Black Donnellys airing in Australia

  • Apr. 7th, 2008 at 2:18 PM
I don't know if this is old news or what, but I recently went to Showtime's website to see when Brotherhood is supposed to air (read it's supposed to be in the vein of TBD...sort of?) and I gasped when I saw a picture of Jimmy, Kevin, and Tommy on the front page underneath 'Coming Soon'.

I was under the impression that Channel 7 was supposed to be airing TBD (and was getting quite annoyed when it never showed - they've had it since Dec 2006!) but YAY Foxtel!

Anyway, the whole point of this post:

The Black Donnellys will air on SHOWCASE Thursday 15th May 8:30PM

(plus multiple screenings throughout the week in case you miss it)

Yesterday saw the announcement from NBC-Universal for The Black Donnellys - The Complete Series. The 3-DVD set comes out on Sept. 4th, for $49.98 SRP. Besides having every episode, including 7 that never aired on NBC, we have confirmed that "God is a Comedian" will indeed appear on the set, with Deleted Scenes. We've got the box art for you, plus a couple of menu shots:

The box art isn't spectacular, but it's nice.

DVD Update!

I just got this in my e-mail, and I knew you guys would be interested.

Meet the Donnelly brothers: Tommy, Jimmy, Kevin and Sean. There is nothing these four Irish brothers wouldn't do to protect each other, and for them that means lying, cheating, stealing and, occasionally, calling the cops. Narrated by wannabe gangster Joey "Ice Cream," this gritty series bears witness to the Donnelly brothers' sudden involvement in organized crime, focusing on how they go from boys to mobsters, and showing how their new life affects their relationships with friends, family and lovers.

Academy Award winners Paul Haggis and Bobby Moresco ("Crash") are the creators of this gritty new crime drama series loosely based on Moresco's background. The ensemble cast includes Jonathan Tucker ("Texas Chainsaw Massacre"), Billy Lush ("Huff"), Thomas Guiry ("Mystic River"), Michael Stahl-David ("Uncle Nino"), Keith Nobbs ("25th Hour"), Olivia Wilde ("The O.C.") and Kirk Acevedo ("Oz"). Haggis, who directed the pilot, and Moresco are the creators, executive producers and co-writers.

NBC's short-lived series is coming to DVD this Fall. The Black Donnellys - The Complete Series hit the streets on Sept. 4th. The 3-disc package sells for $49.98 SRP. Video is Anamorphic Widescreen (1.78:1), and audio is English Dolby Digital 5.1, with English subtitles. Running time is 9 hours 19 minutes. There will be Deleted Scenes on the first disc in the package. There will be at least 12 episodes, including the pilot, and we expect that the web-only episode "God Is a Comedian" will probably also be included. We'll try to find out for sure. Stay tuned for that, and for box art!

The link is here if you want to see it yourself. Kids, we're getting a DVD!

Help!

  • Jun. 18th, 2007 at 4:11 PM
I'm working on a couple of Black Donnelly LoveBars and I've run into a problem trying to find caps of the wee!donnellys (or younger versions). I've got good pics of young Jimmy & Tommy from the pilot but could anyone help out with Kevin, Sean & all four of them together? I just need one of little Sean now!

I looked through the memories but I don't want to download all the caps of all the episodes just for three pics. So if anyone has easy access to them or already has them saved, could you please help me out? Thank you!

I was wondering if any music savvy people at there would be able to help me out with a couple of songs. I've gone to the heardontv website and while the first episodes have lots of entries, I haven't really found any for the last couple of eps.

So if anyone knows where I can download these songs, it would be much appreciated.

Song playing while Tommy picks up Joanie in 1x12

Thanks!

Notice for TBD writers

We now have a section on fanfiction.net just for The Black Donnellys.

If you have been posting your stuff in the Misc. TV Shows section, you can now move it to 'Black Donnellys'. The section is not listed with the others on the main TV Shows list, but it will be soon.

A group at The Firecracker Lounge is trying to organize a movement similar to the one that brought back Jericho. It appears that they will be focusing on HBO as a potential channel to pick up TBD. Please visit http://thefirecrackerlounge.com and the website they have created at http://www.savetheblackdonnellys.net for more info!

From the girls who run the Donnellys myspace page:

Just giving everyone the heads up. We heard from Jamie Bonelli and James Badge Dale (Samson) that there will be a DVD set some time this summer.

Yay! It'll be nice to get all those special features together. And I don't know about you, but watching tv on the computer is just not the same as having it on my actual television!

Look what I found!

Ooh... )

And now a disclaimer from the Pop Candy blog:
I was wondering if you had any information about The Black Donnellys. I know that it has faced its demise and has been officially cancelled from NBC's lineup. But rumor has it, HDNet will be reairing the entire first season beginning June 13. -- Ruth H.

Yes, this is true. HDNet is airing eps of the show ... though I truly hope no one thinks this means the series could come back, because it will not. The series is over. Just like Veronica Mars is over. And Jericho is over. Yeah, I said it. Somebody had to!

2006-07 Primetime Wrap

  • May. 31st, 2007 at 3:59 PM
The Hollywood Reporter recently posted the ratings of primetime series from the major networks and The Black Donnellys was 83rd, out of 142 series. I'm not exactly sure what this means, or if NBC is going to take it into consideration, but I figured someone would be interested in the link. It had more viewers than Scrubs and Friday Night Lights, also on NBC, as well as some other NBC series like Dateline NBC.
