A different game Hiya! This is a bit off-topic so I'll keep it short, but I think it might appeal... I've made a website where people can upload simplified/stickpeople versions of film/TV posters and famous scenes, then other people have to guess what the name is from the picture. At time of writing there's over 200 puzzles on there, and it's growing every day: http://www.StickScene.comPlease come along and play, alternatively the arty among you might want to make some new pictures! To do that you need to create a member account using the 'join' link. You can then see the 'submit puzzle' page, which has links to http://www.imdb.com to check details and a link that allows you to see a list of all the films made so far. You can make a duplicate of a film that's already been done, but please make it of a different image! Thanks for reading this! I hope to see some of you making new puzzle pictures! |

alright, i figured i might as well contribute for some matchups. "Icons through the ages" is kinda what I'm going for, as they seem to be the most challenging. I'm picking a theme, and seeing if you can link a past icon to a current one....
first, sex symbols.. Jane Russell to Catherine Zeta-Jones
next, leading men... Cary Grant to Viggo Mortensen
and, lastly, character 'villains'... Sydney Greenstreet to Michael Wincott
good luck!
(also, i don't have the answers at all.) |

hi all. i'm christian, etc etc. when i saw this group, it made me cackle, cuz we started playing this game at school in all of our boredom just a few days ago, and we've been playing it compulsively ever since. here are a couple we had a tough time with (but we got'em figured out). sean connery ----> nicole kidman john cusack ----> whoopi goldberg. and one off the top of my head..... kevin spacey ----> sissy spacek (this one's actually really easy, but sissy's name was the first one to pop into my head). Okay...so my dad is a movie....well, nut isn't the word...the way some people are movie nuts, he's a movie psycho. He knows tons of them. I feed him 6 degree pairings once in a while just to watch him figure them out, every single time, within 3 hours at the most, and without looking anything up. Most recently, I gave him this:
Charlie Chaplin ---> Will Smith
He pulled it off in five moves, I believe. It never ceases to amaze me. I wanna see if anybody else can do it. Also, I wanna see if his is valid by asking if directors count. Can you connect the guy who directed a movie to the actress in that movie? Or is it just on screen actors. I always played with just people who were *in* the movie. He uses directors from time to time, which bugs me. He did that with this pairing. Let's see what answers we get, hmm?

Macaulay Culkin >> Haley Joel Osment
Jack Nicholson >> Anthony Hopkins
Johnny Depp >> Brad Pitt
Some are easier than others, heh. Those are the only ones I can recall at the moment... |

I'm bored. I should be doing homework. I should be sleeping. But...instead I'm doing 6 degrees of separation! Yeah!
Reese Witherspoon --> Ben Affleck
Jack Black --> Sean Connery |

Dennis Quaid >>> Robbie Coltrane
I was insanely bored during class and found like 6 or 8 solutions.
Jennifer Aniston >>> Alan Rickman
I haven't tried it, my friend said he knew there must be a link so I wrote it down to work on it but never got around to it.
A good way to come up with random actors is to have your movie collection in alphabetical order and pick 2 movies that are next to each other and pick an actor from each one. NOTE: This method does not work with sequels...

Hello, I just joined this community.
Six degrees of separation is a fun game, and amazingly it almost always works. I picked two random names Matthew Lillard --> Julia Roberts. I actually did it (with the help of IMDb!):
Matthew Lillard was in Wicker Park with Josh Hartnett who was in Black Hawk Down with Ewan McGregor who was in Star Wars with Natalie Portman who was in Closer with Julia Roberts. Whew!
Let's see, some others for you all to try: (these do work because I have the answers)
Natalie Portman --> Adam Sandler
Winona Rider --> Robin Williams
Ethan Embry --> Madonna
Have fun kids! |
