Table Turnips.
I checked the memories under turnips, and anywhere else my question might be answered, but found nothing... So, I'm going to assume that it's okay to post another entry about turnips.

I've heard that if you put your white turnips on a table in your house, they won't spoil. My problem is: every time I attempt to put some on a table, they just bounce unto the floor. Any idea what I'm doing wrong here?

One more thing: Are there any negative effects, which you can't reverse, once you've time traveled? I already know about the neighbors possibly moving and weeds over taking your neighborhood. I'm mainly just wondering if you can you go back to the present date, so I'm not permanently stuck in the future, and what changes might stick around. Does that make sense? >.<

I'm not sure if that last paragraph is going to be okay or not, there's a recent entry about time traveling backwards into time, but not forwards. I've never time traveled before, so I'm a tad confused. Which is why I'm being a lil wary about doing it on my game. I apologize if this last part of the post breaks the rules (and will stop editing my entry now).

Usually I place a shovel onto the floor by the table, and the shovel turns into a sort of tool box looking thing. Then I stand close to it and select a turnip from my menu. It bounces off of the shovel/tool box and onto the table. :)

Another way to save them is to bury them in your town
Though this only keeps them fresh for a week

I dont think theres anything too bad from TT other than the things you mentioned
If you have the USA version of the game then the mass amount of weeds makes these weird red plants appear in your town
But I think they eventually go once your town is clean

I put notepaper around the table so the turnips can't be placed on the floor and end up on the table instead. =)

When I time traveled nothing bad happened, except I got a really cool rafflesia flower in my town for about a week. (It pops up when you get a crud ton of weeds, I think.)

Putting anything that you can walk over(wallpaper, carpet, stationary, etc) on the floor next to the table prevents you putting anything else on the floor there, so it goes on the table. As for time traveling, the weeds get terrible and I hear that neighbors might move a bit more irregularly as well as the outside animals (Sahara, Katrina, Blanca, etc) schedule gets a bit messed up. One way to get around it is to change the date on your DS rather than the AC card, but if you travel a lot it'll still get weird.

Put stuff on the floor around the table so the turnip can't go there.

I'm pretty sure the effects of time-travelling, be it back or forth, are always the same: weeds popping up and neighbours moving out. And flowers wilting.
