| Hi! |

I've decided to drop budapest and vienna so I can spend more time in each city. I was told that I was spreading myself too thin and I certainly don't want to miss anything.
I have a few questions. Is my budget realistic? What was the thing you spent more money on than expected? what was the thing that threw off your budget? Can you recommend cheap airlines (or budget sites) for the last three cities on my list? Has anyone been to disneyland in paris? what did you think and what did you end up paying? How much did transportation from the airport to your hostel or general in town transpo cost? Can someone send me an invite to couchsurfing.net? :) Can anyone recommend a site that has step by step budget planning for a trip to europe?
Also, since I am taking vienna and budapest off my list I am going to be taking the train from amsterdam to berlin and then berlin to prague. Because I will be going to two cities instead of four, is a pass really needed? The tickets themselves (second class youth, reclining seats for night trains) were cheaper than the passes.

| Controversial Destinations... |
[19 May 2008|06:14pm] |
I'm always looking at travel articles to plan my next trip (and to figure out where I wouldn't really enjoy going).
So I came across a list that MSNBC put together of the most controversial destinations. The article includes reasons why you should go to these places and why you shouldn't (both for safety reasons and moral reasons). Story here!
On the list is: China Syria Zimbabwe North Korea Tunisia Cuba Myanmar (Burma) Russia Israel Ethiopia Sudan Iran Venezuela
Do you think their list is a good one? Are there places where you would not go (currently)? Are there places you think get a bad reputation, but aren't as bad as it seems?
