I just wanted to see how long I could stay awake. I think I could stay awake for longer, but...I'm listening to the Hanazakari no Kimitachi E soundtrack (which I just got from Tezuka-buchou). The music is so calm and soothing and relaxing...
It makes me miss the show. Even if a few aspects of the story were changed around, I still enjoyed it a lot... It didn't make me hate any of the characters...unlike what happened with Zettai Kareshi. I have all the eps, but I haven't watched beyond half of the 8th episode because I'm afraid of how things will happen. XD I know what happens...but I just don't want to see Riiko be stupid anymore. *sigh*
I love the sound of pianos and violins. ^^ I wish I could play either of them. D:
Anyway, yes. Bedtime. I shall take this music with me~

tea (Darjeeling tea), Japanese Sumo Ink (I swear this bottle is like 10 years old, finally almost empty!), and gold gouache. Let this sit for a while because I couldn't figure out how to lighten her up. Darjeeling tea stains dark very quickly, not light like some of the other's I've used, but I'm not fond of the flavor so it's been reduced to stain tea. I'll just have to keep remembering to hold off on the third 'coating'.

16x20'ish. ...not for sale until Gencon.

Replacing a phone

I noticed that the phone was getting flaky two weeks ago. Keys on its keypad didn't always register although in all other respects, it still worked fine. I was still 4 months away from being able to get a $150 discount on a new phone from Sprint, so I checked on eBay for a replacement. Interestingly, there is now a burgeoning market for Razr V3m phones on eBay -- 50 to 100 secondhand units on sale at any time. Trouble was I kept getting outbid. After losing half a dozen auctions, I changed my strategy. Instead of looking at auctions that are closing soon, I looked at the other end of the list, i.e. auctions with the most time remaining. I saw one with a low "Buy it now" price and snagged it.
I got the package yesterday afternoon. Yes, the replacement phone looks exactly the same as the one I already had. Even came with a similar number of scratches. :) First thing I did was to try to copy the contact list from the old phone to the new one. (It's not really newer because it's second-hand but it's new to me.) I already had Motorola Phone Tools on my notebook computer configured for the old phone, so I thought it would be a snap. For some reason, the software made me go through the onerous device driver installation and phone setup steps again even though the new phone is the exact same model. It didn't automatically recognize this new phone either. And finally, the software said that the contact list restore failed even though it worked.
The next step was surprisingly easy. I followed instructions at the Sprint website to activate and program the new phone. Sprint took a while to provision web services, so I left it alone until this morning before updating the phone software and installing Opera Mini. I used Opera Link to get my bookmarks back, and it was easy and almost instantaneous. I'm glad Opera Software provided that feature.
Here's something that is still a problem: The 2.x version of Google Maps Mobile doesn't work on this phone. Google has also apparently removed all the 1.x versions of GMM. Came across this discussion thread but it didn't help because those links to older jar files don't work any more. So, until the next phone upgrade, I'll try Mobile GMaps.

Not that's I'm complaining of course, though it would be good to have some parties in Summer too. :D

* In our case, we had been planning to hold a party since before Netwomble moved into that flat some months back**. Due to general life-chaos, the organising of it was postponed for a while. We just have more time to organise stuff now... maybe that's true for the other parties too. To be fair, we acknowledged that we were mad when picking a theme. ;)
** Some of us had been hoping to hold a party there since we first saw the place. The space is ideal.

Making both might be difficult, as I really wanted to spend the night drinking with Bex, but as her party starts earlier, I'll be going to that first. Hmm... Oh well, maybe we can do that some other time. The chances are I will be able to relate to the people at the second party a little bit better than the first, as Becky's friends are all mad. Yep. All of us. Should be fun though.
Does anyone know where we can find Brazier's for Burning Bedlam? Or alternatively - the inside's of washing machine's work quite well, anyone know where we could find some of those?

We saw "The Dark Knight" at the midnight movie last night.
( Fewer people in our group... )
I'll avoid any spoilers and simply say we enjoyed the film -- and that I continue to just love Christian Bale as both The Batman and Bruce Wayne. (They finally got it right when they cast him.) Aaron Eckhart is really the perfect Harvey Dent and Michael Caine continues to amaze as Alfred. Both Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman ROCK, yet again. And, yes, Heath Ledger is good and will probably win the Academy Award for this role. But I have to tell you, I thought this was Harvey Dent's movie, more than it was the Joker's... (Just my observation.)
In light of that, I decided to add a new banner in support of Harvey on my Profile page. You can see it by clicking HERE.

The Dark Knight midnight showing = awesome. I didn't think there'd be that many people there. XD There were two theaters showing it, and they were both pretty much packed. So Tezuka, Jirou and I had to sit close to the front. We were in the third row, when we figured since we were that close, we might as well get closer. So we sat in the second row.
Which made me a little dizzy. Whenever the action gets too ... spinny (like the hero and villain are rolling across the floor or twirling down the side of a building), I feel dizzy. Or if there's a shot from an intense height (like one of the opening shots where you're looking down from one building to another), I felt that churn in my stomach and had that sense of losing my balance.
But yes. Heath Ledger as the Joker? Freaking awesome. The Joker and Batman will always be my favorite villain and protagonist match-up.
The only thing I didn't really like about the movie was when Christian Bale made his voice hoarse while he was suited up as Batman. @_@ It sounded...like crack. And like he had a stuffy nose or something, although that could've been because the cowl part of his costume was covering his nose? I dunno.
And now...we shall see how long I can stay awake. XD I'm going to try and stay awake until at least 7:00 p.m. tonight. Why? Because my dad finishes work at 6:00 p.m., and I don't think we'll get home until at least after 7:00.
Ganbare yo, atashi!
