Mod Post: Ratings
Actually, before I get down to the nitty gritty, first I'm going to just poke you all to go vote for your favorite story in the Christmas Fluff Contest, which can be found here. Come on peopleee VOTE. We need more before we can reach a decision.
And now, down to business.
I don't know how many of you have read the rules but they're there for a reason, to be followed.
The reason for THIS particular obnoxious moderator post is that we've noticed lately that a lot of people just aren't bothering to friends lock material that is rated R or NC-17. This isn't just a rule that we as moderators are imposing, it's a rule that LiveJournal itself imposes. We're already bending a lot of LJ rules by allowing minors (i.e anyone under 18) to be a member of a community that contains explicit material.
So, what we're asking you to do is friendslock any post that contains something above an R rating, and for you to have the rating of any story clearly displayed.
We won't be making exceptions anymore. If it's not friendslocked, and it's got R or NC-17 material in it, and we find it, it's going to be deleted without warning. We are not kidding.
I know a lot of people are confused as to how to rate things. So. Here's a little guide. Basically, think movies.
( How To Rate Your Fic )
I know rating your own stories is hard, but do give it a go. And you know we're not completely heartless, and we won't bite your head off, but we really are serious about this. As we are about the other rules. If there are any problems, don't hesitate to ask. Thank you.
