Current mood: ecstatic

Hola!
I've actually been into Evangelion for a long time. It has always been my favourite anime, even though I always skipped to watch the ep with Kaworu. XD;; (Like somebody else mentioned below.) You can't blame me for being impatient! Kaworu/Shinji is precious yo.

Anyway, I am finally gonna watch Evangelion 1.0 the movie tomorrow. Excited! Thus, I decided to join this community, because hey, I think it is finally time to find back a bit of my old craziness. I am actually rewatching my VCDs now to prepare myself for tomorrow.

The pairing of Kaworu/Shinji... To me, it is canon. I have never doubted it, especially with the way Shinji acts around Kaworu. My other not-so-secret love in the anime is Asuka. I kinda go blank when she appears. ^^;

So... A good day to you guys! \o/ And feel free to ask me anything to say hi!

PS. It would be awesome if you guys can shower me with fic/doujinshi recs, preferably of happier stories though for the former.

...Well, there's the meme, and ranfromrain has good stuff, and... (I just got out of bed. I'm lazy. I don't want to link. XD)

Have you read the manga, too?

(Because the title was "Hola", I was confused for a moment because I thought you were my friend from Spain. I was like, "Oh, she's - Wait. What?" and then realized it as from the comm. Ahahaha!)

Yep, I read her fics just now, they are rad. :D And she now knows I comment-spam. XD

The original manga, you mean? But it's kinda different from the anime yeah.

ROFLMAO. For one, I am not from Spain. I took a semester of Spanish though, and find the word "Hola" really useful. XD

Semester?! What happened? XD XD

I'm in my second year, and it's gotten to the point where I can read fanfiction, so I spend my time trying to translate those instead of actually studying the assigned vocabulary. XD

Yeah, the original manga. Considering most (all?) of my fics are set in the manga-verse, and the manga is more ShinjixKaworu in general, and....

Nothing happened. I just didn't have to take another since I got my points. I would love to continue, but I am graduating in May. XD

It's tough trying to read fanfics in foreign languages! I tried reading some in Japanese (I studied it for around 5 years), but I just feel sad because I couldn't fully appreciate the beauty of the vocab used.

Oh? Really? I thought the manga isn't really slashy, except for that one chapter or so.

How many semesters of language did you need to graduate? At my school, you need three years of the same language, but once you turn 16 you can take classes at the community college. (So, for example, if you wanted to learn Chinese or Japanese or Arabic or something.) But I'm moving right at the end of the school year, so I can't take community college classes because I wouldn't be able to finish. ;_;

...Well, the hyperventilation scene, and later on when Shinji says something like "Yeah, I was attracted to him, I just didn't want to admit it". :O

Oh, god. I know! The sad thing is, because I don't know all of the conjugations (There's like... fifteen. XD XD I'm exaggerating, but still.) and in Spanish, conjugations are important! And I'm constantly like, "Okay. Who's doing this?! When is this happening???"

Right now, I (kinda) know the imperative, imperfect, and preterite forms. Besides the normal ones, of course. But I don't know the future tense. Or a lot of grammar. It sucks! Online translators are barely any help, but luckily I have an awesome dictionary.

Oh, it's not counted like that in my university. My major is Communication Studies, and I have to fulfill 24 additional points of external modules, so I can basically take anything I want. Spanish is one module which gave me 3/4 points I think. As for my Japanese, I took that in secondary school for my O levels, so it's four years. :)

O_________O And I thought the manga artist is anti-slash?? Damn it, that means I have to go buy the manga now. I should have done it when I got my bookstore's member card. D:

Haha, don't remind me. Conjugations is the one word I hate in Spanish. I can never get it. That is why I like Mandarin (my mother tongue). They don't even have past tense. :p

You can read the manga online, too! That's what I do, because I'm not allowed to buy manga. :D

Oh, college! I'm definitely not that far along yet. XD

O levels... Well, now I obviously want to ask where you live! I live in Washington state, USA. It sounds stupid all typed out like that. XD

Conjugations were hard at first, because I really didn't understand what was going on, but after I got the concept it's just a lot of memorization. But we learn 60+ vocab words a week, so I really need to study even though I've just been translating fanfiction! I was at a different school for first semester than second, so the other kids know words that I don't know, too! x_X

Oh, the scanslations are online? I don't mind buying, since the Mandarin version is rather affordable, I just want to make sure they are nice. :3

Enjoy your young days! University is horrible. I live in Singapore, so yeah, British educational system.

That's the thing! I have a really bad memory! I have good memory when it comes to things like web addresses, but not for school stuff. Language-wise, I learn the fastest when I get to use it. So like in anime or something. If I don't understand, it's just memorization and bye bye, like Maths formulas. D:

Good luck to you! At least Spanish words are similar to English, so it's easy to see links.

Hahaha. True, sometimes. But you also have words like "remover" which means "to stir". XD

Yeah.. They... I linked to them on the other new person's post. I'm leaving like, right now so I can't go link it for you, but it's there.

Most of the high school language teachers are REALLY BAD here. I mean, my Spanish teacher has an American accent! And words that I learned in year one, they don't actually mean what the teacher says they mean! In year one they taught us the word for "locker", but actually it meant "cubbyhole" or something. And they don't teach us Spanish conjugations or words, so it's hard to talk my Spanish friend sometimes. D:

How much does manga cost over where you're at? Here, they're charging $11 or so a volume. And I'm like, "...I don't have money for that!" But it's hard for me to earn money, so I try not to spend any. I guess if my parents gave me money like a lot of other kids, I'd actually buy manga. Right now, I only do so when I get gift cards. XD

I know the Spanish word for "sink" is completely hilarious, as in, it feels so... posh. XD But I cannot remember it now.

No prob, I will go take a look. I need to go sleep now anyway. Thanks. :)

-__- That sucks. Maybe I should go there to teach Mandarin or Japanese lol. I thought tons of people in the US speak Spanish? Since there are many Hispanics there.

They start from S$5. The local version or the Taiwan/Hong Kong imports are cheaper than the Americanized version of course. The American version costs easily over S$10. (Exchange rate is US$1:approxS$1.6 fyi.)

...Fregadero? Something like that? XD XD

Not a lot of people do, actually. But schools have made it required to learn either French, Spanish, German, or sign language here. And people get better jobs if they know Spanish. (Oh, I'll reply more later, but I've got to go now)

YESH! That's the one. Doesn't it sound like some upmarket dish? XD

Sign language? O__O Now that's a weird addition to the group, not that it is not good of course. It's always good to learn foreign languages, regardless of whether it is for jobs or not.

Cheers!

Yeah. A lot of kids don't like learning the languages though, because the classes are so boring and the teachers are so bad. I only want to learn because I can talk with my Spanish friend and I can read Spanish fanfiction. Yay! XD

I don't know about other schools, but our school definitely offers ASL - American Sign Language. They tried to get Japanese but they couldn't find a teacher. Maybe next year, but I won't be there... D:

*rolls eyes* Compared to Maths and Sciences, languages are WAY more interesting. Because you are not just learning a subject, it's learning an entire new culture and way of interaction. Good for you, and boo to them!

Japanese is a really useful language if you are into anime and manga. XD Don't need to wait for subbed versions. And it's an easy language to pick up.

But we don't learn about the culture. We only really learn vocabulary. >.<

In science, I learn things like genetic mutations and embryos! And I think, 'Oh! Neon Genesis! Elfen Lied!'

Oh, really? I heard that it's hard. Well, you don't know until you try! :D

But as in, the language itself is the culture. Like in Japanese, there are many polite terms, and that's because of their polite culture. In Spanish, you learn about the different festivals etc. Feliz Navidad! XD

Genetic mutations! Now that's cool! I don't mind Science, but it always involves Maths, and that drives me nuts.

It isn't too hard once you memorize all the characters. And maybe it's because I'm Chinese, and Japanese share kanji characters with us, so even if I don't know how to pronounce it, I can guess the meaning.

Alright, I gotta go off to see Eva: 1.0 movie now. Eeeeeee~~~~ XD;;
