Welcome to ___17years, an RPG dedicated to Franz Ferdinand. No hard
feelings, please. We are not here to intervene with the other Role-Playing Journals. Everybody knows we cannot stand up to the legacy of the other RPG communities. This is just a game for our own entertainment and we're not involved with Franz and co. in any way, nor are we making any money off this, or trying to start rumors. So don't take offense, remember that it's not real, and... er, don't sue?

Rules and Reminders

1) You must be a part of the game to post in this community! In other words you have to have an RPjournal and a character and be accepted by the mods. Posting with your personal journal is not allowed, that's what the OOC (Out Of Character) community is for.

2) If you aren't a player, you are more than welcome to friend the community and follow the action! The game moves very quickly and changes regularly. Keep checking back for updates! All we ask is that you don't comment in the characters' personal journals, which are likely not friends-locked. Cos... that's kind of weird :D You can comment in the OOC community if you'd like, we dig feedback. Just keep it polite, s'all.

3) Players, if you think of something creative such as a new plot development (or a new way to initiate an orgy) then, by all means, please post in the OOC community. Creative ideas for plots and events can make the game even more interesting for everyone.

4) Killing off your character is somewhat frowned upon. Killing off someone else's character without their permission is definitely frowned upon. Respect your fellow players and work out plot ideas with them if it involves their character. One helpful thing to remember is to play your own character and not anyone else's: don't assume what their character will do or how they will react. It helps keep things spontaneous and is just common courtesy :D

5) All conflict is to be kept in-character. OOC drama is a bad thing, because we're all friends here, we have a lot of fun, and it ought to be kept that way. If you have a problem with another player, please don't take it out on everyone else by making a scene in the game or in the OOC community. Talk to the mods allforyouremy and fecklesslyfine if you have any problems and need mediation of some sort; it's what we're here for!

6) We're slash- and femmeslash-friendly (and will definitely not-so-subtly encourage it) so if you like it, wonderful. If you're not a fan of slash, you can still join and have fun. If you're rampantly homophobic, this isn't the game for you. Het isn't outlawed, of course; it just happens that a majority of the characters are male and horny.

7) Most events in this RPG have not actually taken place and very likely will never take place. We play within an alternate reality in which the band Franz Ferdinand as we know it does not exist, so keep that in mind!

If we keep close to these rules then the game should run very smoothly! Most of these things are pretty much common-sense, so have fun with it! That's what it's here for.

We are no longer in the schoolboy stage. All characters have graduated (or dropped out of) Brixton Academy and are now adults in their early twenties living in Glasgow. Keep that in mind!

Note: Please wait to create a character journal until we have approved you as a member. We wouldn't want you to go to the trouble and then, for one reason or another, you not end up in the game. We don't anticipate that happening, but it's just easier on everyone.
