    Let us WRock in Tennessee
If you don't know, I am planning a WRock event in Tennessee next Summer, and I'm trying to get a sum of how many people might come. So, please leave a comment rating on a one to ten scale, the chance that you would come. Also, if you want, leave some suggestions too. Thanks! =) *is happy*

Money and Ben Barnes oh my!
I got approved for social security! I'm gonna get $400 a week plus whatever I have to pay rent to mom. Woo!

Today's Ben Barnes' birthday hehe. Here, have a picture:

Today's stupidest quote: actual courtroom testimony
    Lawyer: What about the research?
Witness: I don't think there is any research on that. There's a logical hunch that may be true, but I know of no research study that would support that
Lawyer: What about just common sense?
Witness: Well, I'm not here using common sense. I'm here as an expert

I don't want to play anymore. All it does is make you care too much.
Plane crashes on takeoff, leaving 149 dead. My condolences to the families. :(

Daniel Radcliffe announces he has dyspraxia. Hmm. not familiar with this disorder, need to look it up.

    Dave Matthews Band founder/saxophonist dies.

Gah. I am soo depressed lately. Had a very bad week so far. More later.

Probably going to see Iron Man here shortly (finally).

Need to go shopping. That always helps. And go to the nature reserve.

There is a tiny bright spot though, did anyone see Shawn Johnson win gold last night? (not that I don't love Nastia, I just wanted Shawn to get a gold).

it's been like forever, I know, right?
ok, I know it's been a while, not a lot has happened, but here's an update--bullet-point style!

-taught summer school; it went well.
-house hunt resumed due to a hefty subsidy from the city of Long Beach, closing in now and hope to have something soon.
-survived the earthquake, in case you were curious.
-saw Eddie Izzard at the Kodak Theatre; awesomeness!
-my best fag-hag got married and the wedding was wicked fun!
-came home to visit the family for a few days; still here now.
-my sister seems to have aged about 15 years in only 3.
-going to the Indian casino in NC with my dad tomorrow.
-miss Brent like crazy; going home Monday.
-going through a bunch of childhood possessions; memories are fun.
-work starts back Sept. 2, kids come back Sept. 8, hard to believe this will be my third year.

that's about all I can think of for now, as I said, nothing much.

    shock.
LeRoi Moore is dead. The music that helped me through some of my darkest days will never be the same.

I was going to write a big retrospective blog about what the Dave Matthews Band has done for me, but I'm in too much shock, too sad, too tired to write it out. They were something that cannot be describe in any words I currently possess. I'm just heartbroken that one of the greatest saxaphonists of the 21st century has passed at such a young age. I found out today on my break, perusing LiveJournal on my phone. When I went back inside, I couldn't look anyone in the face lest the see the tears in my eyes. It's like a beloved friend is gone.

LeRoi, you will be missed. The world goes on a bit dimmer without your music to bring light into the dark places. Rest in peace.

File under "Things That Are Going Into the Shredder"...
Among the old books and CDs and video tapes that I found in the closet, I also discovered a lot of old writing that I did in high school. Wow, I was so emo. Phew...glad that's over.

    ---

They're showing the BMX Supercross now and it makes me want to play Mario Kart.

Max is currently lying on my bed, staring at me, and wondering when the time will come that I stop poking and prodding and putting various substances on his kitty furs. At least that's what I think.

The closet cleaning has come to an end!

Actually it came to an end an hour ago and not a moment too soon because I was so hungry that I ate my mac n' cheese too fast and almost made myself feel as sick as I did before I ate it for my tumbly was so empty. That run-on sentence also makes my belly ache.

So, let's see. I did find some old CDs and they're not as completely embarrassing as I thought they'd be. And they are:

    2 En Vogues
    2 Mariah Careys
    2 Janet Jacksons
    The Boomerang Soundtrack
Wrecx-N-Effect (ya know the guys who did that "Rumpshaker" song)
    SWV
    The Lemonheads
    Michael Jackson (Thriller!)
    LL Cool J
    Mary J. Blige

I also found a few cassettes (remember those?):
Soul Asylum - "Runaway Train" [single]
    4 Non Blondes - "What's Up?" [single]
New Kids on the Block's Merry Merry Christmas

I'm keeping that last one. It's out of print you know...and amusing.

I didn't find any spiders. I did; however, sneeze a whole hell of a lot. Dusty. Most of the stuff in there is going out with the trash, but I did find a few more things for the Salvation Army and a few things that might sell at our yard sale on the 30th. I also found one of my old Care Bears and my old Pound Puppy! Lotsa Heart bear! Definitely hanging on to them. I had a bunch of Care Bears, but I don't know where the rest of them ended up. The Pound Puppy used to have a name, but I can't remember it at the mo'.

    AZ Picspam for Tuesday

School starts tomorrow. Meh. Meh to the tenth power.

    Whole wheat spaghetti for dinner.

Hubby and son subjecting me to the Olympics, which I have TRIED to remain ignorant about.
I don't care much for the fact that they are in Vachina.

Current book- "Made in the U.S.A." by Billie Letts {contrary to it's title, it's not a shove-it-down-your-throat patriotic book}. Letts is the same author who wrote "Where the Heart Is". I am enjoying it so much, I'm going to try to find more of her works from the library.

Got my free Mocha Iced Coffee from McCrapDonald's today- not too bad, if I do say so!
    I'll definitely be buying more.

    And that just about covers it- the good, the bad, and the boring {mostly boring}

Okay... my back is being a total biatch right now, so I'm on the desktop instead of my laptop to check my groups and do some writing because it's got an egromatic chair instead of me just propping the laptop up on a few pillows on my bed.  So no graphics tonight from me. I think I'll just check LJ, check a few other groups and get to writing. Besides my own stuff, I'm working on a couple of prompt communites. *happyhapppyjoyjoy*

I just read "Rosemary's Baby", so I rented the movie and watched it tonight. It was really good. No blood and guts, mild swearing, only that one sex scene with the Devil...very good example of classic horror. Except they didn't show the baby! I wanted to SEE the baby! Hmph. Oh well....I loved Mia Farrow's haircut from the beginning of the movie. Wonder if I could pull it off....

    It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's the Wrath of God
With reference to the this comic panel, setting aside what's happening in the foreground, if I looked up in the sky and saw that figure swooping toward me with that expression on his face, I can think of nothing on Earth that I wouldn't immediately stop doing and instead put my hands straight up in terror.

I'd figure if I had Earth's Greatest Hero coming at me what that kind of mad on, I must have really screwed up.
