My full reviews for the first four books can be found here, Otherwhere Book Reviews.
THE GOOD NEIGHBORS: KIN (Vol. 1) by Holly Black & Ted Naifeh
YA, graphic novel, urban fantasy
If you liked Tithe, Valiant, and Ironside there's a very good chance you'll like this new series also since it features the same gritty look at teenage life and follows what happens to that life once the fae become involved. The only problem with this book really is that it costs too damn much when all you get is just over 100 pages.
LIVING WITH THE DEAD by Kelley Armstrong (Women of the Otherworld, book 9)
urban fantasy
I'm still not really sure about this book. It felt a little darker than the rest of the books because it deals with a cult-like group and all that entails, mental and physical abuse, a mass suicide plan, instilling fear of the outside world, etc. This book was also different from the others because a plain ol' human is finally a main character.
CAST IN FURY by Michelle Sagara (Chronicles of Elantra, book 4)
fantasy
Good series, but very involved. There's quite a few races and their unique cultures featured in the books along with a ton of re-occurring main and secondary characters. All the books in this series are right around 500 pages which means plenty of room for subplots along with the overall story arc. This series must be read in order or you will be completely lost so if you're looking for a light read this probably isn't it.
VULNERABLE by Amy Lane (Little Goddess trilogy, book 1)
paranormal romance, urban fantasy
This book is self-published using iUniverse so it isn't the easiest title to find (Amazon has it). If you like what's going on in the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter books currently then give this a try. Green is Lord of the hill and his power comes from love, touch, and sex so he sleeps with his people to bind them to him and to heal them when needed. There isn't a lot of graphic sex, but what there is borders on erotica so mature readers only please.

POISON INK by Christopher Golden
YA, horror, occult
This was a disappointment, especially because I love so many of Golden's other books and know he's capable of so much better. This book is a teen horror movie cliche almost all the way through. There's no surprises, no plot twists, and no originality to be had. The book is even too short to do any kind of character development really.
WOUNDED by Amy Lane (Little Goddess trilogy, book 2)
paranormal romance, urban fantasy
I liked the first book better. Cory loved who she wanted to love in the first book and that book seemed to be all about making your own choices and being ok with them even if other people wouldn't accept it. This book just seemed to be about taking all of Cory's decisions away and pushing her into situations that she would have never chosen on her own, especially with her love life.
