| Mod Post : Changes (Post ? of many...) |
[18 Oct 2006|12:25am] |
Hello, darlings.
I'm here to explain a few subtle changes in the community, ones that you may or may not have noticed. Not yelling, though, educating. This is basically a summary to explain a few of the small changes that you probably should know about.
First, I'll start off with the newest. The links list has changed. Allow me to fill you in quickly on the differences. ( Our new link list reads as such: )
Other changes have been that I got rid of the Navigation bar up the top of the page. Sorry if you liked it, but it blocked off the pretty picture.
That's the other thing. The others and I were discussing a new layout contest. There'll be another post about that when everything's finalised, but we figured we'd give this place a fresh start and a fresh new look. So watch this space.
Incase you didn't look under the cut, again I want to stress that we have a new archive: vam_is_love. If you don't know what you're looking for: vam_ficsearch. If you want the day's updates: vam_dailynews. All these are run by beo_vam, so show her love.
Beta List. Keep in mind we have one of these now. Please check it out, sign up, find a beta. We REALLY want to get this to be a prosperous list.
Keep your eye out for a slew of posts explaining other changes as they happen. There's going to be quite a few.
If you have any ideas or comments reguarding the HTML-orientated changes, please leave a comment here, under the contact the mod post, or simply by emailing one of the mods.
That's all from me. For now, at least. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Remember that post where I started collecting people for the Beta List?
Well, here's that list.... as well as a recapitulation of the purpose of a beta reader, and some guidelines.
A Beta will go through your writing and may check for any or all of the following things - spelling, grammar, characterization, plot points, development of the storyline, factual accuracy, coherence, and authenticity. They may not check for all of these things - you mustn't expect them to advise you on things they are not comfortable with themselves.
A Beta's job is to give you feedback and advice. You do not have to accept that advice - but it is advisable that you consider it. Often, it is invaluable to have a second opinion on a piece of work - a second pair of eyes may pick out things that were in your blind spot. Please keep in mind that they are giving you this advice for a reason, the reason being that they want to help you get your work as good as it can be. They may pick one of your most treasured works to pieces - this does not mean that they hate you. Be flattered that they are taking the time out of their busy schedule to help you, take their opinion into account in your consideration of your work, and move on. A good piece of writing is not written in one draft - ever hear that saying Rome wasn't built in a day? It applies here too. Rework, re-evaluate, discuss, rediscuss, rewrite... and then post. Have some integrity, put some effort into your work.
Betas should make their comments as constructive as possible, and should try and work with the authors if possible. Often, being in contact with them whilst going through their work is beneficial for both parties.
Please choose a beta - or betas - from the list below. Look at their preferred story type and their availability and find which one is best suited for your needs. Request their services either by contacting them on their personal journals, or by email.
We must ask that you send any piece of writing with adult rated material (rated R or above) to a beta over the age of 15.
A Beta is not obliged to take on a story, should you ask them to. If they decline, please just go and select another one.
If, at any time, a Beta is unable or unwilling to continue working on a piece of writing, they have the right to withdraw their services. Please be considerate of the betas needs too - work with them, don't give them a hard time if it takes them a little longer than usual to get back to you.
So, without further ado, and in no particular order, here is The List - which will be constantly updated.

Hello Hello Hello! Does anyone remember the idea I had about interviewing some of our authors to get to know them better? Well, I've gotten one now. =) Do tell me what you think and if I should continue with the interviews. =)
My many thanks to rayne_falles, who agreed to sit down with me via AIM and allow me to ask her a few questions. =) Thanks so much! It was fun. =D
In the interview, you will get to know rayne_falles as an author, and as a person. =) I've asked questions about her writing, her favorite writing, and her favorite genre of story as well as things as name/nickname, favorite music, etc. Hopefully you'll enjoy it. =)

| Frozen To Lose It All- Chapter 41 |
[18 Oct 2006|05:01pm] |
Title: Frozen To Lose It All Pairing: Vam, Ville/Jonne Rating: PG-13 to NC-17 Summary: Ville has been with Jonne for two years now and they want to start their life together. But, when Bam gets in the picture will it stay the same or will everything fall apart? *Note* This will end up being a MPreg in later chapters. Also, Jonne is a few years older in this since I didn't want Ville to be considered a molester. Disclaimer: If I owned Ville, Bam, or Jonne do you really think I'd be writing??
