Well, to start off the bat...at age 18 I was able to accomplish a life long dream of working in a bookstore, recently. *flaunts the geekness of it all* Though, it's just temporary but still! Good and bad, it's awesome...and nice to rant about down right bitchy customers, late co-workers and horrible higher-ups like everyone else.
Also, my name is Gabriele, but almost no one refers to me as that unless they don't know me and just happen to see that somewhere it's documented that the name my parents wanted to refer to me as was Gabriele. I was thinking of changing it to many differnet things at various points, one involves a long story about lieing to a pastor and the whole youth group. My mother still has no idea what I was doing and I'm more or less proud of the fact that somewhere, for some reason, it's more than likely documented to be a sin of some sort. Stupidest sin of all, I say, and out of all the dumb things I've done, that's that one that will get me... Like speeding tickets and mobsters, honestly.
....though the only thing I've really had a hand in killing was a fish or two...and then there was that petrified lizard in the closet...
Anywho, yeah. This is going to be my post for keeping track of all my books for the year...and possible for as long as this community and LJ exists. [/lazy] Don't really want to make a new post each year, so let's be on with it!

Year: 2007
Mission: 50 books before January 1st, 2008
Status: Ohshit. We're doomed Cap'n! I cannae take much more o' this!
[1] Good Omens by Neil Gaiman & Terry Prachett | 10 out of 10
(READ THIS BOOK BEFORE LITTLE ALIENS TAKE AWAY YOUR RIGHTS TO SPEED AT DANGEROUS LEVELS AND LISTEN TO CLASSICAL MUSIC! Tis a very good read. I wholeheartedly recommend it. ...Okay, so technically, I read a few pages of the book before the first, but to make it fair I have reread those pages and thus, I have read this book as my first for the year. Ta-da!)
[2] The Pop-Up Mice of Mr.Brice by Dr. Seuss | 10 out of 10
(Some may see this as cheating. I view it as revisiting an old classic or enjoying my childhood. The Pop-Up Mice of Mr. Brice has been a favourite of mine ever since I was young. I still have an older copy, infact, stashed away in a drawer somewhere to prevent it from falling apart further. During a sell last month at Waldenbooks, I bought three of my favourite Dr. Seuss books to read and this was the very first one to be snatched up. Enjoyable for all ages, mind you.)
[3] Twin Signal (01) by Sachi Oshimizu | 9 out of 10
(Ahhh...Ever since I saw the three episode OVA I've been in love with this series. <3 Volume one of the manga did not disappoint in any way, shape and/or form. If anything, it only further edged along my love for the hilarious stories and awesome art. The only problem I did have with this was some of the translation dialogue; it was a tad too formal...but if you can over look that then it's a nice book to check out. x3 I can only wait with anticipation for the next volume!)

Oh, and I'm from Texas. Howdy.
Edit: Must I even say how badly I failed this challenge? *le sigh* Maybe I will try again in 2009, since I am already wayyyy to late to possibly even make it in 2008. - 3/28/08

It is quite fun to work in a bookstore, save the days when we get over a hundred boxes of merchandise and must store it all somewhere. Mostly wherever we do not have the room, and then things get annoying. Things also get annoying when people do not quite fathom that in order for a return an item you must have a receipt, but that's another story full of much mockery and cheap shots.
Most people refer to me as Gaby or Tiger. *amusement* I wasn't going to say anything about what to refer to me as unless someone asked and then there you were! XD Much fun.
At many times I've wanted to change my name to Rae, Torrence, Torashi or Tafia. (All three being the names of various RP characters.) At one point it was Serena and Saffiru, but I blame that on the many sugar highs and Sailor Moon marathons.
Thank you for the many compliments. x3 And you should come to Texas! We have many
geek fests!anime & fantasy conventions!Good Omens is love. :0) Totally. :0)
Yay! Another Good Omens fan! ^_^ That makes me happy because very few people I've tried to talk to about it actually knew what it was.
