Community Info

Disclaimer:
The journals being used within this community and its sub-communities are fake and are in no way associated with the celebrities being portrayed. Under no circumstances should the content of these journals be taken seriously seeing as the players involved do not know their characters personally and do not claim to be them. The journals are not meant to reflect the celebrities' actual lives. Everything here is a part of a non-profit roleplaying game.

Getting Started:
1. Register a journal for your character on livejournal.com. Also register an AIM screenname because that is going to be how you interact with other characters.
2. When you register your username and AIM screenname for your character, have it pertain to your character in some way whether it's using their name in it or something related to them.
3. Make sure that you know some background to your character. Basically what we mean is that if you can't even spell his/her name correctly, it's an obvious sign that you need to pick someone else or just do a wee bit more research.
4. Please have a decent introduction in your journal before you apply. Make sure it's a public entry. It should be a good two to three(2-3) paragraphs (usually five(5) sentences a paragraph) introducing your character so the mods know that you have the general idea of how journaling will work. Fail to do so will result in rejection.

Involving Characters:
1. You can play only a maximum of two(2) characters. If any problems come out of this, then you'll hear from us. This community is open to PB (played by; see below, if unsure) and AU (alternate universe) only.
2. Do not kill off your character.
3. Don't block fellow characters on AIM. It's immature and we won't tolerate it.
4. When you decide to play a character, that means you have pulled them out of real life and put them in high school. Say you're playing Joel Madden of Good Charlotte; that means that the band Good Charlotte doesn't exist yet in our little alternate universe. Make sense? Good.
5. All of the characters live in North Carolina. Random, yes. But that's the location.
6. Due to past characters being a heavy influence to this community, characters under the irreplacable list are not to be overridden. However, we will allow them to be PBed (play-byed). This means you may use their face but give them an entirely different background and personality as well as a new name. You may use another face for a PB given that they're famous (Myspace originals are not accepted, although, people like Jac Vanek, Audrey Kitching, as well as certain God's Girls and Suicide Girls, are).

Journals/Journal entries:
1. One-liners are okay every once in a while but we don't want to see them every time you make an update for your character. Save those for the random community.
2. If you want to post lyrics, attach them to something actually worth reading. Quizzes, surveys, etc. go behind a cut or in the random community.
3. Don't type like you're brain-dead. i.e. sTiCkY cApS/hai wut r u up 2. Because hey, it makes you look like an idiot.
4. We don't check for updates often but we do occasionally do a clean out of who's been inactive for two or more (2+) weeks so keep that in mind.

AIM / How to roleplay:
1. We're not picky at all when it comes to how you roleplay and the point of view of your character, whether that means you rp in first person or third person, asterisk or storybook, etc. Everyone has their own preference.
2. If you're new to roleplaying and not sure what to do, feel free to contact one of the mods and we'll help you out, give you some pointers, etc. We like to think of this community as a starter for those new to role-play, so please do not feel intimidated to contact us.

The Community:
1. 4thfloorgym is a friends only community. You can't see the entries unless you're a member.
2. Do not join the community unless you are accepted. Unfamiliar usernames on the members list down at the bottom of this page will be removed.
3. The community is for the mods to post community notices, who to add/remove, etc. Of course, if you want to ask a question regarding the community, then feel free to post in the entry specified for comments, complaints, suggestions etc.
4. All posts must be friends only. If they're not, they'll be deleted.

Out of Character:
1. If you see [[ brackets ]] or anything of the sorts, it means the person is talking out of character. Maybe they're telling you they have to [[ brb ]], etc. But that's what they're used for.
2. Keep OOC and IC separate. None of that you holding grudges just 'cause something bad happened to your character crap. It's a game and it happens, deal. If you have a problem or feel that someone's harassing you inappropriately, please contact the mods and we will settle it.
3. If you're going to be gone for a long period of time, let us know so we don't kick your character out. Please specify a time period for your hiatus so we know how long to expect your absence and that your character is not overridden.

Other Stuff:
1. Please try and have a disclaimer somewhere in your userinfo stating that this is, in fact, fake, before applying.
2. Being on AIM doesn't count towards being active if we don't see journal entries and vice versa.
3. Keep in mind that this is a HIGH SCHOOL rp. No getting engaged, no living on your own if you're under 18, etc. It just doesn't happen. Please try and think maturely when it comes to your storylines.
4. Slash and het are both allowed.
5. NO MPREG (male pregnancy). Simple as that, do not ask, it will not happen. If you have a problem with it, then we suggest you find a mpreg friendly community.
6. When you comment to the public application post to join, put your favorite lyric(s) in the subject line so we know you read the rules.
7. We'll comment to you to let you know whether or not you're accepted. If you're accepted, then go ahead and join the community, add the people, etc. If your application was deleted, you were rejected. If you would like a reason as to why you were not accepted, contact a mod. We'll more than likely provide a reason as to why, if you ask us nicely.
