What a strange weekend.
Too much Buffy on Friday night with Lipsy [as anyone who is my friend on Facebook may have noticed]
Drove to Wolverhampton to see family we've got up there with my Uncle on Saturday. It was fucking weird. We drove for 4 hours, they didn't offer us any food, they didn't introduce us to any of the many children that were there [ I assume they were cousins of some variety] and it was just weird. We left feeling a bit weird and freaked out by the whole experience.
Too much Jager/Tequila/Beer on Saturday at Pop Art, which was buckets of fun, but as usual ended in me cryin gin the kitchen and then literally drinking myself to sleep on the tequila left over from the geekfest. Oh, and phoning half of America, and potentially agreeing to never leave when I get there.
And too much sun yesterday, I went for a walk on the common and spent at least 3 hours asleep under a tree listening to Sufjan Stevens.
Evann also called me back last night at midnight, I was very asleep and the only thing I remember her saying was 'You are here for the elections, I don't know whats going to happen if Obama doesnt get in - there will be ALOT of drinking, we are all fucked, its going to be fucked up.'
I'll drink to that.

Saturday: For the first time in years, it did NOT rain and we were actually able to have pumpkin carving in our yard! more on that later...
Today: Cleaning up yesterday's mess, inside and out, Autumnfest with Nicki, Dicky and D, then a nighttime Hay ride, walking through a dark Orchard full of flickering Jack O'lanterns, and Fireworks. Next, early to bed with Bride of Frankenstein.
*happy sigh* We love Fall.
Today's Octoberfest entry is a fun fan-made music video using scenes from creepy, silent Expressionist classic, Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari. I'm not generally a fan of Marilyn Manson, but I do enjoy this cover quite a bit. Probably because you just can't get "I Put a Spell on You" wrong. Truth.

Yay. Long weekend. SWEET!!!
Right now I am in my pjs, just having finished watching a romantic comedy 'You've Got Mail'. It's a movie about a man and woman who fall in love by email. The catch is that in real life they know each other, and hate each other. The man realizes the woman from the internet is actually this woman that he hates, and he gets her to fall in love with him. Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks play the main characters. It's just a cute movie. It's based on an old movie called 'the shop around the corner'. I tried to get it from the library, but for some reason I can't seem to make a hold on it. I guess I'll have to get it from the video store.
Lately I've been watching older films. Last weekend I watched 'Funny Face' with Audrey Hepburn. My favorite part of it was the fashion. I am waiting for Sunset Boulevard, The Court Jester, Sabrina, and A Place in the Sun from the library. I am looking forward to watching them.
Right now I'm into two new music artists. One is a band called 'Donora', which you can find on myspace. I first heard their music from a 'postsecret' video. I check the website every week, and one week they had a video, and it went to their music. Another good artist is Trevor Hall. He actually has a concert in my town, but I don't know if I'll get to go, because none of my friends have interest. But, check him out on myspace aswell, if you're so inclined.
Not much else going on. My mom is in Hamilton today, and I opted to stay in the city because I'm going to get a massage! I've been wanting one so badly that I chose it over going on a hike. Whatever, to be totally honest, it's kinda nice to have the apartment all to myself. I can eat as much as I want, watch as much tv as I want, and just relax.
Tonight I may get together with a friend, then on Sunday I'm seeing a friend who has come to town for thanksgiving. Sunday night I'm having dinner with my moms friend and her family. Then Monday I'm having lunch with my dads family. It'll probably all be a bit uncomfortable, but there isn't much I can do about that.
I should really go get dressed now. It is 2:45 already!!! Everyone have a great long weekend.

Just when I was about ready to throw the towel in after a long day at work and an even longer week, after having had a bit too much to drink, and after having watched a few to many chick flicks, I got a call from a girl from work, Hser Moo Paw, who wanted to say hello. She didn't come today, but she said she did see Eh Sheek, a 19 year old boy, crying because he was so sad and so sorry that he kicked me in the face while breakdancing. Haha. It was adorable. He was so sorry! He's one of my favorites. He has such a good heart. They all do. This is why I put up with all of it. Earlier, I really felt incompetent. Which is dumb because I'm not and I definitely wasn't being incompetent today... it was just hectic with 33 kids running around screaming, covered with frosting (from our cupcake activity). I just lost sight of why I work with kids, and they really served as a reminder. They make me smile when I can't even think straight, and that means a lot to me. I'm so lucky to have them.

Connecticut Supreme Court rules same-sex couples can marry
Which is cool, but...out come the crazies.
According to Justice Peter T. Zarella, the purpose of marriage laws is to "privilege and regulate procreative conduct."
Wait. What?!
Last time I checked, and maybe I'll sound a little Liberation, but since when does the government have any business controlling private affairs?
Oh, well, I guess if they can try and control my ovaries, they can try and control my sex life, too.
I'm such a lazy, passive-aggressive anarchist type.

yesterday was my birthday and it was probably one of the best i've ever had. i had the day off work so skeet and i went to long beach and just chilled all day. i'm not a big party person so it was nice having a low key day. when we got back we went to sophie's apartment and had a small shin dig to worship my birth with cake and drunkness. i'll post some shin dig pictures eventually.
we're flying to vegas tonight for the weekend. i've never been before so i'm uber excited. skeet and i got a honeymoon suite so i'm praying it has a heart shaped bed. bow chick a wow wow, sexually tacky to the max!
it's weird, i felt so depressed when i turned 22, i felt like i was getting so old. and now that i'm 23, i'm very happy about it. maybe just because i like the number 23 itself but i still feel great about how things are going in my life right now. leaving behind everything negative that was ruining my life has made every day better than the day before. forget the past and enjoy the present.

Tonight my friends and i got into a discussion about religion. How interesting and yet i feel like i am missing out. I know its never to late to pick it up, but it wouldnt feel real enough. And thinking about faith reminds me when i was depresso expresso, and wondered why anyone would have to do it. But i do have some sort of faith i assume? I like to believe that i am going to see my grandparents again
Well, thank god its friday. Two more classes and then i am going HOMEEE. Then i'm going to see ambface. This week was hard.

I'm going to be IN AMERICA on voting day, which I find interesting, I plan to make sure everyone I know in LA votes although I am sure they will be doing so anyway, I might try and sneak in and vote or potentially I will just stand back and be mildly amused by the insanity of it all.
WHy am I enjoying Cute Is What We Aim For?

Well things have continued to go well. I got a B+ on my english exam and yeaaa. I also wrote my paper for tomorrow and studyed for my exam. Yeeeahhhhhaaaa. Moving on, i find it hard believe how many stupid/illogical people i am surrounded by. A few people got into a conversation (i dont know how) about the question: 'if a building is on fire, and your pet was in there and a human was in there who would you save?'
uhhh that should not even be a question.

I've spent the last two days making name badges for people for a conference tomorrow.
I just went all red because I got 'mad props' for them being so amazing.
Tanner wins.
I just had to emergancy call Curtis from a pharmacy asking what the amazing nose spray he uses is [Sinex, for reference] because my head has been literally about to overflow with snot all day. One puff and its better already.
It would be wrong to not go to art class right.

I am currently in the worse pain I think I've ever experienced. I think my shoulder has actually shriveled up and died, the paid is so intenese and there is literally no muscle left on my shoulder at all, its just my bone. The Dr said I would get a letter telling me to call for physio, but nothing has emerged.
Its fucking unreal how much pain I'm in and its freaking me out.

October is treating me very kindly. Since we last spoke,
I've gone with H and S on a Victorian-style cemetery picnic,
learned the circular six parry (which is one of those awesome swirly blocks that people do in the movies... You can see some here. For example, at the 5:33 mark. Oh, Cyrano...*sigh* And it's the Jose Ferrer version! But they're all good, aren't they?)
spent a night around a campfire with some of my favourite people,
and been touched and extremely surprised by an 80's themed birthday party. (My birthday is not for another month and a half. Now that's a surprise party!)
More on the first and last soon.
Today's Octoberfest entry is for Jessica...
"Goblin" , a handmade soap inspired by Goblin Market. It even has a sprinkle of real gold spattered over the top, to keep those goblin merchants from charging you in undesirable ways ;) By one of my favourite etsy sellers, Haunt. She's got a variety of delicious autumn-themed items for sale. But if you order, be prepared to wait...in the past week, she has made well over 500 sales!
