Welcome to ___guiding_star!

The community you have stumbled upon here is not like any other Soeur-based community, in the sense that we take into account that there may be some male livejournal users out there that may be interested in this sort of thing. Therefore, both genders are welcome inside this community, creating a sisterhood/brotherhood type system.

This community is not to be treated as a game. The bonds between these families are real, and are not to be treated as some sort of frivolity. If you have any intentions of not taking this seriously, then you have intentions of hurting people within this community, and I will kindly ask you to not consider looking any further. Other than that, this place is meant to be a enjoyable community where you can find a family and make some great friends.

There are two ways to go if you're a newcomer to this community. If you're eighteen years of age, or older, you have the option of creating your own family. Meaning you will be in charge of taking someone under your wing, forming a friendship with them, and helping them on their road through life. If you're not eighteen, or even if you are eighteen or older, but don't feel that you could handle the responsibility, you could become what we affectionately call an "Orphan Star."

Before going into any other details, the layout of a typical family on ___guiding_star is quite simple:

A Family, taking the name of a constellation, has four points. Each point is connected to another in some way, but there is an order to such chaos.

~ Bright Star: You are responsible for the entirety of your family.
~ Shadow Star: You will support your Bright Star, as well being able to be responsible for a Young Star of your own.
~ Light Star: You will support both of your Elder Stars, as well being eligible for being responsible for a Young Star of your own some day.
~ Nova Star: You will support all three of your Elder Stars. You cannot take on a Young Star of your own.

Given that there is order to this chaos, there are also rules that coincide with this. If you have been taken on as a Shadow Star or a Light Star, you must wait a period of one month before being able to make a request for a Young Star of your own. This period gives you and your Elder Star a sufficient amount of time to form a bond with each other. Given that, there is no rule that states you must make a request. You can wait as long as you'd like.

The idea for our community, ___guiding_star, came from the anime Maria-Sama ga Miteru and their Soeur System. We have made this community for those that wish to experience something similar, but without the anime as an influencing theme.
