Cool. I just stumbled across this today, and figured it couldn't hurt to list some of my artwork in the Local Artists section of Hello Knoxville. It doesn't cost anything and although it's tedious uploading one photo at a time, it's one more place for free exposure. This site is just the local bit for here, but it's part of a worldwide, big city network of websites. Might check to see the pages of the city nearest you, it might drum up some business. Hi, I just joined here and i thought i'd say something about myself. I'm 18 years old and from ohio, and i use Daz3d. I have Poser 5 and Bryce 5 but i'm still learning them. This is a full render i made a few days ago. Its supposed to be of Persephone, the greek goddess of the spring, when Hades steals her away to the underworld.

Greetings all! I was browsing the Bryce-related comms on LJ and was glad to run across one that's been updated anything like recently ;)

Anyhow, I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Scarlett and I love Bryce. I'm currently running 5.5, and I love it to pieces; I also use DAZ Studio and an old copy of Poser from time to time, and I've recently started tinkering in Vue (I have Blender, but haven't tried it yet, and my experience in Terragen is very limited).

Most of my Bryce pieces are space, landscapes, or abstract/surreal. I make a lot of images that are designed to be desktop wallpapers...here's an example:

Anyone happen to have a copy of the update patch from Bryce 4.0 to 4.1 for the MAC? Someone emailed me looking for the patch, he can't use more recent versions since he's still running OS9.

Just in case you've been under a rock... Daz3d bought out eovia's Hexagon and Carrara product lines and staff, and has just cut the price of Hexagon from around $270 to $32 (cost of a club membership plus 2 - download only version, but for Mac and PC).

That gives anyone here looking to get into modeling (and not just rendering), but unable to afford most of this stuff, and unable to figure out blender ( :) ), a line in on the game.

It's also PO'd a lot of older eovia customers who bought into pricey pre-orders and are getting 'voucher coupons' in trade... I would have been one of them if I hadn't been too broke to get in on the pre-order...

Oh, and the tutorial involved liquid and glass - I modeled the bottle myself, and applied textures myself. The lighting is better, but not realistic.

Any ideas on the lighting?
