Hi, found this livejournal community via Magnet's official site. :)

I adore the folk-pop fusion that's so unique in his music, and of course - his uber sexy voice. Grin.

I'm from Singapore (a million miles from Norway), and I must say he's not well known here. I can't seem to find any of his albums so far, and yes, not even in the larger music stores. Sigh. :(

Disastrous, huh.

Anyways, cheers to all. :)

We've just finished the new video for "Fall At Your Feet" which will be the first proper single from "The Tourniquet". It was shot on the Devil's Island, outside Bergen, Norway at Even's house. It should be on your screens before the end of this month.

The single is b/w exclusive new track "This Bird Can Never Fly" which was recorded in the same sessions as the album.
Lots more news to come soon, but it's all set for a mid-November release.

Thanks for all your support. If you don't yet own "The Tourniquet" yet, we obviously recommend you should - and you don't even need to go to the shops. It's at amazon.co.uk for £8.99.

Hi! Wow, a Magnet-community =D I love Magnet! He is more well-known around here though (I'm a Norwegian), but it's nice to see that he has got fans from other countries as well.

Here are some pictures I thought you might want to see:
Magnet 1
Magnet 2

They are both from a concert he did in Oslo a week ago together with Bigbang and two other bands.

And this one is from a similar concert in Trondheim.

Magnet's new album = done! [12 Apr 2005|11:32am]

For some reason I'd rather update this livejournal that hardly anyone reads (we should do something about that) than the real website...

NEW MAGNET ALBUM IS DONE! YAAY!

I don't know what it's called.

He's touring a bit in Norway. Which probably doesn't apply to anyone reading this. WEE.

Ryan Reynolds likes Magnet [07 Apr 2005|03:13am]

From Dallas Music Guide (interview with Jessical Biel and Ryan Reynolds):

DMG: What kind of music are you two listening to…on your iPod or otherwise?

...

RR: John Tesh. I just listened to Tesh. Actually, there’s this band called Magnet that I just discovered. They’re my favorite. They’re from Norway. They’re like Radiohead.

John Tesh, Magnet, and Radiohead all smooshed together. Not quite sure what to think about that. I wish people would realize that Magnet is one guy and not a band, but ahhh well; it's forgivable. ;)

Apologies in advance, this isn't a post about Magnet...

But with regards to indie & lo-fi, is anyone a fan of Sparklehorse? If you haven't heard them, I'd recommend checking them out. I'd post the link to their site, but it's under construction.

Sparklehorse are the band that basically got me into low key indie, but I have yet to meet anyone else who likes them, except for a few of my weary friends upon whom I've forced many a mixtape...

It's come to my attention that far too many people have no idea who Even Johansen is. Which is a shame, since he's amazingly talented. I started this community in hopes to spread the word about him even if it's just to a couple of people. If you're a fan of Magnet then please join and post and make this an active community for all Even fans.
