old fic: Like how you are [My So-Called Life] 1/2 [July 19th, 2008] wearemany J was watching MSCL when we got home last night, and Katimski was bugging Ricky to sign up for drama club, because, gee whiz, he can't just ignore that a kid's got talent. and they're fighting over how Katimski always calls him "Enrique," and finally Ricky admits, "I don't hate it," and Katimski says, good, and he bites his lip a little and stutters out, "No one should ever hate who they are." and -- uh, perhaps predictably? -- i completely cried all over again. that show, seriously. if i were a more organized person i'd take all my favorite old fic and move it all to LJ to be in one place. but i'm not, so it just happens in little fits. this may quite possibly be, even five years later and with plenty of other of options, my favorite piece of fanfic i've ever written. i still forget about it sometimes, though. it was before i ever participated in yuletide, and the first long story i wrote outside any organized fandom (other than, like, the world of fangirls who loved this show when it was on). i wanted to write something about the first time you come home after you've gone away, after you've struck out on your own, when everything has already started changing but before you know how to be yourself no matter where you are or who you're with. and this is still everything i have to say about these kids and what happened next. ... so... I MET THE JONAS BROTHERS. [July 19th, 2008] simplealee Okay, so i'd better do this before i completely forget or before i start my family reunion tomorrow. Today was insanely amazing. i cannot even begin to describe how i feel right now, it's because i'm seriously feeling 10 different emotions at the same time. I MET THE JONAS BROTHERS TODAY. & my life is beginning to sparkle again. so the day started off with sara, rhonda, ashley and i driving up to LA for the filming of F'N MTV. you know, that one show that's hosted by pete wentz from fall out boy on mtv? yeah, that one. the scheduled performance was the jonas brothers and there was going to be premiere videos from slipknot, shwayze & cisco adler, nelly and this one random blonde singer that no one cared about. sara and I got seated in the audience right by the stage, literally 10 feet away from the jonas brothers while rhonda and ashley were in the pit, just the same distance away from the stage. every seat was basically an amazing seat in that studio. they started the show off with the jonas brothers playing Burnin' Up, and it was amazing. again, like i said, if you've never seen the jonas brothers perform once in your life, even if you're a fan or not, do it, cause it's seriously worth it, their stage presence is brilliant. anyways, after about 5 mins of sara and i pinching and smacking each other from excitement the boys left the stage and nelly came on. WHEN DID NELLY GET HOT? seriously? nelly smiled at sara, it was sweet and i almost got to touch his hand but pete wentz cock blocked me. the Joni came back out and according to sara nick stared directly at sara and i and the nudged to joe, and joe did a little head turn thing and got a look at us. then slipknot came on, it was seriously the funniest and scariest thing i've seen ever, they were teasing audience members and made a guy cry. anyways, the jonas brothers performed S.O.S. i was leaning against a railing cause i was right by the stairs, i seriously did not take my eyes off of kevin the entire time and he noticed, and every time we made eye contact he would do a spin, it was funny. then they left. :( sad times sad times sad times, sara and i got left behind because they let the people in the pit take the busses before we did and so we got stuck waiting around for the next bus, but then the verison people were there and they asked a few people to comment on their favorite videos from the show, sara and i happened to be some of them and we made some ridiculous videos, i was jumping around, throwing my arms everywhere and sara just gushed about how hot nelly was in a vneck. lmao. so we got into the car with rhonda and ashley and sara and i were famished cause we hadn't eaten all day. so rhonda goes, LET'S GO TO MEL'S DINER ON SUNSET! and of course i'm always game cause i love that place sfm. and we walk in, sit down. LET ME JUST START BY SAYING NONE OF THIS WAS PLANNED AT ALL, IT WAS JUST RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME. WE WERE DEFIANTLY LUCKY AS FUCK. anyways, i asked sara if she needed to go pee, and she was like yes, so we walk back to the ladies bathroom and i notice someone standing right by the door of the bathroom and it was KEVIN FUCKING JONAS. and i was thinking to myself, you've got to be shitting me right now. so sara went into the bathroom to scream cause she noticed them sitting at a long table at the end of the room and i was just staring at kevin, who was on the phone and when he finished he walked passed me and was like, "hi, how are you?" and was all smiles and i go, "hi..." and that's it. then big rob shows up and asks us to please not take pictures of the boys eating and that he'll get us to take pictures with them when they're done, and he called me baby and i luled. and i was like sure, we're eating anyways... and he's like thanks baby... so then sara and i went pee and then went back to the table, by then rhonda and ashley had already figured out that they were there. after a little while of waiting, the boys finished eating and then rob walked the boys to our table and he was like, "these ladies are coming with us", and they gave us room to get up and i just happened to get up right next to KEVIN and so i introduced myself, he did the same and i was like, we were at the taping today, and he was like, wait did you watch it or were you actually there? and i was like, dude, actually there. lmao. we were chit chatting as sara, rhonda, ashley and i were WALKING OUT OF MEL'S WITH THE JONAS BROTHERS & BIG ROB PROTECTING US LOOKING LEGIT. it was badass. joe kept checking sara out cause he was walking behind her. it was funny. there were a few other girls who were there, about four, i noticed that rob was angry cause he said just us, but he blocked them off and let us get our pictures and have our talks with the boys, i got my picture taken and i turned to kevin and i was like, hug? and he was like OF COURSE! and he hugged me and in the middle of the hug he was like "YOU SMELL AMAZING..." and i was like, psh bitch i know. it's only because i get that a lot. lol jk. i said thank you. and then i said byes and thank yous and let my girls have their fun. SARA RAPED NICK. well, hug raped, she scratched his tummy and got a REALLY GOOD hug from him. i'm going to visit her in jail tomorrow. LMAO. and then ashley got stuck to the floor and joe apparently looked at her like she was insane, but her shoe really got stuck to the floor and she couldn't move. rhonda told joe that they had the same birthday! and he was like, that's awesome! happy early birthday. i forgot to ask kevin about Trace and Lower D. lol. then they had to go. they went to demi's show at the roxy. i have no words to explain how i feel right now. i'm replaying the entire thing in my head and it still doesn't seem like it was real. i'm exausted and i need to go to bed, i got about 5 hours of sleep last night and i need to catch up on my z's.
