| About: | This community is set up to be a dialogue table among the Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths. This community does not proclaim one faith over another, and does not advocate evangelism for any religion. We exist soley to have a place for members of these three faiths to have a place for safe dialogue. Please read this past post about the difference between "debate" and "dialogue", and playing nice with others. Please also note that this community is not a democracy, and neither do we operate on consensus; rather, it is more of a Beneveolent Dictatorship. Please be respectful. This is not a place to wave a flag- no matter what nation- or to evangelize- no matter what religion. This community does not proclaim to be anti-war or pro-war; anti-palestine/israel, or pro; anti-Bush or pro-Bush (If this is not clear enough, this means that the Israel/Palestine debate should not be played out here). Each member is invited to share their opinion, but that does not mean it is okay to deride one another. I do not advocate censorship, but I and the other maintainers do reserve the right to delete posts or comments, and ban users if we think this space is being blatantly misused. We have a policy in this community of not bringing politics into the discussion. There are many communities on LiveJournal that can cover this side of the discussion. If you are interested in that, members of the community will most likely be happy to direct your query to the correct place. This space is not to be used to advertise your new community, or anything else unless it is directly related to the subject matter of this community. If you do post such advertisements, they will be deleted immediately! This community is hosted by three people; one of Jewish background, one of Christian background, and one from Muslim background. None of us three are under any illusion that we are "perfect" specimens of each religion, but we do each have a certain conviction about our backgrounds and education that lead us to be here now. We hope that by having each section of this community at least loosely represented that we can all feel comfortable in this environment. Please use this space to ask questions and learn, as well as to bring up points of discussion. We are well aware that there is a plethora of incendiary issues surrounding current events and religion, so we anticipate there to be a great deal of traffic here. We also understand that there will be a great many differing opinions, and that everyone keep in mind that we all come from different points of view on all of those opinions.
