What: A prompt-based, multi-fandom ficathon that focuses on the goodness that is threesome fic. Whatever mix of gender, species and fictional universe gets you going, it's welcome here as long it comes in triplicate. However, only prompts for and stories about fictional characters may be posted. We will not accept requests or responses for real person fic (RPS/RPF).

Format, rules and other modly things shamelessly borrowed from the excellent galpalficathon and sg_rarepairings ficathons.

Why: A random conversation between your humble mods about a prompt one of us had received in another ficathon, and the desirability of seeing more fics involving threesomes. And because threesomes are fun!

How: We will collect prompts for not quite three weeks between 10 September 2008 and 30 September 2008 in this post. You are allowed to submit up to three prompts each, in any fandom and for any threesome, using the format specified below. We will post a master list of prompts (probably organized by fandom) by the end of 3 October 2008. Anyone may then write any prompt as soon as they see one that grabs them, and there is no need to claim prompts. This may mean some prompts generate multiple responses while others don't generate any, but it allows all writers to write what interests them most.

Fics should be posted to the comm at any time after 3 October 2008 and will be due on day three of the New Year (3 Jan 2009). You can either post the whole story (using an LJ cut) or post a link to the story in your own LJ or at an archive. A master list of all the fics will be provided.

Submitting Prompts: Please post prompts in the prompt post, using the following format

Fandom
Threesome
Three things you'd like to see
Three things you'd prefer not to see

e.g.

Fandom: Supernatural
Threesome: Sam/Dean/Ellen
Three things you'd like to see: the Roadhouse, casefic, angst
Three things you don't want to see: Jo, non-con, drunk!Sam

And since this is all about threes, no more than three prompts per person, please!

Posting Fics: If at all possible, please have your fic beta'd before you post it. Because even the best of us sometimes make really dumb errors in the middle of fics. Please post your fic using the following format

1. Put the title, fandom (may be abbreviated), threesome and rating of your story in the subject line.


2. Include a header which should provide at a minimum, the title, author, prompt chosen (fandom, threesome and want to see/doesn't want to see), rating, and any warnings. Summaries, authors notes, etc are welcome but not necessary.


3. Use the rating system: General Audiences/Teen/Adult


4. Post everything else behind an LJ cut.

Other stuff

What about crossovers? You may submit prompts for crossovers, but please don't turn a non-crossover prompt into a crossover story.

How long does it need to be? There's no minimum or maximum length – we're as happy to see drabbles as 100,000 word epics, should your muse take you that way.

May I write more than one prompt? Yes – please write as many as you want! We won't even hold you to three....

What happens if I don't finish by the deadline? The mods will strap you down in a chair and send round your nightmare threesome to perform unspeakable acts in front of you. Seriously, we want this to be a minimum-stress, minimum-guilt experience for all concerned (including your mods), so there's no penalty. Feel free to post your story when it's ready, although the final master list of stories won't include any fics posted after 3 March 2009.
