Holiday ficlet sign-ups!
This community is for a three-fandom holiday ficlet exchange: Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Anyone who is interested in any of these three fandoms is welcome to participate! All you have to do is be willing to write a drabble or ficlet, between 100-2000 words, before December 15.

Given that this ficlet exchange is during the holiday season, the collective topical prompt is simply to write about a holiday or a celebration of any kind (it need not be a midwinter holiday). This is not intended as a smut-fest; if you wish to write or receive an adult-rated ficlet, you need to state so in your preferences.

Unlike last year when authors posted in their own journals on December 24-25 and I merely listed all the links, this year I will post all ficlets here in this comm. Authors will be identified when the ficlets are posted, but until then please keep secret who you are writing for.

Two notes: sign up by commenting below; comments are screened. And you are free to request ficlets in a fandom that you aren't comfortable writing in; so you could offer to write only HP, but list both HP and PotC as fandoms you'd potentially like to read.

Sign-up info:

For writing:

1) Which fandom(s) you are willing to write (HP, LotR, PotC)? Please rank them in order of preference if more than one.
2) List up to three cross-fandom preferences or restrictions (e.g., if you only want to write gen, no character death, rating, etc.).
3) List up to two fandom-specific preferences or restrictions (e.g. only Third Age LotR, or no Draco/Hermione in HP, etc.) for each fandom listed in #1.

For reading:

4) Which fandom(s) do you prefer to read (same choices as #1, and please rank)?
5) List up to three cross-fandom preferences or restrictions.
6) List up to two fandom-specific preferences or restrictions for each fandom listed in #4.

General:

7) Your email address, so that I can send you the information about who you'll be writing for and their requests.
8) Statement of age (so that anyone underage is not inadvertently assigned to give or receive adult-rated work).
9) Are you willing to be a backup writer in the event that someone is unable to finish their ficlet?

Assignments will be sent out on 19 November, or as soon thereafter as humanly possible.

Rules:

1) Completed ficlets:
a) Your ficlet should be between 100-2000 words in length, and beta read/free of spelling and grammar issues.
b) It should include the HTML coding (for italics, etc.) that you wish to appear in the post. I will not have time to edit this in.
c) It should not be part of a series, or be a sequel to something the recipient may be unfamiliar with.
d) Header information should include:

Author:
Pairing: (if applicable)
Rating:
Warnings: (if applicable)
Summary:
Notes: (if applicable)

2) Submit the ficlet to me by 15 December; I will start posting the next day and will post through New Year's, depending on the number of ficlets. If you need an extension or will be unable to finish your ficlet, contact me ASAP so that I can try to find possible pinch hitters in advance.
