I am unhappy with treatment of the two major plots (one built up across the whole book just to sputter out suddenly to make room for the poorly foreshadowed other) and I think that I would like to shake several characters firmly by the face now, thank you.

The characterization is also deeply age inappropriate; Bella acts far more like a 14 year old with latchkey kid experience then the 18 she turns in the beginning of the book and it is continually jarring.

In a completely trivial note: the cover art is REALLY striking and while I'm not giant fan of tulips I've always thought those (I think they're called Parrot Tulips) were really pretty.
