A few news stories have surfaced again mentioning Rupert Grint and his involvement with the Eddie The Eagle Edwards biopic, but this new article from the Daily Mail has some slightly new information including a direct quote from Eddie and what he thinks about Rupert being cast to play him in the film!

Indeed, the Eddie The Eagle story could soon be brought to the big screen, starring Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films. ‘He can’t start filming until he is clear of his Harry Potter commitments, and with everything I won’t believe it until it actually happens, but I’m quite excited,’ says Eddie.

‘The script is about more than just laughing at me. It’s looking at what I did, and what it meant. It’s about life as well as the Olympics.

‘Is it all about winning? Of course not. Even today, I always say it was never about medals. I don’t even have my participation medal on display. My gold medal was the taking part, and that will never leave me.’

And it helps, presumably, that Rupert Grint is a genuine heartthrob, almost handsome, in a certain snow-bright light? ‘Oh yes,’ he laughs. ‘That is most excellent casting.’

The Press Association reported earlier that Rupert Grint is scheduled to attend this years 12th Annual British Independent Film Awards which is to be hosted by Rupert's Cherrybomb co-star James Nesbitt! We have received word that he is invited to this event and will keep you updated on whether he is able to attend. Rupert Grint's Wild Target co-star Emily Blunt is nominated in the best actress category so it should be an exciting night for everybody. November 27th, 2009, 12:13 PM--While promoting his new film, Nativity, Rupert Grint's Wild Target co-Star Martin Freeman briefly mentioned Wild Target in an interview with BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat. While no specific details were given, here's what he had to say...

Finally, can you tell us a bit more about the movie you filmed with Rupert Grint?

Yes, it's called Wild Target. We filmed that this time last year. I don't know about a release date on that.
Rupert Grint's in it, Emily Blunt, Bill Nighy, Rupert Everett, Eileen Atkins. It's very good and it's directed by Jonathan Lynn who was behind things like Yes Minister and Yes, Prime Minister.
I've not seen it yet but I had good fun doing it. I hope it's good.

Seeing Rupert and his co-stars mentioning Wild Target in interviews for other projects, and knowing that the film has numerous distribution deals in the works, makes us hopeful that a release date won't be too far away!

A Norway TV show has posted an interview with Rupert Grint on the set of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. In it Rupert discussions a range of topics including the Harry Potter series ending, not really being a fan of school, growing up on film, his friendship with co-star Daniel Radcliffe, hitting puberty, what other projects he has coming up, doing interviews, and hitting the red carpet. You can view the video here. You have to wait for a short advertisement and then it starts. It's just over three minutes long. If anyone can get us a downloadable version we'd really appreciate it!

Also an article came out saying Rupert attended the Variety Club awards, however we have yet to find any photos to collaborate this claim. We'll keep you posted!

Rupert Grint Attends Rally of Great Britain!




October 25, 2009, 3:38pm--As we told you a few days ago, Rupert Grint would be attending the Rally of Great Britain today as a spectator.
