List your entire Red Hot Chili Peppers collection in order of favorite to least favorite. Explain why your superlatives are what they are. If they happen to be compilations (What Hits!?, Out in L.A., etc.), move up or down the list till you get to an actual studio recording and explain for that. Here's mine.
1. The Uplift Mofo Party Plan: This is the first album that truly captures the energy of their live shows and punk rock attitudes of the time. Hillel lays down some great, distorted riffs in Fight Like a Brave, No Chump Love Sucker, and Backwoods. Flea's bass lines are partnered quite well with Hillel's guitar, but are not once hindered by them. He even gets a little show-off time at the intro to Walkin' On Down the Road and a little solo in Fight Like a Brave. Jack provides the metronome to the album, but never once are his beats completely identical. He gets his shining moment at the beginning of Skinny Sweaty Man with some insane speed drumming. With topics going from the birth of rock and roll to the "whiteys don't belong in funk" criticism, Anthony continues his niche as a song writer and proves that a good album doesn;t have to be single-minded. And it all culminates in the ultimate party, thrash, punk, funk rock tune, The Organic Anti-Beat Box Band.
2. Blood Sugar Sex Magik
3. Mother's Milk
4. One Hot Minute
5. Freaky Styley
6. Californication
7. What Hits!?
8. Red Hot Chili Peppers
9. Live in Hyde Park
10. Greatest Hits
11. Out in L.A.
12. By the Way: I'm not saying that this is a bad album. I'm just saying that I don't like it too much. Melody is good on an album, it's just that a whole album based on it by a band that normally just has two or three slow songs per album is a weird direction. it seems that, in getting a traditional singer, they've lost their funk. Hopefully this change isn't permanent.

1.Californication.
The best fucking album of all time. If for no other reason, because it has Purple Stain on it. You may think I'm one of those people who like this album, who bought the greatest hits cd before any other cds and now likes JUST those songs, and hates all the old stuff. But no. I just sincerely love this album. It's almost like, the rebirth of John into the band completed it for me.
2.Blood Sugar Sex Magik.
Breakthrough! Tis just... godlike.
3.Live in Hyde Park.
The Chili Peppers Live... HOT DAMN. Have all the dvds too...
4.Uplift Mofo Party Plan.
True funk. Yes. Funkfunkfunkgoodgoodgood.
5.By the Way.
Used to think this one was my favorite... well, they're all my favorites.
6.Freaky Styley.
I just. love it. number 6, yes. but still. in love with it.
7.One Hot Minute.
One Hot Minute, indeed. This album has its drawbacks... mostly just Navarro. Fucking replacement guitarist. Not a chili pepper.
8.Red Hot Chili Peppers.
I still love it, yes... but. Something had to be at the bottom, right?
SILENCIO IS GOING TO FUCKING ROCK!
HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD LEVERAGE OF SPACE?!?! HOLY FUCK IT MAKES ME DANCE.
