Hi, I'm new here. I'm a art student in singapore, about to graduate from school soon, but I still consider myself quite a newbie in digital art and such. Below is a banner for one of my short 3D animation project. Hope to know people around here and do please give me some pointers whenever possible. Thanks. =D

Check out my website for more:
Website: yappyness.com

A place for artists to get their work out there.

Cool. I just stumbled across this today, and figured it couldn't hurt to list some of my artwork in the Local Artists section of Hello Knoxville. It doesn't cost anything and although it's tedious uploading one photo at a time, it's one more place for free exposure. This is what I built today for myself - http://www.helloknoxville.com/Art/steven_lareau.Cfm

This site is just the local bit for here, but it's part of a worldwide, big city network of websites. Might check to see the pages of the city nearest you, it might drum up some business. There's quite a few categories of art, so you should be able to find one to suit you if you're doing art of any type. And for you musicians, there's also a section for local bands.

The main site is Hello Metro

Cross posted like a banshee.

Hi, I just joined here and i thought i'd say something about myself. I'm 18 years old and from ohio, and i use Daz3d. I have Poser 5 and Bryce 5 but i'm still learning them. This is a full render i made a few days ago. Its supposed to be of Persephone, the greek goddess of the spring, when Hades steals her away to the underworld.

Greetings all! I was browsing the Bryce-related comms on LJ and was glad to run across one that's been updated anything like recently ;)

Anyhow, I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Scarlett and I love Bryce. I'm currently running 5.5, and I love it to pieces; I also use DAZ Studio and an old copy of Poser from time to time, and I've recently started tinkering in Vue (I have Blender, but haven't tried it yet, and my experience in Terragen is very limited).

Most of my Bryce pieces are space, landscapes, or abstract/surreal. I make a lot of images that are designed to be desktop wallpapers...here's an example:

http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/40069223/ (1024x768)

I'm sure I'll learn a lot from this comm. I look forward to it.

Hi. Silly maya hotkey question. Does anyone remember the hotkey for hiding the maya grid? I know you can simply go into the display panel and select it, but wasn't there a shortcut key for it?

Glass Tutorial

I found the tutorial here - http://www.liquid-arts.de/techniques.htm

Edit: updated pic

Created in Lightwave 8.5.

Oh, and the tutorial involved liquid and glass - I modeled the bottle myself, and applied textures myself. The lighting is better, but not realistic.

Any ideas on the lighting?
