Hey all! I took the liberty of making some business cards for our booth this year. I remembered that a few tables had them last year and i thought it was a cool idea. Also, if I can remember to bring them, I thought I'd bring a few paper lunch bags to put the purchased comics in. Time permitting, I may even make labels to seal the bags with.

Hey guys, I need your pages scanned in at 300dpi (higher dpi is okay too) by Sunday morning. Nur, Nat, and I will be attempting to put books together Sunday. If we use files lower than the pages don't look good, and we want our awesome doujin to look good. =D

Amanda-Can you resend your art for the cover? I didn't get it in time and the link ran out. Sorry. :(

Hey guys, since it's been sort of decided that our title will be Gao Gao or at least something containing Gao, I've been using my "precious time" to look at fonts we could use for our title... aka trying to keep myself awake during crits in art lab. Anyway, tell me what you think:

Nur, Nat, and I will be working on the front cover. Our current plan is to have everyone is dinosaur/prehistoric animal outfits. Amanda and Alex are in charge of the back cover.

Now, will our cover be in black and white or color?

We should probably try to get together online again and try to figure the last bit of things out. How does Sunday afternoon/evening sound for people?

I'm making 5pkbc labels in my Flexo class. I'll probably use the logo, but I thought it'd be cool to put doodles of ourselves on it. Sooo, if you could, would you draw me a SUPER SIMPLE doodle of yourself? I mean SUPER SIMPLE. LINE ART.

Hey all, we'll need to have one of our "usual" chats on Wednesday, so try to be online. I'll be by my computer pretty much from 3pm-10pm, so I'm good anytime between. We'll discuss comic order, file preparation, and file sending.

I'm probably the only one so excited by this, but... WE CAN SEND INDESIGN FILES! WOOOOO! Although I'll probably just output a PDF. =P

Not too much going on here. Going up to Davis for the weekend to go to a dance (although I don't dance...well) with Heavenly_Spin, Hip_Cyclobutane and The_Disco_Kid so that should prove fun. Semi-formal and of course what color am I wearing? Black (technically, it's a shade)! I can't seem to ever find any outfit that I like that is not black. *sigh* That's the way I am. Hopefully, I can get my hair to cooperate Saturday.

Registering for Spring classes tomorrow. I hope things go according to plan. I can only register for up to 14 units during this period but will be able to register for more in about 2 weeks (College policy).

A Bit About the Original Characters:
Umino Kouryuu--Iruka's 20 year old son in a RP. This takes place in the future of the Naruto world and Iruka is 44. Yes, Iruka is still with Kakashi. An incident occured and Kouryuu came about. He's NOT from either Iruka or Kakashi!

Tenrai Stryke-Ziergahd--My character in a chain story on a message board of old high school friends. She's married to former dragon hunter turned dragon Xye Ziergahd, hence the last part of her last name. She's kept her maiden last name because that's how she came across her fame as an assassin. She's also an RP character.

Kuro Makura--My character in an RP with cookievalkyrie. She, like Tenrai, is an assassin but for the girl's division on Weiß (Weiß Kreuz). She's Yoji's counterpart.

Toushi Arashi--cookievalkyrie's character in our RP. She too is an assassin in the Weiß girls division and is Ken's counterpart.

Kuro Takahito--I haven't planned out his story much except for the fact that he's presumed dead (killed in the massacre of the Kuro family). He's Makura's older brother and is SUPOSED to look like Hidaka Ken.

Tseng Luo Chang--A yakuza in a Californian division. Despite being Chinese, he's still a yakuza. Sadly he puts his work before his family.

Brenden--Tseng Luo Chang's son.

Printing Printing Printing

I bet everyone has heard of BAAU (Bay Area Artists United), right? Well, they always print their annual compilation, BAAU Down. We should do that.

I have found a printer that can print a 200 page trade paperback with a color cover/back cover for about $4.20 per book with a $20 set up cost. Now, i don't know the quality of the paper or the quality of the printing, but this is something we can afford. We can print anything from 24 pages to 800 pages, and the size of the book can vary.

Check it out.

I think we could totally do something like this... Fanime maaay be too soon, but there are many other cons. tell me what you think!

Animal Version Prompt

I think I thought too much about this, but I had been wanting to do this for a long time, so I'm just going to say it's justified.

....or something....

A few problems here and there (the muzzle is a tiny bit long and the front paws aren't quite right), but I'm happy with the result. I call it a Fene (Feline-Canine). Dork level, up! When I thought about animals I represent, my thoughts would always go back to cats and dogs. I tried to incorporate a lot of little things from the main characters of my series. ^_^

Meaning behind the markings and the little things about this Fene:
-the ears are actually rounded like a cat's, but there are dark tufts of fur that make them look longer and pointy.
-the marking on the forehead (it's hard to see in this picture) represent the forehead marking or my favorite animal, the cougar, and the design of my character Kiete's hair.
-There are small tufts of fur sticking out above the eyes, representing Tufty.
-The eyes are Kale's eyes.
-The scar on the left side of the face (not visible in this picture) represent's Kakuma's birthmark.
-The markings on the right shoulder represent Tella, the wolf-demon mother of Deshret and Kemet (she's also Farbe's wife).
-The "armband" marking on the left front paw represents Caine's symbol of power.
-The goggles and scarf are in this picture because they both rock. =3

I was working for a while on stuff, but this is where the ideas stared to work well. I did this during work. =3

Damn you, feet. I really really really tried to get it right.

Explanation of some of the markings. hard to read in this picture, but... let me to my best to write it out.

Tsuna doodles from classes. <3 ...jenn trimmed my hair today and I am a happy camper. <3

Doodles in my marketing and sales lab. Unfortunately, I didn't have any references, so he doesn't look very Tsuna-ish... Don't pay attention to the eyes on top, those are for one of my characters.

Tsuna's mittens! Doodling in my Bindery and Finishing class (I'm such a bad student)... I actually like this one. ^_^
