^^; I'm nervous about posting here for some reason ~
Anyways, I was wondering where everyone buys their Cure magazines (excluding purchasing them from other LJ members). I don't like what jpophouse did to their site (moved everything to ebay), and I'm looking for another place to purchase the magazine other than cdjapan. I was thinking of going straight through the Cure webbie, but do they ship outside of Japan? @_@ I don't understand the site too well, even with it translated XD I fail, lols.

| FanimeCon Promotion Videos! |
[15 Apr 2008|08:19pm] |
|
Hey everyone! As you all probably know, AnCafe will be performing at FanimeCon in San Jose next month. In addition to this being their first time performing in the US, this will also be Fanime's very first time offering JRock & JPop Video Programming!
As the one in charge of running the JRock/JPop Video Programming, I was asked to create some promotional videos for the events and, enlisting the aid of 24cylinders and her mad video editing skills, I present them to you now as a taste of things to come. It being the first time that the convention is offering such video programming, we're all very excited and hope that those attending the convention will be, too. And that maybe it might persuade some fence-sitters to hop on over and check it out!
( Promo Clips )
FanimeCon takes place May 23-26 in San Jose, CA. JRock/JPop Video Programming will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from Midnight until Noon - perfect for the night owl, the insomniac, AND the early bird! Exact location to be announced.
DISCLAIMER Concept by: dazzlingdespair Video editing by: 24cylinders Requested and approved by: FanimeCon Original videos property of the artists featured and their management

| Looking for Vol. 52 |
[08 Jan 2008|11:07pm] |
Hi everyone! Im really desperate for a copy of the January 2008 issue, vol. 52 (bis's last photoshoot -weep-). I've seen the copy with Wizard on it - I don't know if it's the same issue with just two different covers, or a completely different one - but I'd prefer to get it at least a dollar or two cheaper than the $20 I've been seeing it around for.
Does anyone have a copy up for sale?
Or, can someone at least tell me if the Wizard one is the same issue?

| NEW RP COMMUNITY PROMOTION |
[10 Oct 2007|05:10pm] |
It's non-AU with a twist!
ikkininomu (also known as New Sekai Intl Travel) is an RP community based on the real-time lives and careers of JRockers. The twist comes in with the travel agency, which works with the various indies and major labels to send small groups of randomly selected JRockers on fabulous, fun-filled vacations. Let's face it: these boys work hard and don't they deserve a little vacation time? Would your muse like to go on a cruise of the Greek Islands? Maybe they'd rather hit the town with the nightlife in Monte Carlo. There are endless possibilities and everyone is welcome! If you're interested in joining or just want a little more information, come check us out!
( Promo Banner )
-I check all community infos for rules about RP promotion. If I have missed something or misunderstood and this isn't allowed, please let me know and I will remove this post. Thank you.

| Anyone with the newer Cure issues~ |
[29 Aug 2007|06:31pm] |
Can anyone tell me if the magazines from issue 45 (june 07, guy's family cover) onwards, include a poster? I just got my stack of magazines sent to me and I've noticed that other than having no poster, the actual magazine is also smaller in size =o
Thanks~

| SGMS Fashion Show Deadline fast approaching |
[27 Aug 2007|08:36am] |
We're coming up on the deadline, so if you live in Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa or Wisconsin, this is for you :)
Open Call for Designers - Schoolgirls and Mobilesuits, Minneapolis, MN
Also, it looks like if you register before August 31 you get a $10 discount on entrance into SGMS. Do it if you can, it's worth the $10 savings. The thing is, because it's a conferance/workshop at a huge art college, it's a bit expensive. They fly in academics from around the world as well as amazing artists to teach you manga art. We had Udonone year! This year is Tania Del Rio (of Sabrina the Teenage Witch). She's very nice. The artist from our convention went to college with her, so they go way back. Also, Jeremy Rossfrom Tokyopop usually does a portfolio review and because the group is usually under $100 people, you can spend the whole weekend with the guests. Crispin Freeman is coming again this year and he's just about the biggest sweetheart ever. The lady who used to run the fashion show with me is a professor of fashion at University of Indiana. I always call her the Doctor of Fashion since she actually has a doctorate. Heh :) Anyway, there are usually good fashion talks as well as the fashion show on Friday.
*plug* Plus, you can prereg for Kakkoi|con :) *plug*
Well, I suppose that's enough. Email me if you are interested or have any questions about the show at all. I think I have enough models in the pool, so if you are a designer or hair and makeup artist, definately contact me. Thanks!
x-posted so everyone can have an opportunity to apply :)

[22 May 2007|10:09am] |
I just picked up my June issue and instead of it being 9x12 it's 8.5x11. Also, it was wrapped up in plastic but it had no poster. I don't know if it was supposed to have something or if they're still trying to work out a good way to do the poster now that it has to be smaller but I figured I'd start the discussion.
It upset my mom greatly because she just bought me a year's subscription through our local Sanseido and paid upfront, and then they go and change the magazine without reducing the cost. >_>;; Personally I think it was a stupid idea to change the size, regardless of reason, because now it doesn't look like as good a magazine as Shoxx or Fool's Mate. :/
