Okay, kid(s?), it's time for Conception's first official RP! **cue video game level-up music**
There are no requirements to join in the fun. No applications, no formalities, no nothin'. You don't even have to have posted a character in Conception before. All we ask is that you adhere to Conception's main tenets of 1.) spelling and grammar, 2.) No Sueism, 3.) Have fun, and don't take it too seriously!
The premise is that you are auditioning to be in a generic Reality-TV show. Your character can be anything from a huge fan of said TV show to a totally clueless guy who got lost trying to find a Radioshack. I'm not gonna bother writing a history of the fake show, so just make up whatever the hell you want and we'll go with it.
Basically, we're going to stick a bunch of characters together in one small apartment and poke them with sticks. :D Well, maybe not the sticks part, but you get me.
All RP will be done through comments.

| April Challenge -- Just in time. |

Because  grogg_no_like has been pestering me about it, I finally finished my submission for this month's challenge -- and just in time!
Rating: Uh. PG-13 for disturbing subject matter.
Characters: Villian-Sue of shionshion
Notes: Now, I don't exactly prefer such culinary oddities, so just take my word that here I've portrayed in a rather abstract sense my worst characteristics. P.S. ... the thing around its neck is a human heart, the valves are bound tightly together at the top by the cord, so that's my excuse as to why it doesn't look like a heart in the least.

Oh dear-darlings of the interweb;
Your community mods do exist -- we're not dead, and rest assured, we still love you! Laiat has recently moved and is being kept away by lack of internet and probably his harem roomies.
I, on the otherhand, am suffering from a nasty bout of responsibility allergies. Even just writing this post, I risk going into anaphalactic shock. I am risking my life for you guys, because I love you sooo much! Now feel guilty for not submitting me any layouts! Tsk tsk.
I have a new one currently under development, and hope to get it up soon.
In the meantime, I'm really interested to see what you guys come up with for the April challenge!
(Oh, and for those of you who enjoyed "Love is Blind," my long awaited 18th bday has finally come and gone, and with it my last excuses for my anti-smut policy. Ha. Betcha'll are excited?) |

Alright, because I'm moving the first and won't be here to post this at that time, here's your April thingie.
We're going the opposite of Mary Sue self insert. I want you to turn YOURSELF into a villain. Yes, yes, you can alter yourself in anyways, as long as you know you're making a mirror in your character in some major way.
A villain is not an anti-hero. I don't want redeeming qualities. I want you, at your darkest. Write a short profile, some fiction, draw your evil alter-ego, whatever. Just give me something! You guys hardly ever do the monthly challenges. |

| Conception's first contest! |

As you may have noticed, livejournal decided to eat Conception's previous Tarou-ified layout. (insert sadface)
As much as we all love Plastic Tree here (**looks around, crickets chirp. Carries on.**) it was only meant to be temporary until one of us got the motivation to make something using original artwork.
So this is why I am now calling upon you, oh dearest community members, to help us find a new layout for Conception.
There are three ways you can win this contest:
1. Submit an entire layout. This means graphics (header and icon) and coding.
2. Submit a header image and icon.
3. Submit an image intended for use as a header image, but not yet edited to fit as one.
The amount of work you do determines your prize.
If you submit an entire layout, you will receive a gift from both laiat and myself. This means two pieces of art, two pieces of fiction, or one artwork and one story. The subject matter is completely up to you. If you chose art, you will receive a finished piece (ink + coloring), and if you chose fiction, you will receive a story of 500 or more words.
If you submit the graphics set, you will receive a finished artwork or story from the mod of your choice.
If you submit an image intended for a header, you will receive a sketch or story of 300 words or more from the mod of your choice.
There is no theme for the layout, and you may submit as many times as you like, even with variations on the same image/layout/whatever.
Once time is up all entries will be posted for the community to vote on. The entry with the most votes will win, and second place will receive a sketch or fiction of 300 words or more from either mod.
Now, for the fame, fortune, and glory of your community, go forth and submit your entries!
This contest will self-destruct on March 31st. |
