Hey...I've been a lurker forever and a finally got an LJ account...and I finally joined. Don't have anything to offer (and I'm sad to see not many people do), but I have a question and hope someone will be able to point me in the right direction. Now, just about every fic I'v read here was amazing, but I finally got my hands on the DVD of the live show and I realised how much better wilson jermaine heredia and jesse l. martin are than just about anyone else...and that kinda made me wanna see of there are any fics of the out there. So, if anyone knows any great Jesse/Wilson fics, please let me know! You guys can deleter this is it's not allowed.

| Collins Doll |

I'm not sure if anyone's still checking this board, but I wanted to get an opinion on something. I crochet, and I've recently gotten really into amigurumi (Japanese style of knitting/crocheting small dolls - read more here). I decided to try to design my own Collins doll, and I've finally got a finished product. You can see a picture here.
Once I finish writing up the formal pattern, I'm planning on selling it over at etsy.com. I'm curious if anyone thinks they'd be interested, and if people are more interested in buying the pattern or a completed doll. If there's any interest, I'll post again when it's actually available on the site. It's been at very time-consuming process, but if there's a halfway-decent response I'll probably attempt some of the other characters.

| Goodbye RENT |

Today will be the last performance of the amazing musical RENT.
RENT is the 7th longest running Broadway show in history and after 12 years of being there, it's finally saying it's first goodbye.
RENT is the most influential musical I've ever heard and seen and it has the most amazing message of "No Day But Today."
All RENTheads will be sad to see this show leave it's beloved theatre the Neaderlander, BUT someday soon it will be back on Broadway to dazzle audiences.
I mean come on, South Pacific has been revived...
I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.
But for now, RENT, I must say, "Goodbye Love."

We're in the year 1996 and the colorful residents of the East Village in Manhattan are facing the issues which challenge poor Bohemian artists in the mid-90s. Drug abuse, HIV, prostitution, starvation, death, life, and love. However, they find that they aren't alone, friends are all around, and there is always coffee to be drunk, issues to be discussed, and art to be created, good and otherwise. Come join our cast of canon and original characters, featuring a strong sense of community and creativity and find that you're not alone either.We began as a post canon Rent fandom game, but in the past two years have become a real life game which is set in New York's East Village. At the time, it was a grim slum, full of drug dealers, prostitutes, and poor bohemian artists. But beautiful things often come of darkness and our world is peopled with just such creative folk. The question is, is your character strong enough to flourish, or will he or she become another bleak statistic? | | Who can join? | | Alphabet City is open to writers 18 and older. | | Characters wanted/needed | Any Original character, aged 15 and over who can possibly be found in an artist's slum in New York City is eligible and welcome, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc.

I'm sure everyone knows but RENT was extended to September 7th! :D
And plus the tour will still being going on until 2009, I believe, so hopefully everyone will be able to see it one last time before it's revived.
And we just have to remember that it's not about how many times you see RENT! It's about listening to the message then going out and living it. :D

TO have to inform you all that RENT will be closing on Broadway on June 1st 2008 after that evening preformance.
It had a good run but still let's hope younger generations will still be able to feel this musical through it's soundtracks.....film....community and high school productions or the inevitable revival (hopefully).
