Details:
When: Aug 29th to 31th, 2008
Where: UW site, Acton On
Cost: $40
Blankets: 1

Our 5th event of the season, we continue to build momentum. Every event so far has broken the attendance record for the previous events and we look to keep that ball rolling.

After the amount of roleplaying plots required for a long 4 day event, we're looking to get back to intense storylines and combat, so polish your weapons... this ride will be bumpy.

..........

Underworld is a fantasy, medieval, live-roleplaying system. Its complex and intelligent rules allow for broad character development including aspects of race, culture, socio-economic background, and faith.

Not for the faint of heart, the Underworld LARP has a minimum age restriction of 18 years of age and prides itself on a wide variety of plot; from the fun adventures which LARPers have come to love, to those which include mature subject matter and challenging social issues that may be unsuitable for some. All players must sign our Waiver/Health form before playing to ensure that they fully understand their obligations and restrictions.

Underworld prides itself on its diversity and encourages a great time and an educational environment where people from all walks of life can interact and learn from and about each other. Players are encouraged to explore our website thoroughly (especially our policies section) in order to make an informed decision before participating in our events.

Cambridge, ON
(519) 653-4460

**note**
12:30 pm start time!

Point Total: 900 (4 actions per round)
Format: Unrestricted (though keywords will be ignored for this event for the purpose of theme teams)
BFC's: None
Feats: None

Barred Figures:
-any character with Hypersonic Speed or a SP that grants the power
-any Giant, Double-Base, Duo Attack, Colossal, or an SP that grants any of these powers.
-any character under 60 points
-any character over 200 points

Rules:

Your team must have 8 figures on it. Each will represent a different Lantern Corps. However, for this tournament Indigo/Violet will be combined and White will be added to represent Compassion. As such, you should have one of the following on your team:

-Green Lantern
-Yellow Lantern
-Blue Lantern
-Red Lantern
-Purple/Pink Lantern
-White Lantern
-Orange Lantern
-Black Lantern

a)Each Lantern must have the colour in their name (isolated, Red Tornado is ok but Alfred is not), or be the appropriate colour for the majority of its sculpt (Silver & Gold are not going to pass for White or Yellow). If you think it might not qualify, please ask.

b)A Lantern's powers have no effect on Lanterns of the same colour unless it is the only figure remaining on your opponent's force.

c)Team Abilities will be ignored for this tournament. Each Lantern colour will have it's own ability. However, to avoid teams exploiting them, they will not be posted. Instead, they will be explained at the start of the tournament, with enough time beforehand for everyone to be familiar with them before play starts. There will also be a reference sheet beside each match.

d)All characters are considered to have the Wing speed symbol.

e)If you have a Space Map, please bring it as a precaution, as ideally all matches will take place in Space.

Retro Rocket Comics - Heroclix Tournament July 18th, 2008

Retro Rocket Comics and Toys
124 Bishop Street N
Cambridge, ON
(519) 653-4460

**note**
1 pm start time!

Point Total: 500 (4 actions per round)
Format: Unrestricted (though keywords will be ignored for this event)
BFC's: You may bring 3, but only play two. There will be a pre-determined BFC for the final round.
Feats: None

Barred Figures:
-Any character with Perplex, Outwit, Ranged Combat Expert, Close Combat Expert, Mastermind, or ANY Special Power that duplicates any of these effects.
-any character with more than one lightning bolt (ranged targets)
-Any character with the Superman Enemy Team Ability
-Any character that is considered a Veteran, either by way of red ring or on their character card.

Rules:

It's Amateur Night!

In addition to the powers barred from play, the following are in effect:

Would You People Please Listen!!!
-Leadership is a non-optional power. If you have it, you must use it with it's new modification for this event :
On a 5-6: You are granted an extra action
On a 3-4: No action is granted
On a 1-2: You LOSE one action for that round

**note**
This effect does not stack. Regardless of how many people you have with Leadership on your team, you only roll once. The roll can be affected by Probability Control.

Shields Are Up!....Halfway.
-Combat Reflexes and Energy Shield grant a +1 instead of a +2 bonus to their respective defenses.

I Can't Slow Down!!!
-a character attempting to make an attack using Hypersonic Speed must roll a d6 first. On a 1-2, the character is unable to attack anyone but must move it's full movement PAST the intended target.

We're Not Super Heroes, More Like...Above Average
-ALL rolls are subject to a -1. The only exceptions to this are Leadership rolls, Hypersonic rolls (the attack is still a -1 if successful) and the Skrull TA. However, Support and Blades/Claws/Fangs treat zero or negative results as a one, while Regeneration continues to treat a negative result as zero.

He Wasn't Supposed To Duck!
-If you target an opposing piece that is based by another member of your team and you roll a critical miss, the attack hits your ally as if it were the original target. The damage can be reduced, but not avoided. If the attack was for Mind Control, the character attempting to make the attack takes one click of penetrating damage.

For example, Sabretooth charges Black Lightning who is already based by Eclipso. He Critically Misses while trying to use BCF. The Blades damage is 4. It hits Eclipso instead, but he has Impervious. He may not roll to avoid the damage, but still reduces it by 2.

Retro Rocket Comics - Heroclix Tournament July 12th, 2008

Retro Rocket Comics and Toys
124 Bishop Street N
Cambridge, ON
(519) 653-4460

HEROCLIX TOURNAMENT FORMAT for this SATURDAY, JULY 12th, 2008:

Build a 600pt Unrestricted team with the following "theme":

You MUST have one (and only one) piece with either the POWER COSMIC or QUINTESSENCE team ability, in addition to the remainder of your team. Your team must have a minimum of 4 figures, a maximum of 8 (including pogs).

Once during your turn, as a FREE ACTION, you may "transfer" the POWER COSMIC/QUINTESSENCE TA to any other figure on your team.

The recipient is now considered to have the POWER COSMIC/QUINTESSENCE. The donor is now in a weakened state, and has NO team ability.

The new "owner" of the POWER COSMIC/QUINTESSENCE TA may in turn "transfer" this TA to another friendly figure - although not in the same round. If this occurs, the recipient is now considered to have the POWER COSMIC/QUINTESSENCE. The donor is now in a weakened state, and returns to their previous team ability.

eg. Silver Surfer (PC) gives the POWER COSMIC to Captain America (Ultimates). Silver Surfer now has NO team ability, and Captain America loses Ultimates, and gains Power Cosmic TA. Next turn Captain America (PC) gives the POWER COSMIC to Hawkeye (Ultimates). Captain America returns to Ultimates TA, Hawkeye gains the POWER COSMIC TA, and loses Ultimates TA.

NOTE: Each and every time you attempt to give the POWER COSMIC/QUINTESSENCE TA to another friendly player it potentially comes at a devastating cost.

The donor must roll 2d6.

- On a roll of 3-11, deal the donor ONE (1) unavoidable damage.

- On a roll of 2, deal the donor TWO (2) unavoidable damage AND the recipient ONE (1) unavoidable damage.

- On a roll of 12 the donor/recipient is dealt NO DAMAGE.

EACH figure on your team who is not the ORIGINAL owner of the POWER COSMIC/QUINTESSENCE TA may only be given this new TA once per game. The ORIGINAL owner may be given it back (and then may give it to someone else at their discretion) throughout the game.

eg. team is SILVER SURFER (PC), CAPTAIN AMERICA (U), HAWKEYE (U), IRON WIDOW (U), BLACK PANTHER (Aveng). The TA could be transfer in (but is not limited to) this fashion:

Silver Surfer -> Captain America -> Silver Surfer -> Hawkeye -> Iron Widow -> Silver Surfer -> Black Panther -> Silver Surfer.

** If a character who is not the original owner of the POWER COSMIC/QUINTESSENCE TA is KO'd while in possession of this TA, it immediately revert back to the original owner. The owner then takes ONE (1) Unavoidable damage due to the unexpected surge of power entering their body. **

REGULAR HOUSE RULES APPLY. This is the LAST EVENT using the "old rules". ALL PLAYERS will be expected to be playing with the NEW RULES (Fantastic Four starter set) NEXT WEEK.

Retro Rocket NEW Heroclix HOUSE RULES June 4th, 2008

As most of us know, Wizkids has been throwing rule change after rule change at us recently. Not only is it difficult for the seasoned player to grasp at the best of times, but new players must find it even more so. With the addition of special objects, event dials, and special condition maps, it can be almost overwhelming.

To combat this, these new HOUSE RULES will be in effect EVERY WEEK for EVERY TOURNAMENT, unless otherwise noted in a specific tournament.

1) 10% of build total limit on Feats. (so a 500pt game may have 50pts MAX of Feat Cards)

2) Limit of ONE Special Object per player per game. ( eg. Turret or 3-D Dumpster or Kinetic Accelerator) You may bring any number to choose from for the duration of the tourney, but only ONE per match.

3) Allowance of ONE proxy Feat Card or Battlefield Condition per tournament, provided that the player brings a printed out copy of the card. You MUST have a print-out or you cannot proxy from now on.

4) Both players must agree to playing on maps with special rules or using Event Dials. (Space map, Galactus map, Dawn of Time map, etc.)

5) Team Build Sheet is to be handed in with tournament fee before gaming area entered.

6) "HIGHLANDER" rule in full effect. (No more than ONE of any figure (or pog) from a given set. Characters with the same name from different sets are permitted.)

Retro Rocket Comics and Toys - NEW Heroclix Tournament Procedure

Retro Rocket Comics and Toys
124 Bishop Street North #14
Cambridge, ON
N3H 2K1

Due to growing player concerns that have been recently brought to my attention, ALL players will now be expected to adhere to the following additional rule:

Prior to entering the gaming area on tournament days, each player will be expected to fill out a simple form which will serve as documentation of: team build (including names and point totals of all characters, as well as feats), team build total, and a list of the 4 chosen Battlefield Conditions to be played. Once handed in, this can NOT be altered.

Again, this is to be done BEFORE you enter the gaming area. Forms will be provided. Your form will be handed to your first opponent for verification and each opponent afterwards.

Thank you in advance for complying.
