Oh my god! When is Su-Gyeong going to dump that jackass Phillip?! And what is wrong with that Min-Ae girl? Why would you pursue a guy when you know he's got a girlfriend/fiancee plus you've got a really nice guy who you were acting all moony about the night before! What the hell?! I'm really not liking these two characters. Okay, so I'm totally hooked on Soulmate (watching Episode 3 right now). It's not like I really like it or wanything, it's just that I can't stop watching it for some reason. Ugh, I hate when this happens! Anyways, they're kind of over-using Nouvelle Vague's cover of This Is Not A Love Song, aren't they? I just cannot wait to see SG dump that loser Phillip. I hope some form of violence will take place during the break-up (from her end, obviously).

I finally finished Gokusen 1. It was pretty good and I enjoyed (though I think I might've liked it better if I'd seen it a few years ago or something). I didn't get the point of that 1 hour and 45 minute special though. I mean, after watching 12 episodes of her taking care of 3D and teacing them those wonderful life lessons and stuff, why'd we need such a long special about their graduation? Anyways, I actually didn't watch it so even if it was awesome I don't actually know. So I guess I shouldn't really be talking. But I enjoyed it well enough and I'll be watching the second season (okay so maybe that's only cos Kame's in it but whatever!)

Oh I found this kdrama, Emperor of the Sea which sounds kinda awesome but it's like 51 episodes long. I really want to watch it cos it's got martial arts and stuff but 51 episodes scare me! But then again Sword Stained with Royal Blood has a ton of episodes as well but I'll definitely be watching that. I can't help it! I have a weakness for wuxia! But if I succeed in watching either of these I might actually have the courage to watch Jumong.

Um, and I think I'll also watch Mars. *ducks* I know, I know! I said I'd never watch another twdrama unless someone paid me a ton of money but it's Mars! I love the manga! It's actually a series in my Top 10! It's not my fault the Japanese or Korean didn't think of making it a live action but the Taiwanese did! I know, I'm evil and fickle and awful. FORGIVE MEEEEE, I'M WEAK!!! *hides*

"Do I think about the man on the street when I make music? No. I've met the man on the street. He's a cunt." - Sid Vicious.

Best thing I've seen on TV in aeons. Prepare yourself for Peter O'Toole displaying ten times more wit, charisma and natural talent in 60 seconds than most of today's so-called 'actors' will get close to in five lifetimes.

A true master of his art, this lad. Warms the heart something chronic!

Peace be upon you,

Apartment hunting.

I'm checking places at gumtree, looking where they are located at googlemaps and calling to schedule something to either see the place or whatever they want so I have a place and can move in on Tuesday. I have a hotel till Tuesday so I'll be covered for that time. One of the interesting places that sounds serious is offered by a girl called Diana who sounds really nice and who I have scheduled to meet on Monday. I talked to her in Spanish because the ad is in Spanish and the rent is okay and the location isn't as awesome as Kensington for 80GBP but it's not bad at all.

But the other rooms don't sound bad either.

Okay so I just watched the latest episodes of Iljimae. First off, from the previews it looks like our hero, Iljimae is going a little ECullz. Watching Maid Marian from afar, flying with her through trees, y'know, the usual ECullzy things. Geez, first Harry Potter and now ECullz.
Second, you know that new haircut I was all happy about? Well it looks a little like Iljimae's except longer and with more layers. I DID NOT INTEND FOR THIS! Le sigh...

Okay, Twimoms have reached a new level of creep. Why would you ask boys who are at least 20 - 30 years younger than you the "briefs, boxers or nothing" question!!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?! I mean, ew. Gawd, why do Twimoms even exist? Shouldn't they be setting an example for their kids by reading GOOD BOOKS! Ugh, this is why I'm a misanthrope.

My cousin is FINALLY applying to schools in Canada. I'm very excited cos she's like my oldest friend. So if she gets accepted she'll be here in winter. She could've been here now but since her parents suck she has to come in winter. I finally have someone to play the Goong drinking game (take a drink every time someone wears something ugly or does menaching eyes. Hee. We'll be puking our guts out and pass out by Episode 5 or so, won't we)!

I watched the first episode of Soulmate. They called it a sitcom but I am not really getting the difference between a ksitcom and a kdrama cos it seem a lot like a kdrama. Anyways, I had pretty high expectations because I read a review of it somewhere and the reviewer described it as the Korean Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or something. Clearly that reviewer hasn't seen ESotSM cos Soulmate is NOTHING like that movie (yes, I'd know because I've seen that movie a million times. Yes, it is just that good and if you haven't seen it already then you need to like RIGHT NOW!) But I love the music. The episode was named after the Public Image Ltd. song, This Is Not A Love Song and they used Nouvelle Vague's cover of it along with some other really awesome songs. I'm tempted to continue watching it just for the music. Okay, so I also kind of want to see how the wedding dream OTP get together.

Oh my god, I'm craving pineapple pizza so bad right now it's not even funny!

For the gracious Mr Barack Obama... [26 Jul 2008|10:45am]

[ music | Silver Sun,'Ill See You Around.' ]

"When I was a kid, I was all for going out there and wrestling with anteaters and so on..." - Sir David Attenborough.

I originally meant to include a video here but Prince, in his ever so sweet way has apparently ruled that all YouTube videos of his songs are minus the music. Got the message, brother! But when I think of Barack Obama I think of this classic slice of the Purple One's genius. It also strikes a chord with me. Kind of sums up my feelings about the world at the moment. Anyway enough sentimentality from me!! Here it is:

PRINCE,'Sign O' The Times':

Oh yeah
In France a skinny man
Died of a big disease with a little name
By chance his girlfriend came across a needle
And soon she did the same
At home there are seventeen-year-old boys
And their idea of fun
Is being in a gang called the disciples
High on crack, totin' a machine gun

Time, time

Hurricane Annie ripped the ceiling off a church
And killed everyone inside
You turn on the telly and every other story
Is tellin you somebody died
Sister killed her baby cuz she couldn't afford to feed it
And we're sending people to the Moon
In September my cousin tried reefer for the very first time
Now he's doing horse, it's June

Times, times

Is it silly, no?
When a rocket ship explodes
And everybody still wants to fly
Some say a man ain't happy
Unless a man truly dies
Oh why
Time, time

Baby make a speech, star wars fly
Neighbours just shine it on
But if a night falls and a bomb falls
Will anybody see the dawn
Time, times

Is it silly, no?
When a rocket blows
And everybody still wants to fly
Some say a man ain't happy, truly
Until a man truly dies
Oh why, oh why, sign of the times

Time, time

Sign of the times mess with your mind
Hurry before it's too late
Lets fall in love, get married, have a baby
Well call him Nate... if it's a boy

Time, time

Time, time...

Peace be upon you,

Sir_Red_Joe.

I have no place to stay in London right now which means I'm going to some youth hostel and then I can go apartment hunting on Monday when I'm looking for a job. I'm really pissed off at Mr C and have no intent of getting back to him because I just can't trust someone whp comes back two times asking for more money. That's just not okay.

Barack's in London. Good to see yer, boyo! [26 Jul 2008|03:13am]

"This American guy called me a Welsh coalmining prick so I punched him one..." - Tom Jones.

So here the boy is. Barack Obama has arrived in the UK for a low-key visit and a chinwag with my boys Gordon Brown and Tony Blair of the Labour Party. Oh and he'll also have a meeting with snobmaster number one himself David 'Etonite Fuckhead' Cameron from the condescending party of the misguided AKA the Conservative Party, if he's stopped weeping uncontrollably over the theft of his bicycle that is.

There'll be no 'handshake at the door of 10 Downing Street' photo opportunity as thats reserved for visiting heads of state (protocol, my darling, protocol), but Barack will be solo for a question-and-answer session outside the great house at some point in the day. I reckon Mr Obama should be meeting with Tony Benn too. Our Tone was the greatest Prime Minister we never had and is like an encylopedia of world events from his 50-odd years in Westminster as well as a Left-wing icon to many many Lefties like me. I believe he could learn a lot from Mr Benn as his position as an honest and revered voice of experience is probably only matched by the Queen herself. But you can't have everything!

Its a good job that it is a comparatively fleeting visit. That way there's less chance of us getting ahold of the boy and keeping him for ourselves!

So, welcome Barack my lad. It won't be as showbizzy as that Berlin extravaganza the other day but we love yer all the same, mate!

Peace be upon you,

Sir_Red_Joe.

Russell Brand seduces the USA!! Yay!! [25 Jul 2008|08:14pm]

[ music | Soul Asylum,'Just Like Anyone'. ]

"The Rolling Stones on tour is like having an Empire but with no land." - Keith Richards.

I see in the Daily Mirror today that my fellow Essex Boy Russell Brand is going to host the MTV Awards in September. Woo hoo!!

A few tips for the thin-skinned likes of Justin Timberlake etc: if the boy takes the piss out of you (which, since he comes from Essex, he 100% certainly will do), don't take it to heart. Its just commoner humour, the kind of joviality that underpins the British workplace and makes the UK a great place to live. I haven't actually watched the MTV Awards in their entirety since Oasis played the shindig and blew the place apart with their magnificent working-class oikery and stunning live performance of 'Champagne Supernova'. That would be 1995 or 1996 I think. But I would be sorely tempted to plonk myself in front of the idiot box for our Russell's manic and almost-certain-to-be-legendary hosting stint. And as the first Brit to be given the job, the whole world will get a colourful blast of the contemporary humour and out-and-out japery that we enjoy so much over this side of the pond. Expect sexual innuendo, double entendres galore and very very sore ribs from laughing so much at our lad's proven comic talent.

To make it perfect, they should get Frankie Boyle from Mock The Week in as co-host. The Scotsman's anarchic socialist personality would cause a full-acale riot!! But as you can't have everything, we'll go with our Russell's zany and borderline insane musings on the beyond ridiculous and complete insanity of 'celeb' culture. They don't like it up 'em and the boy Brand knows it! Go get 'em, m'laddo!!

Peace be upon you,

Sir_Red_Joe.

LOVE THIS LOVE THIS LOVE THIS LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Etonite poshboy wanker Conservative Party leader David Cameron, seconds after realising his bicycle has been lifted by a truly wonderful group of teenagers in North London this week. Well done lads, surely these boys must be in line for a Knighthood. Is there ANY other clear example of how Davey Boy is spectacularly out-of-touch with modern Britain than the fact that he chained his bike to a FOUR FOOT HIGH bollard? Ain't quite like on your Tory chums' vast estates in the Cotswolds is it, pal? THIS is REAL life. Welcome. Hope you have an uncomfortable stay. You gormless upper-class P's and Q's twat.

Ooooh I'm all in a tizz!! The good people of the UK have spoken here in a way that'll hit home harder than a pasting at the ballot box. I've had about four bikes nicked over the course of my 30 years including one that was chained to a fucking WALL. But thats Harlow, ha, ha!! Tell yer what, poshboy. Why don't you go 'hug a hoodie' as you so plankishly put it last year. Maybe they'll give your bike back. Or beat the fuck out of you for being the condescending silver-spoon-sucking pretentious shithead that you so clearly are. Fair play to these magnificent lads. Made everyone's week you have!

Peace be upon you,

This tired ol' society [25 Jul 2008|01:07am]

dasbrot
I'm bored. Not of life, just of this life. I can't really get into anything it puts on for display. Stuff liek getting together with friends still gets me up in the morning, but that's not really a feature of tis culture. I need to find something else, or create a society for myself where I can be happy. This one just ain't doing it for me. Perhaps insanity is a more fulfilling route, though it has it's downsides. I don't know what I'm aiming at, but a BANKSY quote caught my eye.
"I origianlly set out with the idea to save the world, but I'm not sure I like it that much." I appreciate that point, though I don't fully agree wit it, because it lumps everything together, and I don't think that all the peoples of the world deserve to cast adrift because Western Society is creating a bunch of empty and hopeless souls. I think that there is hope, maybe in one of the less prominent groups out there like the Tibetan Buddhists or even our own enviro movement. People are inherently good, but the as a group they're panicky and and paranoid and looking out for oneself. It my be a sign that each group has gotten to big, where each community isn't worrying about the community as it is worrying about themselves. What I'm saying I guess is that when there is a smaller group of people, they'll care for each other, but after a certain size it becomes unstable because each person can't have a relationship with every other person of the group. A disconnect occurs and small factions are set adrift, often as a family group, looking after there own and a few friends and then letting the vast majority be, while keeping a suspcious eye out. I guess my big wish for humanity is to be able to trust each other enough to focus on bigger issues of progress, and that humanity become deserving of an individual's trust.

I am bored.
I think I can't sleep because I'm excited/scared/nervous about selling my photos at the festival later today.
Also because you know when you want to know things but you can't really ask because then it would imply that you care about the subject etcetc. It's all complicated. I got Dave off the scent last night by telling him I'm in a weird situation. This situation has been around for over a year. Within this situation another one has occured recently, and it might change everything. Blimey. It's like the butterfly effect. My mood is unpredictable. It's all unpredictable.
Weymouth is so small. I wish it would grow so that things could be easier to face. Things like facebook and myspace don't help. Maybe I should hibernate properly and become a recluse and then all these thoughts a problems will go away.
I want to talk to people, and I know who. It's awful really. I want to be 16 again, then I'd have an excuse for being stupid.
I just have to be understanding. I wonder what's going to happen next. It'll be very interesting to see...*sigh* I must stop blabbing and make things happen.
Haha I'm talking to myself here yes, please if anyone is reading this rubbish move on in a brisk manner. We all have to do this sometimes.
Damn I need to wash my hair before I get there tomorrow. Arg.
Sleep Sophie sleep....
