, both are for anxiety disorders. The XR slowly releases into the persons system throughout a 24 period, allowing your brain to produce more GABA which has a calming effect on the person. The instant release tabs are for panic situations, or pervention when you know your going into a situation that can or will trigger an anxiety or panic attack. Both work well, with minimul side affects, and suicidal thoughts/attempts have never been associated with xanax. The only things you have to watch for is dosage, if someone is on it for a long time (like me) then your body becomes dependant on it, kind of like narcotic pain killers. Comming off of it with a controlled program will minimize any withdrawls, and allow your brain to adjust to the differance in GABA production. This is a minor concern for people who really need this drug, since most are on it for many, many, many years. If you don't mind taking pills for a long time, i would definatly recomend talking to the Doc about it, it has litteraly saved my life.

I know alot about it because i've researched my 'diseases' and alot of others as well in a hope of exersicing some control over them. ( something i recomend to everyone). As for Klonopines, they have a longer half life then Xanax, meaning that instead of a 4 hour calming effect from 2 mg of Xanax, 1 mg of Klonopine will induce a slightly stronger calming and sedation effect for an average of about 8 hours. The major down side to Klonopine is that alot of people complain about excessive tiredness because of the strength of the drug. Smaller doses can be used, but for panic disorder, usually a higher dose would be used to begin with anyway. It all depends on how a person reacts to the drug, differant people react in differant ways, for example i get no sedation effect from Xanax at all, quite the opposite in fact i feel like doing things that i would never have thought that i would be able to do, like go into public places and such; While others i know are the opposite, and feel tired when they take it. Xanax should be the first Benzodiazipine the Doc starts someone with panic disorder out on because it has the minimal side effects, and it is a well studied and time tested drug. If the panic disorder is extreme, a more powerful one like Klonopines would be used, as well as in cases of violent thoughts or impulses. As it can also technically be classified as an anti-pyscotic as well as a Benzo. Any other questions please feel free to ask, and i hope i have helped some.

you have helped. the klonopins i'm on is just 0.5mg, and they help me sleep at night considering that's when most of my attacks occur. i lay in bed tossing and turning and panicking about i don't even KNOW what. so i take one before bed, and the only side effect that has really shown through me (aside from the drowsiness) is the clumsiness. but i'm clumsy to begin with so maybe it's not even a side effect.
thanks so much <3.

i like it. it evens me out through the day. and sadly a lot of my friends have lost respect for me because i take them.

i don't get it.
it's okay to fucking snort coke and smoke crack, but taking a pill to get better isn't okay?

i'm not saying my friends do that shit, but still, they do get high (whereas i don't). ehh, people make no sense.
